Here are some of the fun brunch trends we discovered for 2024:
Toast-able French toast. Raise a glass to the brunch staple that’s getting delicious upgrades. The Michelin-awarded chef at Tampa’s Psomi (#9) celebrates her heritage with a luscious Greek custard-stuffed brioche. Filipino-inspired Breezy (#8) in Southern California adds today’s trendiest tuber to Ube French Toast, slathered with caramelized bananas and ube whipped cream. And at Las Vegas’s Toasted Gastrobrunch (#1), brunchers gobble up a fan fave—Elvis French Toast, made with the rock-’n’-roll legend’s favorite ingredients: bananas, peanut butter, bacon, and honey.
Fantastic fusions. Multicultural menus are popping up in kitchens across the U.S. Toasted Gastrobrunch honors its owner’s Lebanese roots (and famous California sourdough) with Eggs in Purgatory, a bread bowl filled with shakshuka sauce, egg, feta, and mint. San Francisco’s Mr. East Kitchen (#10) blends American favorites with Vietnamese flavors, garnishing an egg-and-cheese sandwich with mango mayo and adding Thai tom yum soup ingredients into an omelet. Chicago’s Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club (#3) blends Korean, American, and Latin flavors into scallion pancakes or chorizo egg skillets; and Immigrant Son Caffe (#2) packs the best of Italy and Southern California into its Breakfast Lasagna.

In 2023, Yelp saw a 79% surge in Mother’s Day reservations compared to the Sunday prior. Yelp also saw an 86% increase in the number of diners adding themselves to the Yelp Waitlist on Mother’s Day, compared to the Sunday prior.* In short, competition for tables can be fierce. We’ve included restaurant-specific tips below to minimize your wait time for Mother’s Day brunch at Yelpers’ favorite brunch hotspots. (One of the best tips? Use the Yelp Waitlist!)
Did your favorite restaurant make it into the Top 100 Brunch Spots for 2024? Let us know on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok with @Yelp and #Yelp. Remember, we only know how good a spot is if you take the time to review it. So share your thoughts on Yelp, and maybe your favorites will be on next year’s Top 100 list!
Methodology: This is a list of the best brunch spots for 2024, according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the Breakfast & Brunch category with a large concentration of reviews mentioning “brunch” and “Mother’s Day,” then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning those keywords in the past 3 years. If a business with multiple locations appeared on the list more than once, we only included the highest-rated location. We limited the number of businesses per state for geographic diversity. All businesses were marked open on Yelp as of February 22, 2024. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score as of February 22, 2024.
Why order plain French toast when you can get it Elvis-style—stuffed with bananas, peanut butter, bacon, and honey? The chef-driven menu at this popular brunch-only mecca turns classics on their heads, with creative specialties like Red Velvet Pancakes, Green Monster Bloody Marys, and Eggs in Purgatory (sunny-side-up egg atop a sourdough bread bowl filled with tomato shakshuka sauce, mushrooms, and feta). “Who needs a stairway to heaven when you have this in purgatory?” asks Yelper Rodney R.
Crowned by Yelpers as one of the top places to eat in Vegas, Toasted “elevates classic breakfast items in a fun, lively setting,” according to Amy Bulgoltz, president of the restaurant (and sister outlet Sami’s Restaurant & Bar). It’s the “perfect brunch spot,” decked out in industrial-chic barn/farm decor, and known for heaping portions and clever extras like latte-foam selfies. Don’t miss the “superb” Coconut Pistachio Kanafee—a nod to owner Sami Ladeki’s Lebanese roots. The sweet-and-savory combo features shredded phyllo, ricotta, mozzarella, coconut, orange blossom syrup, and toasted brioche, topped with pistachios. (Sami also owns another Toasted location in Las Vegas on Arroyo Crossing, as well as Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and Grill on West Sahara.)
Mother’s Day tip: “It’s our busiest day of the year, and we don’t take reservations on the weekend,” Amy says. “The best thing to do is use the Yelp Waitlist.” Insider tip: Send a special message to Mom by scanning a QR code upon arrival, and the restaurant will design it in latte foam.
Most popular/most photographed dishes: Stuffed French Toast (brioche, fresh berries, mascarpone, vanilla, fresh cream, and passionfruit caramel), Short Rib Benny (grilled sourdough, braised short rib, and poached eggs), Southern Fried Chicken Benny (crispy chicken, cheddar cornbread, with poached eggs), and Avocado Toast. Yelpers love the $25 Bottomless Mimosas, too.
Yelpers say: “OMG the food was so good: breakfast burrito, avocado toast, French toast, and Western-ish [Santa Fe] scramble. Cooked perfectly and super flavorful. Bottomless Mimosas are…fizzy and citrusy; glasses are large so 1 is really 2 (be careful, lol). Service was very welcoming and hospitable; ambiance relaxed and fun.” —Yelp Elite Tonja F.

“Get the Breakfast Lasagna and live a happier life forever,” say fans of this beach-close breakfast/brunch cafe whose Italian-SoCal cuisine will “seriously blow [you] away.” The menu fuses owner Alessandro Tromba’s heritage with his childhood upbringing (“Immigrant Son is a nickname I got as a kid because my dad’s from Italy,” he explains). Popular dishes include the best-selling Breakfast Lasagna (prosciutto cotto, bacon, spinach, marinara, frittata, and mozzarella, topped with fried egg), Cousin Michael’s Morning Carbonara (rigatoni with hand-diced pancetta and egg-based cream sauce served in a handmade bread bowl), and classic brunch dishes like “light, fluffy, and a little crispy” waffles and “amazing” pancakes. A brunch must: Ale’s Southern Italian Bloody Mary with a 4-out-of-5 spice level.
Topping off your meal: A complimentary pizzelle (traditional Italian waffle cookie with lacy patterns). “My grandmother wouldn’t let anyone leave without taking a bunch of her homemade pizzelle,” Alessandro explains. “We give them to every guest to keep her legacy going.” People-watch with an espresso on the shaded patio along historic, pedestrian-only Main Street, or dine inside amid Alessandro’s collection of vintage Italian art.
Mother’s Day tip: The cafe doesn’t take reservations. And with just 30+ tables, expect a wait for Mother’s Day brunch. “We have a big line on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 am and 1 pm,” Alessandro says. Average wait time is about 20 minutes, longer on holidays. “If you get here [before or after those times] you can walk right in,” he advises. (Immigrant Son closes at 2 pm daily.)
Most popular/most photographed dishes: Breakfast Lasagna, Eggs Benedict, Cinnamon Brioche French Toast, Avocado Pomodoro Toast (topped with 2 poached eggs).
Yelpers say: “A great place for a brunch date. I had Nonna’s Polenta breakfast with a poached egg—the texture of the polenta was perfect and had the right amount of creaminess. The Peach Bellini was beautifully balanced and the peach purée tasted very fresh. Best surprise was the house-made pizzelle given with the bill—the flavor was delicate and perfectly crispy.” —Yelp Elite Kristina M.

Hearty breakfast skillets, creative French toasts, and other updated morning favorites lure hungry brunchers to this “adorable, cozy” family-friendly North Park eatery (with a sister branch in Belmont Gardens). Chef-owner Manny Mejia draws on his Mexican heritage and experience in the kitchens of m. henry, Jin Ju, and other Chicago hot spots to create “huge portions” of “very yummyyyy breakfast/brunch” dishes.
The menu is “a little bit Korean, a little bit American, and a little bit Latin, with lots of fresh ingredients,” says assistant manager Gaby Delgado. Customer favorites include the weekend-only Carnitas Skillet—pulled pork, roast potato hash, cheese, and topped with 2 eggs—and a “great cinnamon flavor that takes the dish over the top,” says Lelo B. Manny also owns Big Hill, a popular North Park bar and grill.
Mother’s Day tip: Brunch is served only on Saturdays and Sundays, and Bryn Mawr doesn’t take reservations. The restaurant prides itself on efficiency, though, and wait times average 10 to 15 minutes, even for large groups, Gaby says. Mother’s Day tends to be busy, so expect longer-than-normal waits for this 27-table brunch destination. In good weather, choose one of the 15 patio tables.
Most popular/most photographed dishes: Carnitas Skillet, Spiced Banana Waffle, and seasonal French toasts.
Yelpers say: “I loved this place. It was one of the most satisfying brunches I have ever had. I had the sourdough stuffed French toast and bread pudding French toast (breakfast only). They were fantastic and I highly recommend them. The service was topnotch, and the staff were friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough.” —Yelp Elite Joseph M.

Breakfast pupusas, anyone? This beloved Latin kitchen (#1 on Yelp’s Best Brunches list last year) is known for “Guatemalan breakfast dishes [that] burst with flavor,” a “loud and energetic” vibe, and staff of “the friendliest folks in town.” “The wait is always worth it,” says Caleb W., because “this place is heaven on earth.”

In addition to well-known Latin dishes like Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles, you’ll find Guatemalan classics like pupusas (thick corn tortillas stuffed with meat and cheese). “Holy moly. The Latin flavor of this dish rocked our world,” says Jordan B. about the Vaca Frita Pupusas.
Cafe Kakao also pours some of the “best coffee in the city,“ including a variety of flavored lattes including Nutella to Salted Caramel Pepita, as well as coffee mocktails and more. The beans are shipped within 48 hours of roasting in Guatemala, ensuring maximum freshness.
Mother’s Day tip: Expect long lines on a normal weekend (you’ll often find people waiting for the restaurant to open). Mother’s Day promises even larger crowds, so grab a spot in the queue using the Yelp Waitlist.
Most popular/most photographed dishes: French Toast, Wild Berry Pancakes, Huevos Rancheros, Carne Asada, and Tikal (a hearty plate of eggs, carne asada, chorizo, refried black beans, feta, fried plantains, and tortillas).
Yelpers say: “If you’re looking for a great, delicious brunch place, this is it! A sister restaurant to Cafe Antigua, this place is geared to the trendier side of brunch with a mix of Latin flavor. Everything was worth trying! I loved getting a side of pancakes to share. They’re huge, so it’s either good as a 1-entree situation or to share. Their carne is delicious, too.” —Yelp Elite Tania R.

Brunch for a cause is the theme of this “unique and welcoming little cafe” dedicated to helping people battling addiction. Everyone who works here is in recovery, customers pay what they want, and all proceeds support the nonprofit SerenityStar Recovery program. The large menu of “Texas-sized breakfasts” includes stuffed French toast, crepes, waffles, and sweet cream pancakes (with your choice of fillings), 23 types of egg dishes (as omelets, scrambles, and Benedicts), and a wide range of javas including Vietnamese coffee. Bestseller: the “out-of-this-world” Stuffed French Toast with homemade strawberry compote, fresh strawberries, and strawberry drizzle.
Both the cafe and program (multiple locations of each) are the brainchild of life and business partners Teri and Rosie Lopez, who overcame addiction themselves. “We wanted to create a restaurant that would provide community and healing, and celebrate the great foods we’ve experienced,” Rosie explains. Locals embraced the concept, and now customers bring their kids. “They show up with the whole family to volunteer,” Rosie says.
Mother’s Day tip: Waits for the 50 tables can reach 3 hours on an average weekend. Mother’s Day is the busiest day of the year, according to Teri. The wait is “worth it completely,” according to Yelpers. Reservations are accepted for parties of 8 or more. Smaller groups can use the Yelp Waitlist. Games, picnic tables, and sandboxes for kids, a java bar, and a gift shop help pass the time. The hash brown casserole is nice and cheesy; gravy was delicious on the biscuit. I love it here! Feels like home always. Also nestled in a cozy little forest-type setting. Use the Yelp Waitlist feature or you will be waiting hours!” —Yelp Elite Kristen A.

With 2 Yelp citations under its belt—Top 100 Brunch Spots 2023 and Top 100 Midwest Restaurants 2023—Blue Door is the Akron-area brunch spot to beat. Fan favorites include fresh-baked English muffins and “giant croissants right out of the oven.” The newest addition: Fried Chicken, Bourbon, and Biscuits (featuring a bourbon-and-strawberry compote), a combo dish that “sells like crazy,” according to Michael.
“We bake everything from scratch daily,” says Michael, who honed his cooking chops in college and the military. “I grew up in a German household and was used to very good food,” he says. Blue Door also smokes its own salmon; makes its own breakfast sausage; and hand-cuts, brines, and bakes potato chips. Since opening in 2011, it has landed multiple statewide recognitions. Brunch is so popular, it’s now served 6 days a week.
Mother’s Day tip: The 70-seat restaurant (plus 24 seats on the patio, seasonally) doesn’t accept reservations. Michael’s Mother’s Day advice? Use the Yelp Waitlist. He promises a few surprise dishes for Mother’s Day, including a special Blue Door version of eggs Benedict.
Most popular/most photographed dishes: French Toast, Steak & Eggs, Avocado Toast, Eggs Benedict, Monte Cristo Crepe.

They use Kerrygold butter—so cool. 10/10 recommend!” —Rachael O.

This “super chill” Oahu brunch spot—with indoor and (dog-friendly) outdoor seating—dishes out “enormous” portions of Hawaiian-inspired breakfast classics. The top seller—Kalua Pig Hash with Okinawan sweet potatoes, green goddess dressing, and a fried egg—is “perfect for anybody who loves Hawaiian food.” Yelpers also rave over the Crispy Edge Pancakes, with “pillowy-soft, buttery batter,” and Custard French Toast, also with crispy edges and “warm, fluffy custard” inside. Husband-and-wife team Nik and Jennifer Lobendahn spent years researching brunch spots in the San Francisco Bay area before returning to Nik’s hometown to open their eatery 7 years ago. “We love creating from scratch and using fresh ingredients that are unique to Hawaii,” says Jennifer. Why brunch? “It’s the only meal where you can get sweet and savory in one bite,” she explains. Locals flock here after a sunrise hike at the nearby Lanikai Pillbox. Nik and Jennifer also own a popular juice bar and BBQ joint in Kailua.
Most popular/most photographed dishes: Kalua Pig Hash, Potato N’ Eggs, Fried Egg Sandwich, and Custard French Toast.
Mother’s Day tip: Waits can reach 50 minutes during peak weekend hours of 9–11 am at this no-reservations cafe. Jennifer advises guests to call ahead and add their names to the restaurant’s waitlist if they’ll arrive within a half hour. Parties aren’t seated until everyone arrives.
Yelpers say: “We got the Fried Egg Sandwich with Kalua Pork, the Kalua Pig Hash, and the Crispy Eggplant Sandwich. All our dishes were divine. Kalua Pig Hash bowl is huuuuuge and filled to the brim with tender kalua pork. The Fried Egg Sandwich comes with 2 eggs, kalua pork, cheddar, caramelized onions, and spicy aioli—sandwiched between the same toasty sourdough and alongside crispy potatoes. Simple yet delicious!” —Yelp Elite Matthew S.

You can almost feel the ocean breeze at this beachy cafe serving island-inspired Filipino breakfast and brunch. Co-owner Jasmin Gonzalez and chef Michael Dancel’s mission is to introduce America to the cuisine they grew up loving—a fusion of flavors from the Pacific islands, the Philippines, and Hawaii, among other influences—with a menu that straddles past and present. The best-selling (and Insta-worthy) Ube Pancake Stack and Classic French Toast, for example, both ooze with purple ube whipped cream, toasted coconut flakes, coconut crema, and mixed berries. “I’d go back just for this!” writes Yelp Elite Tammy Mimi S. The Loco Moco—Breezy’s twist on the classic Hawaiian dish—featuring a burger patty, sunny-side up egg on white rice, smothered in the restaurant’s secret Loco Moco gravy (traditionally a broth of beef, Worcestershire sauce, and butter)—is “the best I’ve ever had,” says Paul C.
But it’s the traditional, serious Filipino dishes—like Adobo Breakfast Burritos and Chilaquiles, Longanisa (sweet pork sausage) Breakfast Bowls, and specialty drinks (like a tres leches-style Breezy Latte)—that keep regulars coming back. Yelp Elite Daniel D. was “transported” to the Philippines and his grandma’s breakfast after every bite: “Breezy truly is the definition of a ‘New Filipino’ restaurant, combining past with present through a culinary approach,” he says.
Mother’s Day tip: Don’t miss the Paradise Pancake, a Mother’s Day special Jasmin created in honor of her late mom, which will stay on the menu through May 12. “It’s a beautiful tropical dish made up of my mom’s favorite fruits,” she says. “It has fresh mangoes, strawberries, mango cream, and coconut flakes. It’s so good!” Breezy’s also plans to give mini floral bouquets to all moms who dine with them on Mother’s Day.
Most popular/most photographed dishes: Ube French Toast, Adobo Breakfast Burrito, Jax Loco Moco, Honey Basil Ribeye Bowl.
Yelpers say: “Wooow, this place is a hidden gem! My husband and I ordered an Adobo Breakfast Burrito and Ube French Toast, which complemented each [dish’s] sweetness/savoriness. The burrito was the perfect size with shredded pork, garlic rice, and scrambled eggs. The Ube French Toast [with bananas] was cooked to perfection—fluffy and filled with flavor—and tasted like bananas foster/turon (Filipino dessert).” —Yelp Elite Jasmine F.

Brunch at this “light, airy” Michelin-awarded Mediterranean eatery will “transport you [directly] to Greece.” The huge menu of Greek specialities—from Olive and Feta Ciabatta to Strapatsada (scramble with creamy feta) and Loukoumades (donuts)—”are recipes I grew up on, then tweaked, elevated, and made my own,” explains chef-owner Christina Theofilos, winner of a 2023 Michelin Young Chef Award and rising culinary star. “Flaky, crispy, and delicious” Pan Spanakopita (served in a sizzling terracotta skillet) is a best-seller. Small plates of Dolmades and Keftedes (meatballs) make a perfect appetizer. Bacon Bloodys—gazpacho, vodka, topped with a horiatiki skewer (feta-stuffed green olive, peppadew, and pepperoncini), “served with a big, thick slice of bacon”—are a brunch cocktail must.
“Extraordinary” pastries, made fresh daily, are displayed at the front of the restaurant but sell out fast. There are homemade breads, too—no surprise, since psomi means bread in Greek. (Order the “must-have” Bread Basket to sample them all.) But “psomi also translates to ‘best bite’ or ‘choice piece’—the heart of our mission statement,” explains Christina, whose restaurant also boasts Michelin Bib Gourmand status. “Breezy and comfortable” patios (3 in all) add to the charm, as do doors that open for al fresco dining throughout the restaurant. “One of my favorite spots in Tampa! There is nothing else like it,” says Yelp Elite Caitie M. Christina hopes to add a retail marketplace at Psomi, stocked with specialty Greek ingredients and food items, later this year.
Mother’s Day tip: With approximately 45 tables booking up fast for Mother’s Day, reserving soon is advisable. Yelpers advise “going earlier because they run out of some stuff!”
Most popular/most photographed dishes: Bougatsa French Toast (Greek custard-stuffed brioche), Pork Gyro, Bread Basket, Chicken Souvlaki, Grilled Octopus Horiatiki.
Yelpers say: “A tantalizing collection of Greek-inspired dishes that consistently leave you craving more with every bite. Did I mention they also have their own bakery and coffee service? It’s no surprise that they have Bib Gourmand status. I highly recommend reservations due to its popularity and large crowds.” —Yelp Elite JoAn A.

Classic breakfast favorites get a Vietnamese/Thai twist at this popular fusion brunch spot in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood. An Egg and Cheese Sandwich is dressed with mango mayo, while the waffles are spiked with pandan, an Asian flavoring similar to vanilla. And tom yum soup ingredients find their way into a “bangin’ ” omelet: “The mix of shrimp and veggies came together so well and the sriracha bacon tasted great,” reports Yelp Elite Jairo T. But “the star of the show” is the Thai Tea French Toast—Texas bread, Thai tea, milk, and espresso, served with Thai tea syrup—which Yelpers order as an entree or dessert. As a side, don’t miss the “shoestring-cut and super crispy” Garlic Fries.
A light-drenched interior with “a clean, modern feel,” “sweet, helpful staff,” “reasonable price points,” and vegan options add to the restaurant’s appeal. “Portions are huge, so come hungry,” advises Yelp Elite Alyson S.

Most popular/most photographed dishes: Thai Tea French Toast, Garlic Noodle Bowl, Chicken Waffle, Tom Yum Omelette.
Yelpers say: “I dreamt of the Thai Tea French Toast for 2 days after trying it. Loved the presentation and had a blast drenching my toast with the [syrup]. The toast stayed firm yet fluffy, despite being covered in the [syrup], and the Thai tea flavoring wasn’t overwhelming at all. Can’t wait to try the Tom Yum Omelette and Pandan Waffles next time.” —Tracy T.
