This is an average rating between the counter service and the dine-in service, as well as the bakery counter.
I will list the highlights of each for you here:
Counter Service:
Lesser expensive options for meals compared to the dine-in/restaurant side. You can still eat there - though you bus your own tables, etc. a la food court style. They offer large family and party packs as well as $1.99 mini meals too! Because let's face it - sometimes - I am a cheap bastard.
Bakery:
You will find some great staple items like cake donuts, pie, brownies. Then you will find the type of thing that people write home about - or of course Yelp about.
Napples - Puff Pastries with a uniquely ono quality - choose from apple, cherry, chocolate, haupia (coconut), Blueberry Cream Cheese, and they usually have a monthly special. Last time we were in was Strawberry Cream Cheese.
Andagi - Okinawa Donuts - They are kind of like a ball of something that is a cross between a cake donut and a funnel cake.
Sour Cream Donut - BOMB.COM
Jello Pie - Just order it. You won't regret it.
And to top it off you can also call ahead your order. Our family does that for the Andagi so we know for sure they will have them by the time we get to town.
Restaurant:
There is always some type of item of the day or special for the month. For October and November they always have the Vic-Pack - a portion of the proceeds benefits Shane Victorino Foundation. Every November is also the Shane Victorino Golf Tournament and Charity Classic.
I digress - the Vic Pac has Fried Chicken, Terri Beef, Spam, Portuguese Sausage, Fish and Rice. $10
That's a hella big portion of food.
So I always opt for the mini plates which tend to be $7 or less. Though if you are hungry make it a meal with salad/soup, a small drink and dessert for $3 more. You can never go wrong with the Chicken btw.
This place gets packed early - so be sure to remember - you are on an island - take your time If you are in a hurry - go to the counter service side. :)
Keiki Plates are generally $5 or less.
