This is quite possibly the only "toy shop" that I can take my husband to where he won't feel weirded out. They have a great selection of well-made toys and the staff is super helpful and friendly.

Their hot and sour soup tastes like feet. That's all I have to say.

Some of the best sushi in Portland, especially for the price. The lighting inside is a little dim, but you can't beat the patio on a warm summer day. I highly recommend it.

Does anybody actually go here for the food?

It's a great place to go to at the end of an Old Port drinking binge, since you're bound to see someone you know on the patio.

Delicious pizza, but horribly tacky interior. The pizza there is probably as close to NY fare as you're going to get. Just close your eyes and enjoy it.

Decent, but I prefer The Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick any day. I really miss Casco Bay Books, which used to occupy this space.

Although they don't have the best selection, they are still a million time better than Game Stop. The owners actually like video games and are very knowledgeable and act like they actually want to be there. They even sell combo NES/SNES systems , which I'm sure work much better than the NES, even back in its heyday. As far as brick and mortar stores go, nobody has them beat.

Their chai is decent and they have free wi-fi. Their pastries have something left to be desired, and their hours aren't long enough. Otherwise, they're OK.

The food here is absolutely amazing, probably the best Mexican food I've ever had. The quality of the ingredients that they use really shows, and it's worth the money. Another thing I noticed was that their bar doesn't have any cheap liquor that comes in a plastic bottle. The service has always been fantastic as well. So worth every penny.

Bull Moose

I sincerely believe that everybody in Maine who's between the ages of 16 and 30 has wanted to work at a Bull Moose Music location, at least once in their lives.

I've always loved Bull Mose, ever since my days as a rebellious teenager. This store may not have the selection that the warehouse in Scarborough does, or the underground feel that the one in Portland does, but it still has its own little charm. That, and where else can you find loads of cheap new and used CDs, DVDs, and video games? This store puts any crappy music store (I'm looking at you, FYE) to shame, with its extensive collection of hard-to-find and local artists.

If I were to ever leave Maine, I would miss this place dearly.
