I've been waiting 2 months for someone from Dr Ali office to get back to me with the outcome or follow-up after having MRIs. It is almost impossible to reach anyone at the office. Phone calls go direct to someones voice mail who does not have the courtesy to acknowledge. My zoom call appt went well and Dr seemed concerned at the time, but it's very disappointing and unprofessional to run a office this way.

Dr. Ali helped me with two knee injuries I suffered from soccer. He came recommended from other doctors that I trust. He had a great way of explaining the injuries and my risks. I was able to avoid another doctor's recommendation for surgery. I back on the field, feeling as good as ever.

Sorry it has taken me so long to fulfill my promise. When I hurt my back playing hockey, I didn't think it was so bad. I limped through a few months at work and took it easy at home. My family and I went on a bike ride and I ruptured the disk and was in excruciating pain. Dr. Raed got me in and got me into surgery immediately. He brought back quality of life that I had lost for months. It's been almost two years and I have been "normal" for at least a year of that. I walked out of the hospital pain free that day. And started playing hockey again in month 7. I read a lot online before my surgery and didn't see a lot of positive reviews or "success" stories. It occurred to me after, that for a majority of peopl who are in my situation, they get repaired and never look back or leave some hope behind. Dr. Raed can fix you.

Awful experience. My appointment was at 9:45 am didn't get seen till 11:45 am. No communication I was just put in a room I had to come out, and ask how much longer ???? Thought that's the whole point of having an appointment. Ugh... very irritated and frustrated. Definitely NEVER coming back. I wish I could give zero stars.

Im disappointed to say the least with my experience with Dr Ali Raed. I went to his office next to st Judes hospital. Originally I was excited to go see him, since I had previously read online that he was a great Orthopedic surgeon.
Ive had severe pain in my mid back (sciatic nerve pain) for about 2 years prior and went to him hoping for some answers finally.
It took about a month or so of waiting for the approval of MRI to even happen. When it finally did I then needed to wait ANOTHER MONTH for my follow up appointment to find out results. I understand they're busy, but who makes a patient wait a month (while still in pain) to hear their results?
When my appointment finally arrived and I finally sat down with Dr Ali I was basically given the BS speech a doctor will give you when youre being written off. I was told that I should "fight through the pain" and take up activities such as: yoga, swimming and core exercises. Ive been dealing with this problem for 2 years, him mentioning this to me as if I didn't already know or hadn't tried already was perplexing to me. OF COURSE Ive already tired this, Doctor! Having an Orthopedic Surgeon explain how I can take Motrin and Tylenol at the same time in case I need to "take the edge off" left me speechless. I finally flat out told him "working 'through the pain' while working a FT job isn't realistic." Afterwards he begrudgingly offered a Pain Management referral, shook my hand, said "hang in there" and went on his way. I found out when making appointment to PM office that the next available day was December 24th.
He was professional and I guess in his defense he "tried" to do what he could since I wasn't in need of surgery, but Im without a doubt heartbroken with my experience.
Will not be going back even if I need surgery in the future.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Eileen Y.Long Beach, CA05Nov 18, 2019
I had neck surgery in August and I am almost three months out from my surgery. Before my surgery my left arm was numb from my shoulder to my fingertips. Also, my neck was always in pain. Now my numbness in my arm is gone and while my neck still has some pain it is 90% better than it was.

Dr. Ali is a great doctor!! I got into a car accident 4 years ago .. I was having neck shoulder pain and couldn't lift my arms that well. First he tried to avoid surgery giving me medicines and physical therapy didn't worked after a while my pain was getting worse so he tried the cortisone injection couple time but still didn't worked .. I wasn't feeling well, he ordered a Mri one more time, so he decided to go do a surgery Cervical Fusion. I was scared at first but I trusted him. After the surgery everything was good NO MORE PAIN!! The recovery was the hardest part but I could feel the difference !!
I highly recommend Dr. AliHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - VW Lady B.Anaheim, CA24910Nov 27, 2017
This surgeon had botched my lumbar fusion surgery which created long term chronic pain issues for me. He fabricated the truth about the outcome of my surgery. Failed back patients like myself are swept under the carpet who discarded like refuse in the orthopaedic medical community. The remainder of Dr. Raed's patients have moved on from their successful spine operations who got their lives back. I hope you are all productive individuals.

Warning!! I had back pain for 20+ years. I got relief from epiduarl shots, I hadn't had one for 6 years so I needed to see a doctor to get a prescription. That brought me to Dr. Ali of coarse I had to get an MRI, while going over the MRI with Dr. Ali he came off very concerned for me and very persuasive on how he could relive the pain through surgery. He made it very clear I would need this surgery at some point in my life. I was very nervous about going under the knife so I went the shot route. After 2 shots came my follow up app. with Dr. Ali, I had some relief but again the Dr. gave a very convincing argument for going ahead with surgery. Full cage front and back and complete clean out L4 & L5. On the day of the surgery, I was very nervous about waking up paralyzed, he calmed me down and said the WORST thing that could happen is I'd have some tingling in my right leg for 3 to 4 weeks due to entering through my side instead of cutting me though the front stomach area. If he has told you the same thing after 9 / 2019 he's a Lair cause I woke up not able to move my right leg at all. I could wiggle my toes and move my foot up and down slightly. Here's where I saw the real Dr. Ali, he came in the room asked me to wiggle my toes...once he saw I could do that he simply said your nerves are "pissed off" and it could take 3 months for your leg to heal. I dragged my leg around using a walker to get to the 1 month app. Again he seemed to down play any problem, I said Doc this very painful dead feeling leg is going to be 100% in 2 months??? oh no no...now he kicked the can down the road to "6 months to a Year for nerves to fully heal" At my 6 month app. I didn't have much improvement when I said are sure my leg is going to be 100% in another 6 months. His reply was "it could take up to 3 years and lets shoot for 80%" Where did that kind caring Dr. I witnessed before the surgery go, he seemed to be stringing me along with BS. I did however notice at every app I had after the surgery, through his thin walls I heard the same spiel almost word by word convincing his patients how surgery would really help them...go figure...he's a surgeon! If your considering surgery PLEASE get a 2nd opinion and then maybe use that guy...I sure wish I did!! Sure he seemed so caring before the problem but when he screwed something up he gave no explanation other than my nerves are pissed. I know I didn't piss them off. I could see it in his eyes...he knows what happened and seems to care less!
