I have been working out with 121 for approximately 25 years. Hope that longevity provides an ample recommendation regarding the quality of this organization and it trainers.

While the focus of this gym is individualized, functional training I have utilized this gym just simply for it's equipment & facilities. A smaller gym, yet efficiently laid out with all the necessary equipment for a decent workout. There's a variety of cardio machines & many of free weights, TRX stations, a few weight machines & pressurized cables. Staff are engaging & from my observation, highly skilled in their trade. Absolutely wouldn't hesitate to recommend to those looking for individual, specialized training. Onsite physical therapist & full locker room service, though this may have changed since COVID.

There is no better investment than investing in you. I happened to see myself in a television interview and saw I was old and fat. One of those conditions I could take care of and since I could not turn back the hands of time; I committed to trying to increase my physical fitness. I was directed to One to One Fitness by a relative.
I am also not a person who can go to the gym and work out on my own. It would be a waste of time and money. The trainers at One to One have been supportive and caring. This is important for me as I need positive reinforcement. Having a trainer who tailors a work out to meet your objectives is key. I can't say I enjoy going to the gym to workout. It is hard after a long work day bit I do appreciate having trainers and staff who enthusiastic, upbeat and seem to genuinely care about me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Richard H.Bethesda, MD01Jun 9, 2014
I have been going to One to One for over 5 years. When I started I suffered from a chronic lower back condition, and through there assistance have built-up my core strength to overcome and deal with this. If you are looking for a gym where you can preen and show off your six-pack abs, this is not the place. If you are looking for a place where you can work with personalized trainers who will help you get into better shape, then I highly recommend One to One.

One to One (I've used several of their locations across the area) is the difference between an occasional workout in a gym and establishing a better way to assure your physical well-being over a lifetime. I'd always been active and into sports when I was young, but I have struggled mightily with my weight as an adult and as a working mother (I'm 53 now) ... and I found that regular workouts weren't helping me stay in shape or tackle my weight like they had in the past. And as I got older and fatter and had less time to commit to exercise, and as I upped the ante to lose weight on my own, the intense workouts I tried to get in on my own were irregular, short-lived, and often left me frustrated, sore, and even injured.
Over the last several years, I've lost weight and improved my physical strength while working with the incredibly skilled and supportive trainers at One to One. While the improvements didn't come from trainings alone, I know I wouldn't have accomplished half of it without One To One and their commitment to helping me reach my goals. Specifically, what's different about them is their focus on helping their clients progress over the course of time to ever more challenging work-outs, measured results, and higher performance. They actually understand the physiological challenges women face as they age and gain weight, and addressed them with customized workouts that improved my strength, endurance, balance, flexibility, and well-being. They shaped trainings to assure my progress from "horribly out of shape" to each stage of improved performance. Slowly and surely. Every time I go into One To One for a training, what I get is different, and designed for MY needs: making me progressively stronger, faster, and leaner. I'm tired, but I feel better - not worse - for having worked out so hard. I still have lot to improve on yet, but I'm on path that's making me stronger over time, which is a lot better than the alternatives.
Personal training isn't for everyone -- it's not as cheap as a simple gym membership. And you will work harder. But if you're interested in changing your body or addressing specific physical issues, and you want results that will last over the course of your lifetime, it's the only thing. It's not possible for a busy person to know as much as One To One's trainers know about how to get you from wherever you are, to the place you want to be.
As for the cost: I pay an expert to fix my car when it's broken; I pay an accountant to better manage my business' finances since that's not my strong suit; I pay a restaurant to cook for me when I need a night off from the kitchen; I even pay a nice lady to clean my house to save me time and sanity. But I pay One To One to help me stay healthy and improve myself. If I have to make a choice between investing in my health and fitness, and other things I pay for, the others will go first. One To One is the very best investment you will make; and you'll never stop seeing and feeling the returns.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle B.Great Falls, VA01May 26, 2014
I have been going to One-to-One for a number of years and have had a great experience. The trainers there are extremely knowledgeable and create programs that are well suited to my particular level, and can be changed to suit how I feel on a particular day. They are extremely knowledgeable and provide good instruction so I don't get hurt -- which is very important.
