Yelp: It's All In The List

This Weekly Yelp brought to you by

Check it twice!

They say it takes a village to raise a child. And you, dear yelpers, are that village. From cheap eats to fancy plates and everything in between, Yelp lists have inspired us all to be a little more adventurous when it comes to hitting the purchase, party, or palate pavement. That's precisely why this Weekly features an A-list of lists from some of our village's favorite people.

Ever so practical, Sascha M's been known to Eat On The Cheap when she's hoofin' it down the Avenues like Kevin W, who also sticks to Cheap Eats Nearby when hunger strikes! Athena C puts a limit on her food allowance with her list of Cheap Eats Under $10, featuring "comfort foods like pizza and sandwiches or Asian noodles and dumplings" all in the EV. On the flip side, Julie J keeps track of where to go when she's Feeling Swanky in the city, while fellow yelper Julie A admits she can be a downright Fancy Pants at times. Oh, You Fancy Huh? Then peep Cheryl K's list of dos before delving into Liz C's Sushi picks that give Marlo G's Recession-Friendly Shopping a reason to scrimp.

Uptown, baby! It's Sara M's "happy place" and she wants to share. Northern lights ain't got nothin' on all those five star twinkles in Jillian K's (Way) Uptown Girl diary. While those over the Hudson may GTL, Upper East Siders like Joyce K prefer to UES: Eat and Drink...Then Workout. It sure makes us sweat! Ride the 6 back downtown to tour Carol L's Downtown Delicacies and then hover over Lysa P's compilation of the Best Downtown Haunts below 14th Street. Just don't get too carried away like Lindsay K, lest you end up a complete East Village Idiot.

What's on the docket? Diet ditching if you dare dine at any one of Eric K's Fried Chicken Feats. Whether it's Levain Bakery cookies or Artichoke pizza, there is no doubt that Chris K wants to wear the Fat Pants in the family. And Taryn C has a meal mantra for you: Cakes and Pies, Cakes and Pies! After that sugar crashEros A recommends you roll through row after row of his Healthy Veggie Options. So c'mon guys, Let's Be Healthy with Jenna K and start listing calories! ...Just kidding.

Picks of the Week

Reviews we liked this week.
Greg H. on YN
"YN Bar is the wine designation for those who appreciate great wines or want to learn about them in a much laid back cozy environment.   You come here you immediately shed the tensions of the day and slip into some serious chilled-out comfort.  The wine list changes-up every 3 weeks so there's a…"
Anand M. on ABV
"Awesome new addition to the fringe of the UES and East Harlem. It is owned owned and operated by the same guys as Earls beer and cheese, vynl wine, and other big names in the area. They applied the same concept to ABV - unique food and a well curated wine, and beer list. They have no liquor license,…"
Michael S. on Caffebene
"As someone already mentioned, this place is a chain from Korea. I personally love the coffee here and think its pretty good for a massive chain type of thingy.

Waffles look ridiculously good, but I didn't get a chance to try them when I stopped in. Hate the location (Times Square) but really like the…"

Fat, fat, fat baby.
"NYC Guilty pleasures."
Grab 'n go raw vegan food
"You just want a quick raw vegan food fix, whether it's breakky, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, you don't want to sit down and eat, you don't want any dining experience.  As they say, "Give it to me fast!" please and leave.  If you can pick it up and carry it out in less than 5 minutes, then it's…"
Fine Dining...aka can be expensive meals.
"Not sure what counts. I'm going with dinner for 2 people over $100 (pre tax/tax and without drink cost)."
"I drink coffee every single day so it's good to know where to go/not to go to appease the addiction that sweeps America."
