ZERO - not coming back.

After placing my to-go order, I pretty much decided this place was worth 4 stars - seated guests looked happy, a couple who came after me got their food before me, manager greeted other take-out people nicely.

25 minutes -
Then it happened...25 minutes waiting for one tiny Chicken Biryani order, I asked the manager when I was paying, "Is this the normal speed you guys work?"

Manager: No, this is not normal because everyone (guests) is here at the same time.

Me: ok (still thinking 4 stars)

Manager: We don't do fast food. We are a restaurant. We cook everything to order, we don't do fast food here. You understand?

Me: ok (2 stars)

Manager: It is not a fast food place.

Me: (turning around to leave with my biryani thinking 0 stars, a little embarassed in front of the other guy waiting for his order). Oh, the food was in a styrofoam (!) container.

I did not have time to get the truffles or cute little pastries, will come back for a second encounter. But I did have time to grab a hot cocoa from this place. The DARK hot chocolate is VERY GOOD! The sweetness was real, not coca cola sweet, but something made the sweetness hit me in the right spot. I will definitely be coming back to give it a second try. After that I intend to upgrade the rating to 5 stars.

Before I completely trash a museum, I'd like to give it a second chance, but today may be a first...you know, I went back to the De Young and they redeemed themselves.

Sure as a cultural institution I would pay the $10 to enter. Beyond that, from the rude security guard who would not believe me when I said I would finish my cocoa before entering their sacred exhibit area to the angry, angry faces of the walking exhibits (wait those are the guards  again, they outnumber patrons), to the sparely merchandised store which I found to be more interesting than the exhibits, I was very disappointed on my first visit to this place.

I would say the first encounter with the security ruined the whole thing.  The art was ok. I probably would not go back.

I love my massages with Richard.  Not only is he a professional, he is a teacher of massage at a local school.  He understands and can articulate what he's doing to you, something that not all CMTs can do.  I like to understand what is being done so I can ask for it in the future, and Richard does a great job.  I highly recommend him for anyone looking to get a quality massage.

Daniela is a true gem! She has great energy about her, and her work is top notch. Some acupuncturists are not so gentle with the needles, but Daniela has a very soft approach that made me feel at ease immediately. She also trained in Chinese medicine. She recently helped me with my knee injury and congestion problems. She prescrribed some wonderful herbs to help!

Her office in conveniently located in the Castro too. I say she is a good one to work with in your daily wellness regimen.

Cindy helped me a lot when I was recovering from a car accident. She is good with the needles and is a great person! I was apprehensive about acu at first, but she is a pro, and has been doing it for years. I think she's worth checking out!

OK - a couple other reviewers mentioned the chicken tikka masala, so I ordered that. I found it watery and the chicken tasted like it had been microwaved too long, that chewy salted taste.

I thought the nan was a rip off. It was such a small serving for what they priced it at.

It still gets two stars for ambience and location and indian flavors, which I love a lot. But sadly, the quality and quantity of the servings was mediocre on this first visit of mine.

Deep fried dough filled with creamy creamy goodness, what more can you ask for?

This is food of the gods....made to order and still hot when you get them...life is good when you can get your hands on this jewel!

The true mark of something wonderful is that after taste of fresh cream after you've swallowed the custard. Some cheap frozen things leave a fake, plasticky taste in your mouth. Luv's It leaves nothing but cream, cream, cream!

I had the warm apple and toasted walnuts sundae on top of the frozen custard. I could feel my life shorten...but it was really yummy.

If you are looking for gigantic portions and utter disregard for healthy dieting, then you should definitely come here!

HUGE plates of delicious mid-western style dishes come to you with great easy-going wait service. I really enjoyed my House Hash with bacon dish. My friend got the special mutton of the day, served with home fries on a hot iron skillet.

My favourite thing during my visit here was the wonderful blueberry jam, made that day and not sold anywhere else. Oh, and the mixed Apple Tangerine fresh squeezed juices was phenomenal!
