I came here to get my nose pierced for the first time and Karen, the woman who pierced it, was incredible! She was so sweet and easy to talk to. I was nervous, but she calmed my nerves and quickly pierced my nose without warning, which I was glad for as it didn't give me time to panic or allow anxiety to set in.

Karen is also super knowledgeable and passes along her instagram in case you need to ask her any questions. I reached out a few times and she responded back in a timely manner, sometimes sending videos to help me better understand the answers to my questions.

The parlor itself is very clean and the people behind the counter are always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here for piercings!

Tip: if you do come in for a piercing, take the staircase to the right of the entrance and head to the second floor. That's where they do the piercings.

I read another review about poor customer service at 713 before I visited but, this place is close to my apt and they have mostly good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I had an idea in mind for a tattoo but, even though I have two tatts already (done by two different tattoo parlors YEARS ago) I never really know what to expect price-wise since each shop, each artist, is so different. So, I decided to try to get an estimate on Yelp. My query was responded to very quickly and I was told there's no way to give an estimate without them seeing what I wanted, which is fair, so they asked me to stop by anytime which I did.
Upon walk-in on a Friday afternoon, the shop was clean, beautifully decorated and empty except for three men --NONE of them were friendly or welcoming. Walking into a tattoo shop when you're not used to getting tattoos often, OR if you're one of those people who are terrified of pain (I'm not but I know there are lots who are) is intimidating and you'd think artists who want their business patronized would be more welcoming and make
an effort to ease people's anxiety. Instead, the initial walk in was not warm or inviting. I felt like they were all looking at me like, "umm what do you want and why are you here?" VERY uncomfortable. One guy asked "how can I help?" . I told him I wanted an estimate on a small tattoo and he pointed me to the two other guys who did not look interested at all. The whole time I felt extremely out of place and uncomfortable. But, I continued on because I was really excited about my tattoo idea.
When I showed the photos I'd gotten off the internet of what I wanted, it was immediately met with negativity. "For the size you want it's not gonna look anything like these photos" I told
him I was aware, (duh) I just brought in the photos to give an idea of what I wanted. Isn't it typical of a tattoo artist to recreate my idea and put their own spin on it?? I didn't expect it to look like a photo I screenshotted from the internet. I was just so surprised and confused at the reaction. He literally repeated how it would look so rudimentary in comparison to the photos at least 2 or 3 more times before he even attempted to sketch it for me. Again, strange way to treat a customer.

So finally he starts to draw it on his iPad and I LOVED what he was drawing (which is the only reason I'm giving this review two stars), it was exactly what I had in mine. I let him know I really liked it and in my head I was thinking, why couldn't you just do this from the jump instead of all of the negativity and the trying to discourage me and talking to me like I was dumb?? So then he quotes the price, which was $250. For a small hand tattoo!? Listen, I am an artist myself, so I never want to undermine what an artist charges for their work HOWEVER, I did tell him that I was looking to stay under $100 and his response was "oh, no, no, no, no..." again, the response was just unnecessarily rude and negative to a potential client.
He said the fact that it was colored would make it cost that much even though it was small. He also stated that their tattoos started at $100 minimum which is fine, however, I have two questions: when I asked for the estimate on Yelp... wouldn't that have been a helpful tip to include?? Because that's exactly what I was asking, "can I have a price range?" If your tatts start at $100, say that. My other question is, at that point, as a business, I would've said... "okay we start at $100 so here's how I can create your design for $100." Maybe take out the color, maybe make the design even simpler or whatever. It would've been nice to at least offer an option. He also threw in, "you came into the wrong place for that." I don't know, I didn't like the implication.

Again, I have no problem paying an artist what their worth. I have two tattoos...one runs from my elbow to my wrist and it cost me $140, the other one is above my wrist and it's about the same size of the tattoo I was requesting from 713 and it was $50. So, I was looking for a price somewhere in between those two prices. I would've gladly been willing to negotiate but the negativity, the rudeness, the lack of customer service, the making me feel like you didn't even want to do the tatt, was a complete turnoff. Not the way to treat a customer. I'll get my tattoo elsewhere.

I have never been so disrespected and embarrassed by a business ever. I'm not from Houston but every time I come, I've gotten piercings done here. I went in this morning to get a jewelry change for a fresh piercing that I had gotten someplace else. I totally understand if Harley who "helped" me didnt want to change the piercing so soon. However, he made sure to let me know that my piercing was ugly and not cute in front of everyone.

Even the girl who is with him apologized for how rude he was to me. I've seen other reviews where people have mentioned him being rude.

If you hate your job, you should find another one, and if people are not your thing, perhaps you should take up another career where you can work with animals or better yet spare us all.

I've never been so embarrassed in front of other people buy a business in my life. I know one. Customer probably doesn't matter to them but they've lost one for life. Super rude!

Parking is a pain! But it's midtown so it's expected lol!!! But I was able to find street parking about 1 block from the Parlour.

I decided to get a small tattoo on my forearm, impulsively. I called the shop to see if they accepted walk-ins on a Saturday night. The shop lady was like yes, they always accept walk-ins. PERFECT.

Drove about 15 minutes from my place. Walked in, they were pretty busy but from what I observed, it was people mostly waiting for piercings. The shop lady asked me what I wanted, quoted me a price and have me complete paperwork. She also quoted me a wait time of 25-30 minutes which was ok with me. I waited, I honestly don't know if it was the full 30 minutes or so.

George did my tattoo. It's cute, neat and dainty. I was provided with a sticker and aftercare instructions. Place was clean and will be back for another impulsive tatt

"I am enough." Sometimes, you need a permanent reminder....

Like many other reviews state, the customer service is terrible. I called because I had a question about getting a tattoo. The girl who answered the phone said "I don't know the answer to that question" then abruptly hung up the phone lol. It's ironic their sign says "friendly".

The artist (a brown-skin Hispanic man) made me feel comfortable. He played music based on my suggestions and did an excellent color tattoo! I walked in past 11 PM. My wait time was ~30-40 minutes. The shop has a chill vibe. I plan to return.

      I am very impressed.

Tatoo parlors can feel a little intimidating to walk into. But based on the reviews, I went in one evening.

The piercing studio is upstairs and feels very open well lit and welcoming.

Karen was my piercer, and she really knew what she was doing. I got a belly button piercing and it went smooth and was almost painless hehe.

She disinfected the piercing table after the person before me left and before I got on the table. She then sterilized the piercing area and explained what w were going to do, then guided me through my breathing.

      Fabulous
I'll be back for other piercings now

I searched high and low to find a piercer to replace my belly button ring and I took a chance with 713 after seeing the reviews. I stopped by on a rainy Thursday and got seen by Izzy (spell check). She was so patient with me as I contemplated between the emerald 14k gold belly ring, or the titanium ones. I settled on the 14k gold as it's an investment, along with a lifetime warranty. Yes it was pricy but definitely worth it. Harvey replaced my ring for me within minutes and was so careful and had such a gentle touch. Almost made me want to get a piercing.

I recommend 713 if you're looking for professional, polite and kind employees to take care of you. Also, when you call them to inquire about prices, STOP BEING RUDE AND HANGING UP IN THEIR FACES. I witnessed two people do that to Izzy while I was there and that's so disgusting. These people are just doing their job. If you don't like the price, just say, "ok, thank you" and then hang up.

Anyway, check them out for all your needs!
