Jess booked a reservation for one of our properties on Airbnb for a year from now, but Airbnb had a temporary glitch on it's platform which allowed Jess to book it for a month and a half at $2,881 instead of our actual rate of $7,420! That's s $4,539 difference!! After going back and forth with Airbnb they finally took responsibility for the mistake and Airbnb cancelled all 58 reservations that were affected by the glitch on their website. As soon as we were aware we nicely explained all this to Jess, but she decided to leave this review saying we were to blame. Airbnb made the mistake and Airbnb cancelled them... not us. If you see another Yelper leaving a similar review they are one of those 58 people Airbnb messed up, in turn hurting our valuable reputation.

As the owner of Ali'i Beach Rentals I can tell you our reputation means a lot, so I wanted to reply to this review myself to set the record straight as I was personally involved in the whole situation. Mike booked a reservation for one of our properties on Airbnb, but Airbnb had a temporary glitch on its platform which allowed him to book it for $2,373 instead of our actual programmed rate of $7,715. After going back and forth with Airbnb for months, they finally took responsibility for the mistake and Airbnb cancelled all 58 reservations that were affected by the glitch on their website. We nicely explained all this to him, but he still decided we were to blame. Airbnb made the mistake and Airbnb cancelled them... not us. If we cancelled Airbnb would have charged us thousands in cancellation fees, but there was no cost to us to cancel because it wasn’t our mistake. If you see another Yelper leaving a similar review they are one of those 58 people Airbnb messed up, in turn hurting our valuable reputation.
