not enough words can describe the great work Don did. It's always refreshing to find someone professional. Came when he said he would. communication on the whole process was clear. Careful and clean work. I was willing to pay for his experience. And the heat is working awesome.

I am so happy I found this place. Our furnace was broken for a few weeks. At first, I got a different furnace repair company to come and diagnose the issue. The technician spent almost an hour looking into it but couldn't really pin-point the root cause. He thought it was most likely one of gas valves or circuit board, and gave us a quote of $1400+ to replace these components (the estimate included annual maintenance as well). This was without him even fully knowing it'd fix the issue or not. He also made it seem like our just 8 year old furnace was a complete dump and even casually brought up replacing it. That's when I decided to get a second opinion and couldn't have been happier that I found this place.
Within 5 minutes of looking at the furnace, Don knew what was wrong. One of the components that collects condensation was clogged, causing furnace to shut down. Within 30 mins, Don cleaned it up and also fixed up a few other things. Our furnace was up and running soon after, and has even been heating way better before it was broken. All of this, at an extremely affordable price, staying true to the company's name.
Highly recommended!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anne Marie C.Chicago, IL81Dec 18, 2023
Pretty disappointed with Affordable Furnace Repair. I inherited this company when I bought my house, and I had trouble with my furnace every year. Even when I asked last winter that they do a comprehensive check of the system to ward off the next issue, I still had them back again this year. It's a family run business, and I liked the husband-wife duo personally. However, the same issue from 13 months ago came up again, and it was like they didn't know me. The repair was beyond a year and they are not servicing Seattle anymore. No exception, no consideration for the 5 years they'd had me as a customer, and no care that it's a week before the holidays.
I suppose this is the break I needed to find a better quality repair shop. For customers in Lynnwood, beware--it's not like working with a trusted member of your community when you work with Affordable Furnace Repair.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Terri s.Lynnwood, WA03Apr 15, 2023

I am also so happy that I called Affordable Furnace Repair. Don was able to come by and do a maintenance checkup after my go-to furnance maintenance for years refused to come out since the furnance is now over 20 years. They instead were pushing heavily on me to buy a brand new furnance. Why would I do that when the furnance was working fine??? Anyway, Don checked it out and his service call cost a lot less than the other furnace company. He said I probably have at least 3-5 years left and I definitely will go to him if I need to replace my furnance. I definitely won't go to those high pressure sales person who's interested in just making a big sale and NOT about customer service.

We called Don 10 years ago to revive our ancient, ailing gas/oil conversion furnace. He was able to get it running again with some tlc, but let us know that it may be on its last legs.
He took care of two more minor repairs over the last few years, then this last visit let us know it was finally time to retire it (replacement parts / labor required were going to be close to $1k).
He educated us on our options, made his suggestion and let us think on it, zero pressure.
We opted for his suggested solution after a bit of research on our own, they got us on their schedule for the next week, showed up on time and Don busted out the entire install himself that day (retrofitting our old enclosure to the new unit, getting the gas/electric all wired, new thermostat installed, etc). All for the price he'd quoted us. His installed looks great, he even went the extra mile to orient it so the new system takes up less of our usable space in our basement. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional, if only all of our contractors/vendors could hit this bar.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Damon T.Bothell, WA219Sep 30, 2019Updated review
If I could give them 10 stars I would. Don is extremely knowledgeable but more importantly honest. PSE had done a free diagnosis and told me I would need a new induction motor for around $850 or possibly a new furnace. PSE doesn't do the repairs so I found Affordable furnace on yelp. Don showed me where the noise was coming from and that we didn't need the other repair. He performed some routine maintenance and enlightened me on much better furnace filters. He said we will probably need a new furnace in a couple years but given the fact we've lived here 18 years and it was here before we got here I think we're doing pretty good. When it is time for a new furnace there's only one company we will be calling. Thanks Affordable Furnace!
Had them out today (year later) for another issue. So grateful for their quick and honest service. Both Dehlia in the office and Don in the field are great with customer service. Fantastic service, great job on an old 60's era furnace that was modified and a wiring night mare. They sorted it all out and now it works like new. The service tech was extremely knowledgeable and prompt and fast. Very pleased. Highly recommend!

Don at Affordable Furnace Repair is wonderful. I'm very happy with the repairs he's done to my 19 year old Carrier Furnace as well as the furnace replacement he did a few weeks ago.

After 2 years having the Furnace Doctors come on 2 different occasions changing parts and charging hundreds of dollars and still not fixing the furnace problem. Yes 2 years of it shutting off for periods and needing to be shut off and on to restart. After hundreds of dollars and another furnace company trying after Furnace Doctors I finally called Don at Affordable heating. He came out and cleaned the burners of lint and dust charged 138 dollars and it's been working good as new! Thank you Don I will always recommend you.

Even though I sound just like the last reviewer, I still have to say it: If I could give these guys more stars, I would! My mother used this company when they still serviced the Eastside. Sadly they no longer service the area where I live but they do service Shoreline. The furnace at our rental in Shoreline died last Fri evening (murphy's law). We had another company that works on the weekend come out but they said our blower and inducer motor were both out and given the cost ($1597 for the blower and $847 for the inducer motor) and that the furnace is 16 years old, they recommended replacing the furnace. I wanted a second opinion and my renters were okay with waiting because the first company didn't have the parts so even if we wanted to just change the parts, we would have to wait until Mon to see how long it would take to get the parts. To replace the furnace, we would need to wait for one of their sales guys to come in to give us an estimate. Then they would still need time to order the furnace and schedule an install. The first company charged us $142 (incl. tax) for this "diagnostic" visit that ended up being a complete waste of time and money. I was also questioning this first tech's diagnostics because my renters said the blower was working, they just weren't getting heat. I also just had a blower replaced at my home and was charged around $900 (significantly less). I asked the tech about it and all he said was that his readings showed the blower wasn't functioning at the proper level so it should be replaced....whatever that means.
On Monday, I called Affordable Furnace. Their receptionist was really kind. I explained what happened and they squeezed us in that same afternoon. She even made sure that Don (think he might be one of the owners?) called well in advance because it would take time for me to get up there from my house. They gave me a two hour window and Don arrived well within that two hour window. He also called 10 minutes beforehand. Don agreed that the inducer was seized but said the blower was totally fine. However, the capacitor coming off the blower was leaking and should be replaced (although the blower was still functioning at proper levels). He said the rest of the furnace was still in fair condition for being 16 years old and did not see any reason to replace it. So he called over to his parts people in Kirkland. They didn't have the exact inducer motor part but he discussed some specs with them and found one that would work. I told him that my tenants have a 3 year old and I was worried about them not having heat. He drove over to Kirkland the same afternoon, picked up the parts and not only fixed the furnace but took the time to do a full maintenance service which is something I asked him to do if he could squeeze in the time so I didn't have to schedule a second visit to get it done this year....one of those things that's kind of a hassle with renters. Guess what? The capacitor cost $50. The inducer motor was $625 (incl. labor). Most importantly, the house now has heat again! Thank you Affordable Furnace Repair for your excellent work/knowledge, service, fair pricing and honesty. I'm still sad that you no longer service the Eastside but at least I can call you for my rental in Shoreline!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
