My family has been going to Lance at A1 for years. Everyone at A1 is so helpful and kind. I honestly would recommend them to everyone and anyone who needs car troubles...and I have. They are an honest shop that does solid work. Even when they moved from West Allis near me to Waukesha, I still will trek out there in a heartbeat when I need help.

It's the only place I will ever go for any and all repairs. I started with them when they were on Lincoln in West Allis and was so sad to see them move,but understood they needed more room.Even though it's a drive, I wouldn't go anywhere else!!! If you want honest and trustworthy advice along with great service and quality work,then this is the place. Lance and the crew have gone so far above and beyond for me and my family(even my daughter who lives in Madison will go nowhere else) and always gives me the honest truth and backs up everything they do! Once you go there ,you'll never go anywhere else.I could not recommend them more!!! They are the best!

Have been to A-1 a few times! It's tough to find a reliable mechanic in the area but Lance is helpful and very willing to work on a car at the last minute. Prices are very fair and he provides excellent customer service with quick diagnosis, quick phone calls, provides options for services, etc.

Finding a reliable and honest auto repair shop is sometimes difficult and stressful. The employees at A1 auto made it easy for me to get what I needed done in a timely fashion while being treated with the best customer service I have ever encountered within the auto industry. Lance was a great help and very knowledgeable in what I was looking for. I strongly recommend A1 auto to anyone that is looking to get any work done on his/her car after my experience and will not be taking my car anywhere else for this reason. Especially not the car dealerships due to them always trying to get extra $ out of you when in reality your car does not even need the maintenance. Customer loyalty and employee honesty goes a long way in my books and A1 offers great service in all facets of their business. had a clunk in the rear of my car.
Took it in, they only replaced shocks and endlinks and charged me 475 bucks for it.

I can clearly see the upper control arm bushings are still shot, car still clunks and veers over bumps. Guys please.

Lance is a really nice guy who knows his way around a car. He has repaired both mine and my boyfriends SUVs multiple times and is always fast, efficient, affordable and honest. He's the guy I trusted to quickly help us when we had a laundry list of necessary repairs (new radiator, new hoses, new tires, alignment, struts and sway bars) pop up just four days before a week long 500 mile road trip! When my boyfriend got into a costly accident with a boat load of front end & tire damage, Lance did everything he could to help us save as much money as possible and was honest with us on what repairs were necessary and what could wait. As young adults attending university, we really appreciate all the time and money he has helped us save all while making our vehicles safe and efficient. Highly recommend A1!

I moved to the area a little over a year ago and a friend recommended A1. Since then, I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. They are knowledgeable and always reliable. Lance, Kelly, and the mechanics are incredibly friendly; I've never once felt out of place. They take care of my car and don't pressure customers for unneeded services like other shops I've been to. Car troubles are a headache, but A1 truly makes it painless. I can always trust that I'm in good hands.

I was quoted almost $500 for rear brakes from a dealership, which I thought was a little unreasonable. I checked around few places like some of the major repair chains, and was not satisfied with some of the reviews posted.
So I searched for independent repair shops and came across A 1. There are a lot of positive reviews so I took a chance. Lance was very helpful and accommodating with great customer service. I dropped my vehicle off on the 4th even though A1 was closed so I could get a second opinion. I followed up with the next morning (5th) and Lance explained everything to me that would be needed. I did not feel pressured or like he was trying to get over on me. The work was completed later that day, and I will be back for future services.
Anyone that owns a vehicle would want a reliable repair shop that will be honest and have good customer service.

This was the best experience I've ever had at a car repair place. I booked an appointment thinking I had a bad tie rod end and was given a really reasonable quote to have it replaced. When I brought the car in it turns out the tie rod was still within spec but the front rotors were warped. He could've done the tie rod end and then said I needed brakes as well and I'd never have been the wiser, but he was very honest and straightforward about what had to be done. We initially thought the brakes may have been part of the problem and we were planning to replace them when we found time, so I had the parts in the trunk from an earlier trip to O'Reilly. When he called to say I didn't need the tie rod ends and did need new rotors I told him about the parts and he was kind enough to install them for just over $80.

My husband and I are what I'd call advanced amateurs in car repair - we'll do our own oil and brake changes when we have time, and we used to do a lot of work on 2000's GM powertrains at the street-legal performance level. We replaced/upgraded a lot of engines and transmissions back in the day. With kids and jobs and a house, and with cars requiring more particular tools and techniques, and the fact that we aren't all that great at diagnosing the day-to-day problems of an aging daily driver, we've been on the lookout for a repair shop we can rely on when we need help. Based on this first experience and the other reviews I've read, I'm pretty sure we've found our place.
