CARLOS ROCKS!!!!
He is very knowledgeable and helpful and he provides Excellent customer service.
Carlos and his assistant installed a whole new AC unit in one day and they left everything cleaner than before they even showed up. Lol!
We were very pleased!
The reason for only a 4 star rating is because the AC unit itself didn't actually help our electric bill in any way. We bought the 2nd highest rated Bryant AC unit because it's supposed to be much more energy efficient, but after 4 months there was never really a change in our bill. Very disappointed about that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott B.Houston, TX05019Jul 19, 2023
The compressor on our AC unit quit running on one of the hottest days (105) of the year. Contacted Air Comfort Systems via text with a description of problem as prescribed to obtain their after hours or emergency service. Carlos, the owner, called me within 15 minutes after I sent the text. After I described the problem Carlos had a pretty good idea what the issue was. Carlos laid out their fees for after hours or emergency calls to which I thought were reasonable. He had a young man named Oscar come out within the hour to address our problem. Oscar had the unit up and running in no time at all. He was a very polite young man and very knowledgeable in his craft. These guys saved my wife and I from having a very miserable evening or next day. Do not hesitate in using Air Comfort Systems for your HVAC needs. Great communication and customer service!

Updating my review. Carlos reached out as a follow up to my initial review, apologized, and sent someone out for service. He mentioned they have been short-staffed and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 21, 2023Previous reviewCarlos and his team were my go-to AC technicians for several years. They handled all of my preventative maintenance and repairs at 2 different houses. They also added in new ducts and vents. I really enjoyed working with them and recommended them to others multiple times. We have 2 AC units at our current house and they both finally needed replacing in Sept 2022. So, of course, I turned to Air Comfort Systems. And, unfortunately, that was the end of my good experience with this company.
They weren't registered with the CoA Utility Co for the rebate programs, but Carlos told me his registration had just lapsed and he would get it taken care of so I could take advantage of the rebates. This was a really significant investment - about $26K - so taking advantage of eligible rebates was important to me. I was told if he couldn't get registered in time, he would refund me for the value of the rebates. So I selected my 2 new systems and scheduled everything with Air Comfort Systems.
The installation went well, but they weren't able to hook up the furnace. I believe they needed a part he didn't have with him. It was Sept in TX, so I was fine with him planning to return later for that last piece of the install since it was still so hot. I was told they would come out for a fall service and finish that last piece of install at that time.
I reached out a few times over the next couple of months and received no response. By November, I started receiving urgent service alerts from one of the systems. The weather also turned colder and we didn't have the ability to run our heat because I needed Air Comfort Systems to come out and I couldn't get in touch with them. I had to reach out to Carlos multiple times in November in order to get him to come out to get the heat working. It had gotten cold in Austin and we couldn't run the heat. He did finally come out in mid November and got things working. They had left the gas valve on one of the new systems turned off. He also said he never registered with the CoA rebate program, so he wrote me a check for the rebate amount.
I had been on their annual maintenance service plan before the new systems, which meant I received emails or texts from them reminding me to schedule summer and winter preventative maintenance. But after the new systems and Carlos' last visit to finish getting our heat working in November, I never heard from him again. I began reaching out in early August 2023 when I realized I never heard from them for my summer prentative maintenance. I sent 2 emails and never heard back. It felt clear that the team at Air Comfort Systems was no longer interested in servicing the 2 new units they installed.
I sent Carlos the following text message: "I've been emailing you about scheduling a summer service, but I'm not getting a response. I was one of your customers for several years and really enjoyed working with you. But it honestly feels like once I spent the money to install 2 new AC systems with you, you quit responding to my requests for service. Before I look for a new go-to AC company, I thought I'd check in with you to see if I'm misinterpreting anything. If you are no longer interested in servicing these AC units that you installed, please just let me know and I will find a new company to work with and refer future business to. Thanks."
I did receive a text response from Carlos that read as follows: "Yes ma'am I'll call you in a bit I apologize"
That text was received nearly a week ago - I never received a call or another text. Message received - I will find a new go-to AC service provider.
If you're looking for service only, I had great experience with this company. But, be warned, it does feel like he was no longer interested in further business with me once there was no longer the possibility of a higher dollar sale coming his way after I purchased the 2 new systems from him. - Lisa C.Austin, TX109181233Jan 21, 2022Purchased a Yelp Deal
Speedy response and service appointment. I didn't get quotes for comparison but the prices seemed fair.
Don't buy the voucher, they don't actually accept it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Matthew G.TX, TX2215Aug 15, 2022
Had a brown out in Kyle where our power flickered and then our AC unit started blowing hot air. Called these guys and they suggested a quick fix for it before coming out and helped me troubleshoot a solution instead of just taking advantage of the situation and coming out for something that could easily be fixed. Very awesome and speaks to the integrity of the business. Will contact them again and will gladly have them service our system if it needs it in the future.

Can't recommend the team at Air Comfort Systems enough.
I had a faulty home furnace that their competitor quoted me $1200 in repairs that turned out were not needed.
Air Comfort Systems fixed my furnace and charged me the minimum, saving me over $1K.
Great communication, reliable, trustworthy, fast, and affordable.
I will be using Air Comfort Systems in the future and recommending to friends and family.
Great job!
Thank you Carlos, Steve, and Oscar. True professionals.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adam S.Austin, TX0112Jul 7, 2022

If Carlos and Steve had a reality show... It would be called HVAC Whisperers. What a fantastic experience and I know who my go-to is now. That was easy.

Service person came promptly, even though it was after hours, and was very knowledgeable. Fixed the problem within 15 minutes as he had the part on the truck; he was professional and courteous.
I really appreciated that he did not try to upsell or tell me that I had a major problem when a new capacitor was all that was needed. Integrity and skill goes a long, long way!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 21, 2018
I clicked the 5 stars here on Yelp and it says "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" This is one of the rare times I can absolutely agree with that sentiment!
Sadly, service seems to being dying in some industries (and in some has always been hard to find). Carlos at Air Comfort Systems is awesome and takes service to the next level.
I'm going to give you the short version:
We had another company come out to our house. First, I was given pricing over the phone and when I talked to the guy servicing our house, he gave me different, more expensive pricing. Then he was simply trying to up-sell me and get me to replace my unit because it's over 10 years old. Oh, and was about to leave without doing the original service I called him out for. Lastly, each time I've talked to the company, their story changes... more than a little irritating.
After paying over $600, the AC still wasn't cooling. In calling them back, the only thing they can do is sell me a new unit. That's basically over $8000... not happening.
Enter Carlos and Air Comfort Systems. Man what a difference!
He was professional. My wife liked him from the first moment (the guy from the other company rubbed her wrong). Mind you, I met neither guy and only dealt with them over the phone. But even dealing over the phone, I liked Carlos and how he communicated everything. How he made suggestions and gave information without constantly trying to up-sell me.
He was there a while. He called a couple times to keep me updated. There's no question the unit is older and will need replacement soon. However, he found something the other guy didn't. The unit was stuck with the heating element on so it was trying to heat and cool at the same time!
He handled this and it's been working like a charm. The difference? I doubt one knows more than the other. But for sure Carlos is actually wanting to SERVICE his clients rather than gorge them and get as much out of them as possible. And he recognizes that if he does that, he will always be well paid.
What a breath of fresh air! Thank you, Carlos!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
