They were kind and gentle when we had to put our 18 year old Jinxy to rest. I was beside myself and wouldn't let him go. Dr. Moody was very sweet and compassionate. Staff were so sweet. Thank you

Ragland & Riley used to be the best vet in the area. This review is negative because of the corporate aspect of VCA. I understand inflation, but their current prices are highway robbery! The staff are all AMAZING, which just makes it worse
Unfortunately, a couple years ago I was forced to switch to another local vet(that I don't like nearly as much) because I couldn't afford Ragland & Riley anymore. At that time the cost of just an exam had went up from $60 to $65(versus $45-$50 at the local vet).
My current vet was on vacation, so Ragland & Riley agreed to see my dog for an unexpected injury last week. They got me in quick and the staff was amazing as always, but the cost of everything had more than doubled from what was already too much An x-Ray was going to be $400+. A 5 minute exam for the dr. to feel her leg and prescribe a dose of pills was $140. We ended up not even being able to afford an x-Ray which was the whole reason for the visit. It's just a shame what selling out to a corporation does to small towns:(Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

You would have thought that a large facility like this could do emergency surgery. "Sorry... we don't keep blood for surgeries... take her to Chattanooga!"
The people here were nice and compassionate... but the male vet missed it when I brought her in a week earlier with her symptoms.
The 2 lady vets seem competent and are nice!
It's always crowded here. The other vet in town won't take new patients. Seems like a golden opportunity to make this a top notch place, but sadly, the management/owner is either overwhelmed, short on cash, lazy, or just plain incompetent.
Too bad for me. I lost my little girl and best friend that day!

I used to love this Vet until my last visit. The doctor was refusing to check my cat for her annual check. My cat was just nervous. I have been taking my cat to VCA for her annual check since 2015. I were very happy with all veterinarian, nurses and staffs. But this time, I don't know what to say. It seems like that veterinarian didn't want to touch my cat. Not sure I will go back again.

Today I had the misfortune to meet cashier Rhonda. She is absolutely not sensitive to people's grief in loss.. It was a humiliating experience and it hurt me emotionally. I came to pick up anti-vomiting drugs for my dog Mia who is currently fighting Parvo and Rhonda asked about our other puppy Zeus. Zeus passed away in the clinic a few days ago from Parvo and I said that we will pick up his ashes next week and pay the balance then. I said that I don't have time for this now. It was very emotional, I wanted to get back to my sick dog (Mia) sooner and I didn't want to shift my focus from the Puppy that we are pulling through parvo to the puppy that we lost already. She insisted that I have to sign an affidavit that I'll pay for Zeus. Doesn't she know that we (I guess as any VCA clients) signed a responsibility to take care of any expenses when we chose hospitalize our pet?? She acted like she caught me stealing money or planning to not pay.. Why would she first tell me I owe $2000 for four days of hospitalization if my puppy passed away in the very first night? I said that the price needs to be adjusted for Zues but at this moment I just want to pay for medication for my other dog (Mia) and go. She didn't let me go. She found the adjusted price, kept me until she filled up the affidavit, then I said just let me sign whatever so I can go. I signed it without amount (doesn't matter because we agreed to pay anything when Zeus was hospitalized) and gave it back to her. Next moment she calls someone and said "She declined signing". I said "I signed", she looked at the Affidavit and added "never mind". Then instead of saying "sorry" to me, she told me to write my SSN on it!
I did not come to VCA to get humiliated like this by a cold insensitive cashier ! I didn't visit this clinic to get hurt and be emotionally damaged by her. She was unprofessional and very disrespectful!
FYI the account is not even in my name its in my husbands name, Jarrod Barlow.
We have been clients of VCA for years, in different states with only possitive experiences and everyone else has been very nice, kind and thoughtful in this clinic.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Overall I was very impressed when I went with my family to have our cat given a bath and her nails trimmed. The reason why I am giving this low score is because I heard some woman named Susan being mean to her staff and it looked like she was teaching or something but if she does not enjoy her job and cannot tolerate working at a VCA hospital where students are meant to be taught then maybe she should find some other place of employment. Very unprofessional and unbecoming of a prestigious place such as this.

Dr. Wearing at VCA Ragland & Riley Animal Hospital operated on our Service Dog, Anook, about 6 weeks ago. He placed a metal "T" into the knee bone of his left rear leg to stabilize it, as he had been limping. Anook has almost completely recovered and had an amazing experience during his recuperation. Dr. Wearing is a world class surgeon who genuinely takes an interest in his patients and their parents/handlers. We would be unable to live a normal life without Anook, and owe a great deal to this exceptional doctor.

it is a clinic. they are not there to show passion about taking care of your pet. they are all about test after test and VERY EXPENSIVE medications. the meds they sell are10-15 times a general pharmacy in the area or online. They play on your feelings about your pet. That if you dont by these meds. or dont have these test or dont have the surgery you pet will die. Just like ford motor co., profit is job 1. takes a few days or a week for a dr. to return your call or a office staff to ask more questions to relay too the dr. return calls are slow. local farmers do not use them unless they have no choice. too expensive.

Our team always strives to be helpful, as the health of your pet is important to us. Please email our hospital manager at reviews.vcaraglandandriley@vca.com so that we may further address your concerns. Respectfully, VCA Ragland & Riley Animal Hospital

Amazing service! Took my dog in for a nail trim and a hurt paw and they were so sweet to him and he loved them all. They don't try to talk you into things the pet doesn't need and they're fairly priced. Definitely Fozzie's new vet.

An awesome Vet we are new to the area but picked up a pup that was in horrible condition. We called ahead it was late but VCA was open till 8pm. Meet with the Dr there and could not have been more pleased he quickly got us meds for our new furry friend. It's only been two days but we have a whole new pup the staff were friendly and well knowledgeable. We are lucky to have this vet in our area. A huge thank you to all the employees here at VCA.
