I'll admit it - a big boost in rating since they're open 24 hours.

This is an average rating between the counter service and the dine-in service, as well as the bakery counter.

I will list the highlights of each for you here:

Counter Service:
Lesser expensive options for meals compared to the dine-in/restaurant side. You can still eat there - though you bus your own tables, etc. a la food court style. They offer large family and party packs as well as $1.99 mini meals too! Because let's face it - sometimes - I am a cheap bastard.

Bakery:
You will find some great staple items like cake donuts, pie, brownies. Then you will find the type of thing that people write home about - or of course Yelp about.
Napples - Puff Pastries with a uniquely ono quality - choose from apple, cherry, chocolate, haupia (coconut), Blueberry Cream Cheese, and they usually have a monthly special. Last time we were in was Strawberry Cream Cheese.

Andagi -  Okinawa Donuts - They are kind of like a ball of something that is a cross between a cake donut and a funnel cake.

Sour Cream Donut - BOMB.COM

Jello Pie - Just order it. You won't regret it.

And to top it off you can also call ahead your order. Our family does that for the Andagi so we know for sure they will have them by the time we get to town.

Restaurant:
There is always some type of item of the day or special for the month. For October and November they always have the Vic-Pack - a portion of the proceeds benefits Shane Victorino Foundation. Every November is also the Shane Victorino Golf Tournament and Charity Classic.
I digress - the Vic Pac has Fried Chicken, Terri Beef, Spam, Portuguese Sausage, Fish and Rice. $10
That's a hella big portion of food.

So I always opt for the mini plates which tend to be $7 or less. Though if you are hungry make it a meal with salad/soup, a small drink and dessert for $3 more. You can never go wrong with the Chicken btw.

This place gets packed early - so be sure to remember - you are on an island - take your time If you are in a hurry - go to the counter service side. :)

Keiki Plates are generally $5 or less.

Not the "greatest" in terms of clothing selection - but there is always something here that you can find use for.

When I don't feel like heading to the Farmer's Market for produce - I know they have a few vendors set up throughout the week.

They also have different events Friday nights or on the weekends - ie. Karaoke Seniors Night; Maui Electric Company Safety Fair.

They also have a train that is not on a track - that takes a tour through the lower portion of the mall.

We come here mainly for:
AT&T
Macy's (to for makeup or specialty items mostly)
Ruby's - because I miss our Halo's and the shakes are always good
Couple or the restaurants.
The Movies

Open air mall, good place to people watch or head to the fabric store - as their selection is unique here too.

Check out the Maui Weekly for a list of performers for the week.

HH specials are pretty decent. Also - if you're up for some late night munchies - the food is AOK. (I had pizza and wings and my old stand by Newcastle - which are less than $5).

I will admit I come here with the hubby to escape for an hour or three and perhaps get our grind on (food and on the dance floor).

I will regret telling you this - but I love their Monday night performer - his ability to adapt or change the key to any song to fit his groove - a.ma.zing!

Super chill - not overly touristy - and rarely pretentious.

First let me start off by saying - this is LONG overdue!

Jodie (the owner) and her staff at J Meier is nothing short of fantastic.

I called in one day and actually found their original profile for Yelp and was quite impressed by the display of support for her new business.

I really only wanted to get my daughter's hair cut as she was in dire need considering her bangs where really more like layers at this point.

I ended up loving the repoire of the gals I spoke with and booked an appointment for myself too. (which was kinda nerve racking considering I haven't let somebody else touch my hair in 3 years).

Have you ever walked into a salon, told them exactly what you wanted for yourself and your keiki - only to walk away feeling like - OMG they listened to exactly what I wanted and it's exactly what we wanted to look like.

Yup - that kind of feeling. I hate the anxiety of the uncertainty - but these gals don't BS - they give you excellent service - no fuss attentiveness and even a hair feather for my little Rachael.

They do offer a referral program as well as frequent customer program.

Since each chair is rented from Jodie - each stylist has their own scale as well as some offering Kama'aina on top of your already great fee and some just offering a general good rate for all clientele.

I can tell you that finding a decent keiki cut for $15 was a dream for me. I became accustomed to some high end salons for her and I living on the mainland - This place offered style for nominal fees. I think the only thing I missed was my favorite gay male receptionist at my old salon - but Jodie's funny husband will do :)

Debbie was a sweetheart! I called ahead for an appointment as I saw that they were offering a mani pedi special.

This has got to be one of the most modern/ergonomic nail salons I have seen in a long time.

They have been open for just a few months now, but I know from my coworkers and my own personal experience - that they are destined to make a name for themselves.

The over sized, quilted pedicure massage chairs are heavenly. I also like that they don't make you rush through each service as they'd prefer perfection every time it seems.

They do have a separate room for manicures as well if you prefer.

The polish selection is limited to ONLY OPI products. FANTASTIC selection too! (You know how most salons tout OPI products but only have a dozen - this place has well over 100 types of OPI shades).

My mani lasted for about 11 days without chips or pukas - which is no small fete considering I cook every night and am not a priss when it comes to housework or house chores.

The owner here is quite a dedicated woman - even with only 4 weeks to go before delivery!

See the staff at VIP - you won't be disappointed.

They are located in the Longs Drugs shopping center - across from McDonald's.

The perfect place to take the keiki for a swim or do a few laps before work. This is especially true on the days when the trade winds have kicked up early, or if they happen to be burning cane and you don't want to deal with cane ash in the ocean.

They offer a keiki pool that is about calf deep and has a huge water fall/fountain for cooling off in.

They also have a graded pool used many for group swim and some of the smaller classes for swim instruction or water aerobics (which is offered almost daily).

Lastly, they have a bisected Olympic pool with 2 dozen lanes or so, plus 3 towers for diving.

The pool is regularly closed on holidays of observance for cleaning purposes as well, however, offers excellent hour of operation aside from those closures.

Located next to the Kihei DMV and the Community Center, this is an excellent free community pool. Most importantly for the novice swimmers - there are always multiple life guards on duty.

Truly - as good as it gets!

Dr. Onishi has the type of bedside manner and warmth that makes you feel not so embarrassed to tell your aches, pains and other weird bodily functions.

Probably a weird way to describe it, but I know that having a doctor who listens and doesn't treat you as just a number or one in a number in overbooked appointments, but treats you like, well ohana.

She never hesitates to recommend or refer to a specialist, and her staff is quite punctual in securing appointments around your scheduling needs as well.

I once had the misfortune of needing a EKG/Pre-Operation appointment. Unfortunately, with only having 5 days pre-surgery, there wasn't any time during the week that my appointment would work.

Dr. Onishi made it a point to fit me in on a Sunday morning. yup - off hours - just to make sure I got fit in on time for the surgery.

What an amazing doctor!

I don't know about you, but the last time I felt like a doctor could be a superhero, I was my daughter's age - time to start believing again

Don't forget - another super convenient reason to have her as your Primary? The lab and radiology departments are in the same building/same floor. How easy is that!?

My parents and my husband all have Dr. MacIntyre chosen as their Primary Care Physician.

She has a great office and wonderful staff here as well.

On top of that, a very inviting waiting area with a good assortment of reads, as well as a large Lego and Little Tyke play area for children as well.

My parents are hard to impress when it comes to a PCP, so for them to recommend a Dr. when my husband had a bad staph infection after a day in the rain forest gone wrong, we opted to see Dr. MacIntyre.

Of course, Murphy's law would have that his insurance for HI hadn't fully kicked in. Not to worry, because with the one time fee for everything, it covered the "umbrella" of services my hubby needed. Including 5 office visits, anesthesia to help drain the infection as well as all the tools, time and effort to get him on the road to recovery.

Dr. MacIntyre turned what would've been a doubly painful process (treatment and fees) into an experience that renewed my husband's faith in Western medicine.

Though I am sure that it helped Dr. Mac is such a witty conversationalist too :)

Call ahead for an appt. though same days are also not that hard to come by in case of urgency.

Dr. MacIntyre also works out of MMG on South Kihei as well.

Super sweet, very attentive - wonderful bedside manner.

My husband thinks she is a great Primary Care Physician - and why not, she practically saved his life :)
