This place was a huge find! As someone who does not live in NYC, I was looking for a reasonably priced option for custom shirts to visit. I did extensive research and when I got there I was not disappointed.
I was there and spend a solid 90 minutes with their salesperson designing 6 shirts. She was very knowledgeable and knew when to give her opinion and also when to allow me time to think/ask questions.
There are tons of fabrics to sort through, and even more design options for the construction of the shirt. It was a great experience to go there. I have given 4 stars because I have yet to receive the shirts yet.
If the shirts come back the way I am anticipating, that will not be the last time I buy from them.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dash B.New York, NY25Jun 18, 2009
Easily the best place for men's shirts that I've come across. I've purchased 15-20 over the last few years. The quality is good, the value is phenomenal (think about what a designer shirt retails for and then compare it to the 3 for 399 deal....not even a close call), and Mehdi's a great guy who will give you solid recommendations about food, drink, and probably what to get your mom for mother's day, if you were to ask.
20 Peacocks is especially good for white guys (like me, fyi) because we generally tend towards REALLY boring shirts. Leave yourself in Mehdi's hands, and you'll find yourself pushing the envelope just a bit, and in a good way.
The first day you wear your new duds to work, you'll notice that furtive glances abound from both men and women. What are they thinking? From the gals, "I didn't know he had it in him.....but I like it" and from the guys, "Got to get me some of deez...."Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Feb 13, 2011
20 Peacocks saved my butt with last minute cuff links, while the limo was waiting to take me to the wedding. The super-helpful staffer-hooked me up via my hotel's concierge and I even scored a sale pair at 30 percent off! Elapsed time in store, including credit card transaction, less than 4 minutes... Love me some 20 Peacocks! Next time I'll take an extra few minutes to look around.

$399 + tax for three of the most gorgeous shirts I own.
Some small problems with button positioning when one of the shirts arrived and it was fixed w/o any hesitation.
A+ Customer Service, A+ Shirts....I will be back as soon as I have two more nickels to rub together.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 19, 2008Previous reviewFour stars is a temporary status, as I now have to wait three weeks while they craft my shirts.
I walked into the shop around 1pm on a Saturday and met with the owner Mehdi. I was looking to get custom shirts made and this is certainly the place to do it.
We went over every detail. What I didn't like about shirts I had made elsewhere, colors, styles, cuffs, threads, contrasting colors. He asked tons of questions, to ascertain my own likes and dislikes, as we both mocked men who refuse to wear pink.
I had it narrowed down to about 8 fabrics and he slowly walked me through the process of narrowing it down to three, at which time we went over a plethora of different thread, button, collar, and cuff combinations. While the shirts are not bespoke, they are certainly custom, and you can truly create a unique piece.
He provided me with a number of local contacts to have pants and suits made and was brutally honest about the ties he carried, including those he was not too "thrilled" with.
An hour and a half later, with an order placed, and two pairs of free socks bagged up I was on my way out. Great experience.
However, I would not necessarily recommend this establishment for guys who are afraid to wear bold colored shirt and tie combos. While Mehdi will certainly help you craft a plain white shirt, his expertise is certainly in evoking your inner dandy. (If you don't know what dandy means look it up, it has nothing to do with sexual orientation you homophobe.)
When the shirts arrive, if they are of the same quality as the customer service I will most certainly change my review to five stars. - Chris V.Washington, DC147110103Jan 31, 2012
I will not go to far with this review as it is a work in progress -- the only reason i chose 4 stars is that they are still working on my shirt.
I will say that Minna is terrific and she was very patient and helpful in the process of deciding on the perfect design for the shirt which I will be married in.
I am very much looking forward to the final product -- will keep you posted.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steve H.New York, NY4307Jul 28, 2008First to Review
Had a great experience here having a custom shirt made. The store have a great vibe and layout. It feels like a lounge inside, its not a big store but you can spend a lot of time just browing and speaking with Mehdi.
The process for ordering a custom shirt is quick, but very much a fun adventure. Working with Mehdi was a pleasure, and educational. His sartorial knowledge and style is tremendous. The shirts are a good value, for custom shirts in NYC. There is also a great selection of accessories, such as cufflinks, collar stays, and ties.
I plan to go back and order more soon, and have recommended it to many people.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David J.NM, NM10446Jan 4, 2013

I went into the store with only a vague idea of what to buy. But the shopkeeper (i didnt get his name..) ended up showing me exactly what "I" wanted based on bits and pieces of information about the end user. It was simply perfect!! Kudos to the friendly service and good selection.
