I love A New Leaf for greens and flowers by the stem. My favorite part is that its totally affordable, and I can just grab what I want, lay it on the counter, and they'll look at it and be like ohhhhhhhh, how about 10? DEAL.

The people who work there are all so nice, super cool, and really really helpful. They aren't pretentious at all, unlike a lot of other florists I've come across. I don't know if the $$$ is necessarily accurate, but I guess it depends what you're buying. Stems are market price, and not any more expensive than any other florist.

WARNING: DO NOT ISE THIS VENUE EVER.
The customer service is horrendous. I feel like there is a bait and switch with quoted prices suddenly doubling. Simply the most unprofessional place I have ever worked with. The added stress of the employees being so rude was unacceptable. There may be beautiful flowers but it is a miserable experience.

This morning I returned the dead flowers that they sold to my boyfriend for Valentine's day, they don't care about customers... they just stole his money.

Be careful, those people can arruined your event or wedding day.

WARNING WARNING WARNING!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service I've ever received. My fiancé and I had reserved this venue for our upcoming wedding reception. We received a contract from Rashelle to secure the date and in the contract (photos attached) she told us it would be $3500 for the date of our event. We had already put a deposit of $1500 so I wanted clarification that we then only owed $2000.

Rashelle then responded the next day with a new contract (also attached) with a price $500 higher than the previous day stating that she had made a mistake etc. Since we had already seen the price of $3500 I asked if they could make some kind of concession such as a discounted/free candle treatment for their $500 mistake. To that Rashelle became extremely rude stating that no monetary concession would be made for HER mistake. She referred to this mistake a snafu...a snafu to me would be a $50 mistake not a $500 mistake!

We got into a heated conversation over the phone with her cutting me off, getting loud with me etc and I'm supposed to be the customer...unreal. I then told her I wanted to speak to the owner Marion in hopes of dealing with someone that potentially had better customer service. Unfortunately, the owner Marion is just as rude and non customer focused as her best employee Rashelle. Marion was extremely combative and in her words told my fiancé she simply didn't care! It was quite clear she doesn't care based on her customer service skills. I caution anyone booking a wedding event or any other event here to go somewhere else!

$500 higher than the previous day!
Contracts provided by a New Leaf with original price quoted at $3500...next day quoted $4000

Once upon a time I lived in the neighborhood and happened upon this gem. The selection always varies but the one thing that remains consistent is they know how to put together a beautiful bouquet.

Now I will make a trip to Lincoln Park when I feel the need for a little pick me up. The staff is awesome, creative, and has a flair for floral design. I tell them what I want to spend and I walk out with a gorgeous arrangement that I never would have been able to create on my own.

TLDR: Staff made dead mom jokes on Mother's Day. My mom is dead.

I came in to purchase a bouquet for my mom, who died five years ago. I've used A New Leaf before for now-and-then stems and I recommend them often to folks looking for a florist and event space. Their flowers are generally high-quality and their customer service has always been, "Meh," but on Mother's Day I decided I won't be returning.

I walked into the southernmost room to browse crystals and vases when I overheard three or four of the staff making dead mom jokes about a coworker who's mom hadn't actually died but was "very much alive." I had my earbuds muted and listened, horrified, as this conversation took place right in front of me. I said nothing, purchased my bouquet, and left, amazed and baffled that A New Leaf's staff had so little tact on a holiday where many of their customers are grieving mothers who have "very much died." Maybe some empathy awareness classes would do these folks some good. Super disappointed with my experience here.

This shop is #@!%&%@ amazing for candles! It also happens to be a lovely floral shop as well. It truly is a beautiful space with a wide variety of flowers, as well as planters and other special doodads. Be sure to head downstairs and check out candle heaven;)

We selected A New Leaf for our wedding venue and after going to a handful of other venue spaces, we walked in and really got "that feeling"...the space has character that is unprecedented and we were hooked. We loved that you could have a ceremony in the top floor with a rustic feel, then guests gravitate to the other levels with an urban, modern feel and the garden just speaks for itself.

I was thrilled to see the space transformed during our wedding day. Andy knocked it out of the park with his flower arrangements for the bouquets, centerpieces and the "Tree of Life" was out of this world. Our guests could not stop talking about it and it was a popular back drop for many photos.

Loved this space and highly recommend hosting any intimate event here! We had 100 guests and it felt like the perfect amount of space.

My wife and I got married at a New Leaf in 2009, and they did a wonderful job back then with the flowers and candles, but I must admit the staff have never changed. You always get the impression that your lucky to be able to shop there, they are so aloof! The place will always hold a special place in our heart, certainly not the staff!

Returned to browse after being away for awhile. This place is still a fest for the eyes! But they now have vintage vases ...looks like someone is hitting garage sales or antique stores. Service was hurried and not very attentive. They're busy but, hey, this is wedding season! Would probably go w a 4 minus...and prices seemed higher. Hmmmmm

Previous visit: A green sanctuary of small plants, flowers, colorful candles, Mexican tile and pots. There are two floors and an outside, back courtyard. I can spend a lot of time just browsing. Prices are moderate; it is a great place to find a reasonable gift. The downstairs has a very large assortment of candles and old twine, rocks and glass jars. Service is perfect. They leave you pretty much alone until you ask for help. They have a second store close-by.
