I tried staying at a capsule hotel for the first time. I chose an all female one conveniently located near the Akihabara train station. I booked through Agoda. I could've booked directly with the hotel for a lower price but my Japanese is poor and Agoda said they had one room left.

The entry area is small. The staff's English was okay but they have everything written in English in case you have trouble understanding. You get a shoe locker key and switch out your street shoes for slippers. Your big luggage stays downstairs in the little lobby area. Japan is really safe but I wouldn't leave any valuables in your unaccompanied luggage. Smaller luggage and bags can be taken with you to the floor you'll be staying. You get a key for your locker. I had to get some stuff out of my big luggage and the staff had me go upstairs to get situated then bring the luggage down. Probably had to do this because there's not much room in the lobby area.

Showers are on the first floor and the break room at B1 level. Elevator was a little slow. Carpet was a bit run down but overall the place is clean. I liked the washer and dryer which cost 500 yen for both.

The capsule area is a silent zone. No talking on the cell phone. Area is not sound proof. You can hear people moving around and coming in/out but everyone was respectful and I only woke up a few times.

I'm about 5'2 and the bed fit me. Can't imagine how comfy if you were 5'5 or taller. They have an outlet for you to plug in your phone. Only negative is that I found a piece of hair on my bed sheet when I entered.

Overall it was a neat experience but I probably would just get a regular hotel room next time. It's a bit inconvenient with the locker and capsule on one floor and showers on another, and not having easy access to my luggage. I had to go up and down quite a few times because I forgot something. The break room is okay to hang out but not super comfy. You only go to your capsule to sleep. I had my laptop but didn't want to type because my neighbors could probably hear.

This is a women only capsule hotel located in Akihabara. It is very close to the Akihabara train station, so you can walk from there.

This place is amazing! The capsule is a lot bigger than expected, and it is a good place to rest from a hard day at work, or if you want to try something new! This was my first capsule hotel, and I enjoyed the experience.

The only negative thing I have is that the mattress in the capsule isn't all that comfy. It's about an inch and a half thick, but it wasn't all that bad. I would definitely stay here all over again knowing that.

This place has laundry facilities, showers, a lounge with TV and vending machines, and lockers to store your luggage and things. My locker was big enough to fit my carry on suitcase. If your luggage is too big, the ladies at the front desk will hold it for you and give you a luggage tag.

If you aren't familiar with capsule hotels, I would encourage you to check out their website! It is available in English, and the employees speak English really well also.

Highly recommend. If you're visiting in the area (and a female) this is a hilarious and wonderful place to stay!

There are so many amenities to rave about: free toothbrush, hairbrush, face products (4 types total, all from shiseido), hair and bath products (4 more types, all from shiseido). Inside our lockers they provided a small mesh bag so you could easily carry your own toiletries to the bathroom.

During our stay, there was an event where they featured an Ikemen anime/game and there were pictures and life-sized cutouts all over the hotel- it was soooo funny. In the bathroom the pictures of the ikemen were only wearing towels around their waists- and all of us ladies were getting ready in silence so seriously. It was hilarious- I would definitely recommend, just for that!

The staff was absolutely wonderful and accommodating! Knowing little to no Japanese was not an issue, I was able to get any problems solved and/or directions with no problem. It was meticulously kept up and spotless. Signs were posted and you were given all the directions you needed as far as utilizing the facility properly. The lockers were narrow but fit my back pack and carry on fine, my main bag was kept out with all the other guests and I had no issues. Every floor is secured so only persons staying in a room on that floor have access to it. The capsules were spacious, comfortable and had the main necessities you'd need. Shower facilities were limited and only available on the 1st floor, but they left notice as to what peak hours were so if you were able you could avoid a wait. They were clean, modern and amenities were all provided. Overall, my stay here was affordable and beyond expectation for price. I will most definitely be utilizing on my next trip to Tokyo and recommend for people that don't need a huge room just a place to sleep and park your stuff.
