5/12/2018The person who answered the phone and whom we dealt with upon arrival was very polite. And the transaction was easy and quick. Though it's a bummer to be towed, at least the service wasn't unpleasant. The building is slightly hard to find, behind the Mercedes dealership. The St. Charles church in Clarendon starts towing at 11pm on Saturdays.
The costs my eye caught from the pricing board are something like:
$135 - for a normally weighted car
+ $25 - on weekends
+ $25 - after hours
+ $25 - on holidays - Lindsay K.Tulum Beach, Tulum Beach, Mexico1 friend8 reviews15 photos
4/30/2020Towed me from my own parking lot (that i pay to park in) mid-COVID19, claiming that i was taking up two spots. I parked next to a bush and another car that was already parked, so I was not taking up two spots. If you ask for the photo they took of how your car was parked, they won't let you have it or snap a photo of it with your phone (because they know nothings wrong with it). Getting my car required me to get an Uber and expose myself. I was then exposed to the people at the tow company and god knows where they've been. How are they allowed to tow during quarantine?????
Another time they towed me from my own lot, they claimed my tag wasn't showing when it was. I even heard the lady at the desk say "how did you miss that" to the tow driver (referring to my tag that was clearly hanging from my mirror). They still wouldn't let me have my car without paying $185 even though they made a mistake. Oh they also broke my mirror. Who lets them get away with this and how can i do something about this PLEASE HELP - Mikhail L.Woodbridge, VA7 friends3 reviews
11/19/2019Had the parking tag on the dash, was told that they did not see it and it's my fault for not having it on the rear view mirror for them to easily inspect at drive-by. I understand if it was nowhere to be found but it's easily noticeable if you walk up to the front of the car. Bunch of crooks that make every possible excuse to try and make dishonest money.
For the record, if you're the owner or an employee here and reading this, I'm an active duty Army soldier who just got back from a 14 month deployment in Afghanistan. Going through divorce with no money, college student and military pay issues, just barely scraping by and you guys took the last bit that I had until the 1st of next month. God bless America.
If it's any consolation, the lady at the front desk was somewhat understanding. Business is business I guess, just wish they were more ethical and did things the right way to earn an honest living. - Trama G.Brooklyn, NY675 friends7 reviews2 photos
1/17/2020My new vehicle was towed for no reason from my complex. Was told my permit was altered but it was not. They cause damage to my vehicle. Company has lost its contract with my complex for similar tows including towing a police officer. Cost me $160 plus repairs to my vehicle

3/7/2020These guys are so money hungry. I got to work @ Columbia Grove, parked my car and because the right rear tire was touching the white line, they towed my car claiming that I was taking 2 parking spots and just like that I had to pay them $185. I brought the ACPD but they couldn't help either. And the thing is....there were so many other empty parking spaces, but these guys are just hungry for money. My co-worker also recently got towed because his parking pass expired on the 31st and he got towed the night of 31st @ 4am and their excuse was that his parking pass expires at midnight. Whenever I come back to this place now, I take a picture of my car before leaving it.

I am also a journalist and am interested in learning more about predatory towing in Arlington County, so if anyone wants to speak to me about that, please message me. I have been doing a good bit of research on AT and the general issue of Arlington County's towing practices.
7/24/2019Previous reviewMy car was towed from the Chase parking lot on Sunday, 7/21, in 110 degree weather. Obviously, my experience is not unusual, but be prepared that this company will lie about what they have on video. Do not allow them to bully you with "we have you on video"--ask to see the actual footage. Ask also for said footage to be provided to you in writing/hard copy. You are entitled to that. I have also read Chapter 14.3 of the Arlington County Code. Make sure you do too, and note any violations/discrepancies. Report any concerns to towcomplaints@arlingtonv…. This is better than the BBB because this is Arlington County's own Towing Office. It's really important they hear from you.
In general, avoid any verbal interaction with this company. Record everything in writing.
With that being said, with so many complaints on here and with the BBB, and their continuing to act with complete impunity, I see only one course of action--tell the companies that hire Advanced you will no longer patronize their businesses. They will not respond to anything other than hitting their bottom line. Tell the businesses to sever their relationship with them, as other people on here have advised. When I spoke with Chase about this, they advised me that "oh, we know nothing about the towing company. The Property Manager does all that." If this is the kind of sloppy, unprofessional response the business offers, simply never patronize again. Also, do your research. The owner of Advanced Towing lobbied against legislation that would have put limits on predatory towing. nbcwashington.com/news/l…
The representative working the window on Sunday when I went to pick up the car after walking in the blazing hot sun for miles (because my phone was inside the car) was cruel and inhumane beyond words. I told her that I need to come into the shade or else I would faint because I was ill. She didn't care and refused to offer water or any sort of even remotely normal and warranted human response. The absolutely cruelty of this company and its staff is astounding.Read more

1/10/2020My boyfriend's car was towed even though we had a parking permit on the car. We argued with those trash, but turned out we had to pay to get our car... what's even worse is that they damaged our car, one piece under the front door just fell off, so we asked who was the driver... they argued damaging a car will reduce their paycheck... we were pretty sure it was good before the car was towed. One trash asked us to go to the front desk because they have pictures of the car before towed. We saw it was good then, So we came back and ready to argue with the driver, BUT! All of a sudden the piece was fixed, just the moment we were looking at the pictures, they kicked it back and pretend nothing happened. They said they didn't do anything and nothing was damaged.
We didn't think of getting a picture when we saw the damage, and now there is nothing we can prove what they have done to our car. They laughed and teased us... we called 911 for this. Please use the link to file a complaint police.arlingtonva.us.
I have never seen people who are this disgusting in my entire life. Now I know they (people who work for advanced towing company) totally will go to hell for what they have done. They are scum of the earth. - Brianna C.Springfield, VA0 friends5 reviews9 photos
4/2/2020worst towing company ever . they towed my car because i barley passed the line to park but there was other cars parking in two parking spots. they choose my car because it is bigger and it would give them more money it cost me $275 . other cars will cost them $150. that is trash hate this company . here is an example that this car is in two parking spots.

7/22/2019My experience with their terrible customer service and the methods by which they find cars to tow have soured my view on this business. They have one person out to ask if the car you parked is yours (with an innocent question usually) and use that as an opportunity to watch you as you conduct your business. After which they will call in a tow company to very quickly tow your car while you're getting your food. Then when asked, they will curse you out, threaten you, and laugh in your face. When you eventually get to their lot, the customer service rep will ignore the damage caused by their drivers, and charge you will belittling you and strong arming you with her coworkers in a threatening manner.
I refuse to do business with any company that associates with them. - Ignacio E.Washington, DC
6/8/2019Very unethical place. Very unprofessional. These guys will pounce on a car, and in an effort to move the car they are towing, they practice unsafe towing techniques. I witnessed a tow truck rush to get a car out of the parking lot, was not tied down, and went down the street and stopped to tie the car down. I also witnessed two trucks, with younger (I would consider kids) drivers almost get into an accident on Glebe/Wilson. They were yelling out the window, driving reckless, and one went to turn and not paying attention, almost got into an accident. Drivers should not be driving reckless with pedestrians and lots of traffic.

5/22/2019I know this review will not get far but I urge businesses to not due business with this predatory company.
My car was towed from the parking garage to my apartment twice in two weeks due to the hang tag falling off. Both times the hang tag was lying perfectly on the floor, the first time face up and the second face down. My apartment building told me that this has happened with several people and that the towing company will give the car back if the hang tag clearly just fell. I explain this to the lady at the front desk and she responds so unprofessional and rude it honestly caught me off guard saying that it wasn't her problem and my apartment building had no say in the matter. Didn't they hire you?
The first time we walk over to my car and the tag is perfectly sitting on the floor face up. I asked why someone would tow me if it clearly just fell. She said again it's my problem it fell not there's. I said that was shady and she began to yell and scream to the point I started crying. I have never been spoke to so condescending and rude by any sort of business.
Fast forward two weeks later and my car is towed again! The hang tag is on the ground again but face down. The lady wants none of it and made us pay. I had my boyfriend speak to her because I couldn't even handle her attitude. She again was rude. He pays and when signing he signs his signature as his initials and when she saw she replied "I need your real signature". Confused he said that is my signature, she snapped back again "your real signature". He spelt out his whole name and then she showed his signature on his ID. Instead of explaining in the first place the signature needed to match his ID she had to be rude.
This is just a couple of examples of how awful this lady was. She even insinuated I knew the hangtag had fallen and just left it there. Because I love getting towed and being late to work.
My apartment building even said they are rude to them on the phone and they have been looking for other towing companies. So if anyone's interested open up one with nice staff, I'm sure you can have all the business in the area after reading these reviews!

11/30/2019After a long 12 hour road trip today, I arrived home and was parked outside of my own apartment complex for 10 minutes. Just enough time for the concierge to let me in while I ran upstairs and dropped off my bags and got my key fob to get into the garage. I came back down literally 10 minutes later and my car was gone. I walked to the towing place a mile away freezing and bawling my eyes out knowing how expensive this would be. The woman working there had no remorse for my situation. She was impatient and rude while I was handing over my credit card to pay the $185 fine and made me redo the whole receipt because my signature didn't look exactly like the one on my drivers license?? WTF. Get a life.

11/7/2019Awful, terrible, unethical and mean-spirited.
They towed me from a condo development while I was delivering Meals on Wheels, despite being in the 15 minute delivery spot and despite having a sign on the car explaining what I was doing.
When I went to get my car (which still had meals in it for other elderly shut ins), they taunted me, teased me, harassed me and just plain were disgusting towards me. They kept laughing the whole time.
After I paid, I noticed they backed my car into a space with only 5-6 inches on either side. They refused to move any cars. In order to get into my car, I had to slide in sideways without even a quarter inch to spare. I almost got stuck trying to get into my car.
Believe it or not, they just all watched and laughed. And I am a mature man with a full head of gray hair.
Cruel people. They take delight in others' misfortune. - Emma Z.Arlington, VA
9/23/2018If you've spent time in Arlington, you've probably seen Advanced prowling the streets, driving at speeds that seem excessive for a busy urban area with lots of cars and pedestrians. You've probably read the other comments about uncouth and unsafe business practices. Never did I think I'd almost be the next victim, when an Advanced truck nearly barreled into my car.
I was driving on a side street shortly after sundown when an Advanced tow truck speedily pulled out of a hidden driveway, stopping inches from colliding with the passenger side of my car. I froze, shaken. Then I angrily honked. The driver sort of shrugged and lifted his hands--as if to blame me for daring to drive in front of him.
Accidents happened, and I'm glad this one didn't happen. But given how I've constantly seen this company drive - and how I've avoided walking through crosswalks many times because I've never seen them stop at one - it's sadly only a matter of time until someone isn't as fortunate as I was and ends up seriously injured because of continued aggressive driving. - Gilbert T.Northwest Washington, Washington, DC0 friends21 reviews10 photos
2/5/2020I wish negative or no stars were an option here. My car was towed from a contractor parking lot of a building I visit every couple of weeks for work. Apparently this company just takes cars with no warning or checking with the building management. I was also shocked to find that they broke into my car and went through my stuff... on top of that my car was not treated with care while in their possession and left unlocked in their lot with several valuables inside. If you are towed by them be sure to check your car thoroughly for any damage. I will be filing a formal complaint with building management of the lot I was towed from. This company is predatory and should not be allowed to run a business in this manner. Just as a side note has anyone ever noticed that when you have a legit car problem it's impossible to get a tow truck but for anything parking related they come out of the woodwork??? SMH

2/25/2019This place is so unorganized. If you get towed, make sure you get there an hour ahead of needing to get your car out. They will put your car in a small lot with a lot of cars in there. You will have to wait for you car to be towed out again of this small parking lot. So make sure you give yourself at least 30-45 min to get your car out. They take their time with that

5/21/2019The woman at the front of the trailer when you pay is extremely rude. She was also giving me attitude on the phone for asking her location and why I was towed. I don't know why she is in such an awful mood, my car was towed not hers.
Girl, if you don't like your job quit... don't be rude to others. - Nelson R.Arlington, VA0 friends3 reviews
5/17/2019I hate how I feel there's no way for these company's to ever get held accountable and are full of ignorant people and some stupid drivers that can barley read the signs there suppose to enforce. Long story short I got towed from a spot another person parked in that same spot I watched the tow truck driver with a second person in there car look around drive past it and not tow it but when I was parked in they exact same spot no more than 30 minutes earlier I get towed these people don't know what there doing and that's why have caused multiple accidents to my apartment complex from cars not being strapped on right and coming off there truck and hitting the apartment to illegally towing people because again they can't READ !

2/15/2020just the worst. ruined my valentines night by stealing $160 off Harding working people I don't know how they sleep at night tbh. Whole parking lot empty at 11:30pm they must circle the lot waiting for people who dare to park directly in front of &pizza to get out and walk in to rob a quick $160 - $185 off of you for 3 minutes of their time ! they pull out of this empty parking lot and immediately pull into their trailer trash lot across the street. unbelievably somehow this trash is allowed to exist and nobody has stopped them when every google review is talking about legal action against these people why are they still in business in a city with a law school right there if I go back I will upload photos of how ridiculous they are doing people in this parking lot there is no way what they are doing is or should be legal. Someone needs to take these predators down they can't start robbing people because their business is worthless & shouldn't exist in the first place , get this ridiculousness out of existence.
