Charming, cozy, comfy... Adonia.

Well, the weather outside is frightful, but a fireplace makes it delightful! So forget about the hectic hustle and bustle of the holiday season – this Weekly Yelp hereby gives you permission to seduce that special someone (or hug a mug of cocoa) and get cozy in the cold.
When a chilly day calls for a stronger, “from the inside out” defrosting, Emily S sips from an Artisan Sakemaker cup. Connoisseur or not, their sake tastings are a surefire way to get totally toasted, errr, we mean toasty. Hemant S stills his chattering chops with “the free exotic chai samples, amazing smell of spices, live music and beautiful crowd” at East is East. And steeping amidst Adonia Tea House's “Victorian atmosphere with their heavy wooden round set tables, brown sugar crystals and delicate china,” Claudia L wraps herself in “a long overdue catch up session of gossiping, giggling and gobbling some goodies” with pals. The only thing that could interrupt this jolly good affair? Discovering a “Twining’s autographed poster in the bathroom... bloody splendid!”
The French certainly have a way with romancing the hearthstone. Richard J evades the droves of Robson Street shoppers and warms up in Bacchus’s “intimate, quiet setting, perfect on a rainy wintry day with its fireplace and cushy velvet seating.” Whether at a “window seat as the sun sets” or nestled fireside, Andrew L courts his sweetheart at the “gorgeous little ‘house’” of Le Gavroche, “consistently rated the most romantic restaurant in Vancouver.” Just blocks away, “on the quiet end of Melville Street in Coal Harbour,” Joe L flirts with “three different kinds of oysters” while sipping on Sazeracs or Sugar Shacks made with Voya love.
“Right around sunset,” Kal B takes a stroll down The Cannery’s “little suspension walkway that leads to a dock” for a final spectacular view of the North Shore before they permanently close their doors this March. Fortunately, Cibo Trattoria’s “high ceilings and marble floating fireplace” remain, creating something Marc D hasn't "seen too often at fine dining establishments in Vancouver: a comfortable feel that leads to people at different tables chatting and laughing with each other." And where's Sunny S, you ask? Why, marveling at Yew’s “20-foot-high ceilings, hints of a nature-focused theme, the two-faced, stone fireplace that divides the lounge from the dining area and the glassed cellar room.” Ahh, we're thawed out now, how about yew?
