I came here a few years ago when i had a flat tire. The mechanics asked me if I wanted a tire rotation and I was hesitant and unsure to which they responded " do you want to call your dad?" in a rude and mocking way. My dad had just passed away a few months prior. I hope these men never suffer like I did and always have better customer experience than what they provided me! I don't want to call my dad i want to call your manager.

CLOSED motherf**kers, CLOSED. Ripped me off a few years ago , $500.00 for a muffler that should have been around $300.00
And I was broke and unemployed at the time. This actually lead to serious distress and partial physical damage to me in the wake of these guys taking my last $500.00 that I had to my name-- at a BAD time of my life. I was so so stupid that day!
Went in for a muffler .
Cost $500.00 !
Took forever.
Tried to sell me a catalydic converter that i did not need ($400.00 and bluntly posted on a sign in the office--as if in preparation of "Oh here comes that 400 dollar catalytic converter scam again!") Mechanics spoke piss-poor English--difficult to understand when trying to show you what's wrong with your car.
I'm sure that there have been many many many grey-haired old ladies (that have plenty of money because we in the USA pay retired librarians more than what we pay police and doctors and zookeepers ) that just pay whatever fee because they are stranded there.
This place has all the ear-marks of a shady business that has been getting away with murder for years now.
Skanky waiting room. Saw customers come and go in shock about their bills & estimates. I felt bad for them . Really sad when I drive by on the way to work and see lost clueless people pulling in and outta here all the time!!

My first time coming to this Midas was a few years ago... I had a sprinter that was part of a corporate fleet; I had an enterprise/fleet card, but was unsure of the protocol.
Kris and his team were very helpful and knowledgeable... took care everything for me.
Anytime I've gone, they are always willing to squeeze me in (sometimes there's a wait, but that's the cost for thorough service).
I can only speak for my experience at this Midas, but I have never felt any sort of dishonesty or pressure when I've brought my 2016 Lexus NX to get serviced here.

Kris, is the best! He takes the time to answer all my questions. He is honest about all costs and the time it will take to repair. Oil changes and major repairs are given the same attention. My VW Jetta needed an oil change and inspection done and I did not feel like spending a fortune at VW for my leased car that I never drive since I have moved to Manhattan. So while I was on Long Island I looked on groupon to see if there were any local deals and I found this Midas. I called Saturday morning about 10 AM and the man on the phone said I could bring my car down. I also confirmed that the oil change listed was compatible for my car. He informed me that it was and that I did not even have to buy the Groupon and he would honor the price. So I drove the 15 minutes to Syosset from Massapequa and they took my car right away.
After about an hour, my car had its oil changed and a new inspection. Service was quick and price was great. For both things it cost me around $80. I would definitely go back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am giving you fair warning to stay away. This location is dishonest and negligent. If they just did oil changes they might have been better off but this location of Midas in Syosset is very incompetent. I had to get an oil change and needed some tire val caps taken off (I mistakenly put metal tire valve caps on and they fused). So after doing the oil change and they take my car out of the bay (so I had to wait 2 more hours to get it back in the bay and pay more labor) the technician tells me he can't touch the caps because it might break the tpms sensor. I couldn't put air in the tires so I had to insist and said I will replace the tpms sensor if needed. So they got 3 of the four caps off and one sensor was broken when they removed it. So they charge me way too much for replacing one TPMS sensor 125$ for the sensor and 64$ for labor. After all that waiting and money the sensor doesn't even register on my car. I called and then Kris said bring the car back. They rescanned the sensors and it ended up not working again. I brought the car back and it ended up staying in the shop for 3 days and there is barely any communication from the store. If I don't stay on top of them it I don't get updates. Then they finally get back to me and say I needed to change the other 3 tpms sensors that were working perfectly fine before. I said to hold off and took my car back and got a second opinion at Costco tires. They scanned the sensors and immediately found out that Midas put in the wrong sensor for the replaced sensor and nothing was wrong with the other 3 sensors. Midas put the wrong frequency TPMS Sensor in. Costco tires charged me (45 parts+ 15 labor) 60$ for the TPMS sensor including installation and in 1 hour the problem was fixed. What a nightmare from such a simple thing. I brought the wrong sensor back to Midas and asked for my money back for that job. Kris told me he will do the refund but did not know how to process the refund but will call me back after he get the information on how to do it. So I left the part there and once again expected a reply. No reply and when I called the shop they told me Ijaz the manager will get back to me. No call from him and so I went straight to Midas customer service (800) 621-8545 and they are taking a long time to process this but I have a complaint case open. I just hope they do the right thing. The Midas in Mineola is excellent and I have gone there for years but this location was closer to me now so I tried it out. I will never do business with this Syosset midas location again.
Finally after weeks of calling Midas corporate the owner Ijaz reached out to me and issued me a refund only fo the part and a credit for the service fee toward future repair. Not too much to say, except that Chris is an absolute gem. He runs an auto business that is honest, and all the mechanics there are super nice! My family has been going to Chris for many years, and he calls me a Princess because of my lack of knowledge of cars, and all the "trouble" I seem to get into. In any case, personal relationship aside. His appointments are true to time, and he'll tell you to come in only when he can take you. He respects your time, and he's got a cute little waiting room with a vending machine, lots of magazines and comfy couches.
Overall great management, and mechanics. They give you prices estimates as well before service if you ask for it!

DO NOT GO INTO THIS SHOP EVEN FOR AN INSPECTION! They will pressure you with unnecessary repairs and then lie about what they did.

Apr 26, 2018Previous reviewBrought my car in for an inspection and oil change and was told that my car failed inspection because my car needed new wipers and the sepentine belt needed replacement. I was faced with either letting them do the work or taking my car somewhere else. The wear on the belt was almost negligable and the belt was so far down the car that the wear on the belt could not be seen during the inspection. In fact it took the mechanic more than an hour to assemble and reassemble the car after the unneeded replacement. We further discussed my transmission and the manager suggested that I replace the fluid every three years. When I expressed that that the transmission had been rebuilt two years ago suddenly the managers story changed and he suggested that it should be done two years.. There should be enough work without drumming up phoney fraudulent jobs. You do not build a business by doing unneeded work.
