Awhile back had an okay meal here, but this time it's a homerun all around... super service and tasty food served piping hot.
Excellent choices:
--Ciabatta Garlic Bread
--Chicken & Roasted Vegetable Potstickers
--Jumbo Stuffed Prawns with roasted Garlic Crab & Panko Stuffing, Grilled Broccoli, Pineapple & Jalapeno Beurre Blanc. Subbed their awesome homemade french fries for the sweet potato mash (wise substitution for a french fry addict!)
--Caribbean Spiced Fresh Daily Catch was lobster, served with Haricots Verts, Mango Salsa, Mixed Greens with Sesame Vinaigrette, Crispy Noodles, Pickled Red Onion. Really tasty combination.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 12169187Feb 7, 2024
Technically I would give this restaurant 4.5 stars. I loved everything we ate minus my steak, which I thought was too fatty and undercooked. Now that the bad is out of the way, the vibe of this place was really fun and it was nice to have a fancy dinner on our last night on the island. Drinks were amazing. I would highly recommend the homemade ricotta with local honeycomb and the mussels. Both were some of the best things I've ever tasted. You also can't go wrong with the chicken and Mac and cheese.

The elegance of this restaurant with its open air seating, melodic sounds of the cokie's and tree frogs, and white linen table cloths enchanted my wife and I after a love-charmed day at
Honeymoon Beach. She ordered the catch of the day - lobster. I went for the crab stuffed prawns. We were both mesmerized by the tantalizing flavors which flooded our mouths. The entrees were nothing less than heavenly. Joe did a fine job as our waiter and kept me hydrated in light of my crimson sun-kissed skin tone. We wish would could have been dressed in tux and evening gown for this exquisite dining experience but felt welcome in our swim suits and coverups.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 3 - 959275Mar 5, 2024
Our hotel Concierge made reservation for us at this restaurant. What a wonderful surprise. The restaurant nested in the Mongoose Junction at Cruz Bay. We walked in and we felt like we are in a plantation house surrounded by trees. We loved the ambience here. We ordered the Conch Fritters, the Stuffed Prawns and the catch of the day which was a Pan Seared Yellowtail Tuna. The Stuffed Prawns came with mashed sweet potatoes and charred broccoli. The prawns were cooked just right and I loved the pairing with sweet potatoes. The Yellow tail Tuna came with local Cassava Mofongo with Braised Pork Belly was really good. The sear Tuna was seared perfectly and the Mofongo was done in the Puerto Rican style. It was quite interesting. And we rounded up the meal with coconut cream custard. The meal was very satisfying. By far, this is probably my favorite restaurant on St. John island. Definitely will come back and highly recommend it.

Food was good but the night started off bad with a horrible hostess!!! It's too bad to ruin the meal before you even get your first drink!

Prices on St John have gone crazy. We were on Island for 10 days and this was my best, and fair priced, meal. All of the Staff was very friendly and attentive. Our Waitress Jill was awesome! My cousin ordered the Mussels and then ordered a second order of mussels. I had the Daily Fish special. The wahoo was perfectly seasoned and cooked! I also had the spicy Margarita. Delicious but watch out fir the heat leaves as your jalapeño ice cube starts to melt. Looking forward to our next trip & meal at 1864.

Loved this place! Amazing food and great vibe. Service was nice and every thing we ate was yummy. The chicken from the fried chicken/mac n cheese (off the dinner menu) was okay. Pretty dry, bland, and the breading was coming off. Mac n cheese was yummy! We made a reservation but they couldn't sit us for about 15 mins. Super friendly staff though but note that it can be busy.

Food is amazing and so is the service. This was by far our favorite place to eat and will return again. We stayed in St. John for 5 days and ate here twice. I would make a reservation. The ambiance is very cool!

One of our favorite restaurants when staying on STJ. Service and food are great. Recommend the potstickers and crab appetizers. I went with the shrimp this year which were excellent. Portion is only 4 so I requested an additional 2 which they accommodated at a reasonable up-charge. Be sure to make a reservation as they get busy. Go here or you can only blame yourself.

We started with conch fritters and the guacamole with chips. Fritters were solid. The guacamole and chips were weak. Chips were stale and the guacamole was very bland. I had the sausage and seafood saffron risotto. A+ on this dish. Loaded with shrimp, mussels, and lobster. Good portion too. My wife enjoyed the scallops dish. Although they don't have a "kids menu" they offer pasta dishes and chicken fingers. I don't remember our servers name, but he was a pleasure. We will definitely return next year.
