The forecast calls for cascading rays and warmth, so bust out your stunna shades and hang on to your hats... We're taking this Weekly Yelp for a ride to verandas, rooftops and gardens all over the East Bay. It's time to catch some Vitamin D-synthesizing action al fresco style!

Start your morning off right with a wake-up jolt from Panama Red Coffee Co in Concord. Yelpers are sold on the free Wi-Fi and fountained outdoor seating area, though it was the endearing sass and care of the baristas that secured its title as Rich O's favorite neighborhood java shop: "If you've been there twice chances are they know your drink of choice... three times chances are they know your name." Over in Alameda, Peigi C praises the live music and lush garden at Julie's Coffee and Tea, deeming it "a wonderful, magical place." Up the quirk factor at Mama Buzz in Oakland, where hipsters flock for a dose of the local art scene, complete with a "tres adorable" Jen F-approved patio with koi fish and origami decor to the max!

Time to get a little food in the belly? Well, Aunt Mary's Café in Oakland impresses Ryan C with its "down-home love and attitude" and (most importantly) its "delicious and delightful" eats. Leila J is happy to blame Rio California for her sun-soaked meal, enjoyed within a stunning courtyard surrounded by historic turn-of-the-century homes that only add to the "movie set" quality. But for a full panoramic view of the Bay Area landscape, make a beeline for the patio at Paragon Bar & Café. As Ed L gushes: "Combine this with a solid lunch and it's almost too good to be true."

Get a little elevation and work on your tan at Quinn's Lighthouse, where Becky M likes to kick off an "afternoon drunk fest" with a view of the estuary from their 2nd floor wrap-around deck! San Leandro denizen, Aaron G, gets his drink on with a view of the marina during half-off happy hour at Horatio's, while Chris V's new favorite establishment, Essanay Café, brings a taste of Europe to Fremont with an "amazing atmosphere" and inviting patio that invokes fond memories of Spain for him. Oakland maven, Stephanie G, takes in her view of the stars at the Temescal's lovely wine bar Marc 49. With open sky seating in the breezeway and a cozy back patio, there's a niche with blue skies for everyone!

Pump up your tires and cycle down to the Bike Away from Work Party on 49th between Shattuck and Telegraph Ave! The event offers refreshments from Trumer Pils Brewery, Chipotle burritos and sangria and paella from Barlata’s Tapas Bar. Also featuring a Bike Fashion show with local celebrity judges. Cycleside: Heavy Metal Bike Rodeo will be setting up their creative and crazy bike rides plus the winners of the Bike Commuter of the Year will be announced!

The event is sponsored by the East Bay Bike Coalition, welcoming your membership today!

Ormond O. on Sea Breeze Market & Deli
"This incredibly funky place is built of containers, and has plants, view of the bay, seabreeze with strong eucalyptus accents, on major jogging routes in the East Bay. It's actually next to the southwest leaf of the University Ave interchange with US 80, but from SF you have to go north to Gilman,…"

"Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

This bar is basically three bars in one!

So you're walking down San Pablo in search for the perfect bar, and you happen upon a sleazy neon sign. You sigh to yourself and resolve to give this dive looking place a try. You go inside and WHA-BAM the door opens up to a wonderful, cozy,…"

"Okay, so when you first walk in there's not much to inhale over.  But once you hit the back patio, "Oh my God" is all you can say!  The patio area is to die for, seriously.  It is the most gorgeous bar patio I've seen.  We visited on a warm and sunny evening and had a wonderful time here.  I took…"

Least Bay? I think not.
"I love San Francisco but have discovered that there's actually fun to be had outside the city limits.  Here are some places that'll get me to cross the Bay Bridge."

"Unique places that some seem to exist in an earlier time or alternate universe. Sometimes a great thing, sometimes just strange."
