Handmade soap from Make Meaning.

School's back in session, but when the bell strikes freedom, kids want to play! Luckily, Phoenix is filled with plenty of activities that cater to your child's every need. This week, score an A+ with your kiddo and let us lead you what rules after school!

After a long day of ABC's, Diane S's daughter unwinds at Make Meaning. "This place is every little girl's dream!" Diane exclaims. For just $12, plus the cost of the craft, they can learn a "mix of DIY ceramics, glass projects, and soap, candles, cake, and card" making. Likewise, after saving your kiddos from the confines of the classroom, rev 'em up at Octane Raceway. Children and adults alike can "don a sexy head sock, pick a helmet, strap in," and Stephanie P guarantees, "by the end you'll be unleashing your inner Mario Andretti." Luciana L "brings a good imagination" with her to the Great Arizona Puppet Theater and thoroughly enjoys the "simple but fun" puppet show. No strings attached.

The kids have been stuck indoors all summer, but as soon as the weather hits double digits, Mark W's munchkin is whisked away to Enchanted Island, a veritable "oasis of little kid fun." The perfect Friday after-school treat, marvel at their multitude of entertainment, including "a train, carousel, mini-coaster, teacup ride, parachute ride, and even a bumper boat ride." But Brittany C and her tot choo-choo-choose McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. During an afternoon of train rides, ice cream cones and general frolicking, it's no surprise that she deems this "a picture-perfect postcard of America" and "wishes that every public park" were like this.

Knowledge is power, and The Herd Museum is here to prove it. Reese J takes her son to "learn about the Native Americans" courtesy of their "puzzles, hands-on crafts, stories and artwork," perfect for "satisfying curious minds." Dean D wants to teach his tykes about the "rich flavors and cultural significance" of a Valley staple like Taliesin West. They "learn and admire Frank Lloyd Wright's stunning pieces of architecture" during the tour thanks to the lively docents. It's time to get cultured!

"Great Concept!

My girls love this place. You have to really learn the schedule when the place is really busy (because it gets packed) and that is when the experience is diminished and the potential for getting hurt is heightened.

The big plus is the multitude of things to do. For the smaller,. younger…"

"1 1/2 hours well spent exploring an eccentric artist's Mystery Castle.
Cool story behind this interesting characters plight and his home.
Awesome attention to detail, any artistic  minded person would appreciate and enjoy exploring.
This is a cool surprise date place to take someone.

"My neighbors, DD and I made the trek from Ahwatukee up to MIM on Wednesday; I am so glad we did!

The MIM is one of the most interesting museums I have ever visited.

I loved seeing the similarities in instruments handmade across the world.  It was so neat to see how important music was to each…"
