It must have been a fluke. I can't deny their prices for how much sushi goodness you get. I have yet to have any troubles from this place since my review.

Prices are right. Delivery is always super quick. Only have had one bad instance (which I guess is allowed once in a blue moon for sushi considering you're eating raw fish). So glad to be back in this neighborhood so I can start ordering from here again.

If I had reviewed this place a week ago, it would probably have gotten 4 or 5 stars. The food always tasted great. The sushi was a liiiiittle too padded with rice but could be forgiven because everything always seemed to be so fresh.

Please note that I said that in the past tense.

Last night while I was out my boyfriend ordered sushi from there and has been throwing up and all of other fun things that come with food poisoning since 6am.

I am beside myself that we have to try again to find a good sushi place that won't overcharge you for tiny pieces. For shame.

I have been going to this place for a little over two years. How do I love this place? Let me count the ways:
- They have an endless supply of (what my friends and I refer to as) "Magic Bread" - it's foccaia bread that makes all of your cares go away after you bite into it. Plus they always serve it with the perfect amount of oil and balsamic vinegar (well, until you go through 2 rounds of bread and want more, of course)
- I have yet to have anything that I genuinely hated. It's just been, "oh I LOVE that" and "oh I LOVE THAT EVEN MORE THAN I THOUGHT I COULD LOVE ANYTHING"
- the staff are the friendliest, warmest people that will ever serve you. They are great at remembering faces and will on most occasions serve you complimentary lemoncello at the end of your meal to make you feel like you're at home in Italy.
- Their serving sizes are just right. Unless you get a little too carried away with the "magic bread" (see above), you will be a member of the clean plate club and feel like you haven't spent too much money on what you just ate. Plus you're full enough to be satisfied but not too stuffed to have dessert.
- You will want to try all of their desserts. Like, all of them. They change their desserts (along with a good chunk of their menu) seasonally, so you will talk yourself into coming back often so you can make sure to try everything. Their panna cotta will make your tastebuds sing, plus you will be happy with their portion sizes for dessert compared to say, 'Inoteca in the city.

Anybody who's anybody knows to: bring lots of cash (because they are cash only and you can get carried away with how much you eat/drink very easily here) and to make a reservation so you don't get turned away when you're in the mood for some delicious Italian goodness.

Happy Garden Chinese Restaurant

I have never had a bad experience from this place. Even though they're further from our house, my boyfriend and I happily wait the extra 15ish minutes (if that) that it takes for our food to come because we have enjoyed it so much.

Their shrimp egg rolls are delicious and full of actual whole shrimp. We've tried lots of standards on the menu and have yet to be disappointed.

I will say this again for a Bay Ridge restaurant: It is quite obvious in this 'hood that there is not a "omg this is cutting edge and above & beyond amazing food" kind of area, so if you are looking for Chinese food and not Asian fusion blah blah blah kind of food, you eat here, okay?

Despite our pizza being on the not piping hot side of temperature, we haven't had a Grandma pizza as good at any of the other places we've tried in the Bay Ridge area, Ninos included. The thin crust wasn't too crunchy, the sauce was nice and tangy. I'm not really sure what you're expecting from a neighborhood like Bay Ridge considering they're not busting their butts for cutting edge cuisine, but we will not be ordering from anywhere else for our "vegetables" for as long as we live in this neighborhood.

Holy wow. The food here was crazy incredible. Went with a party of 6 and everyone was extremely pleased with their meals. The octopus appetizer was perfectly cooked. Great first experience trying that. I had the steak sandwich, which was out of this world delicious. I especially liked that it was on flatbread and not a big fatty piece of bread so you could enjoy the steak/garlic mayo/cheese/fried onions. Tried a bite of the crispy and the ragu, both were delicious.

The atmosphere in the place is really nice. It's not too trendy but not too hole in the wall cutesy italian restaurant. The staff was fairly attentive, there were a few times where we were sitting around going "i wish I had more water" or "When do you think they'll come give us the check since we didn't want dessert?" if you get what I mean.

So minus a star because I wish this place were a LITTLE bit cheaper and the staff were more... awake?

Mike's Delicatessen

My boyfriend and I just moved to Bay Ridge from Williamsburg and are on our quest for a new deli (as we heavily relied upon Late Night Deli on Metropolitan Ave in WB for quick bites, etc) and thought we would give Mike's a try.

The sandwiches aren't bad, they're just not worth the $7 a piece it averaged out to. If you're going to charge that much, I want avocado, bacon, etc included in addition to actually putting the mayo on my sandwich as I requested. In regards to the last part of that previous sentence, I ordered mayo on my sandwich and instead of putting it on said sandwich they put mayo in a little tub, wrapped it in cling wrap and put a knife in the bag with our sandwiches for me to put on myself. A bit confusing and slightly annoying, but not in a *omg I'm a Yelp foodie jerk snob* sort of way. Just thought that was a bit out of character.

We'll probably give this place another go after they remodel, which apparently is supposed to be happening soon.

Despite my previous review where the staff was far from awesome, I've kept coming here every now and again. They've definitely picked up the slack on service and the food is still delicious.

I feel like they may have raised the prices just a tad since I first started going there, but then again, isn't everyone these days?

Also, gouda mac & cheese. Just shut up and do it already. And add bacon.

It's a shame that the service is so awful, because this place would be a fine establishment otherwise. I've been here for brunch, lunch, dinner, etc. and every time I find myself wondering where the heck my server is.

With that being said, their drinks are fairly decently priced, their omelets are delicious (but sometimes not very hot....from the server letting it sit in the kitchen while they chat up their friend who came in to get free food or something), their BBQ chicken is pretty good. Their waffles..... are amazing.

Getcha some new servers and I'll adjust the stars above :)

Everything that everyone else says about this place is true! Oh my gosh. I am so glad we Yelped around for fantastic thai because that is EXACTLY what we got! The Money Bags are super delicious, the pumpkin curry knocks it out of the park. We also had the pineapple fried rice and it was just as delicious (just not as exciting because we've had it before).

El Loco Burrito

Neighborhood: Williamsburg - North Side

To this day I'm not sure what people are expecting from a place with a name like El Loco Burrito. It is no secret that the chef/cooks at this establishment aren't looking to redefine the Mexican food industry by any means. For pete's sake, people. IT'S JUST YOUR LOCAL BURRITO JOINT!

Anyway, after passing by this place for almost 2 years, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by and pick up some food on the way home one day and were pleasantly surprised at how not god awful this place was (the exterior is a bit dingy and thus led us to think food poisoning was on the horizon). The ingredients are simple. The availability of substitutions (black for pinto beans, etc) is a thoughtful touch for those dreaming of skipping the sour cream *also known as looking for healthier options*. Their horchata is great. Loved their guacamole. Didn't care so much for their salsa.

What's especially nice about this place is that their service is FAST. We have yet to dine in, but we're never standing around waiting for our take-out and I've gotten delivery from them in under 20 minutes of placing my order before! They're polite on the phone with you. I mean really, do you need much more than that?

Again, my snobby fellow Williamsburgers, if you are looking for some place to pick apart about whether or not their mole sauce is cutting edge enough, please walk a few blocks down the street to Mesa Coyoacan and have at it. If you just want a freaking burrito and don't want to get on the L to find a Chipotle or a Taco Bell, please come hang out with me at El Loco Burrito.

Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles

I am glad that I live in New York because if I lived as close to this place as my friend does I would have died of a heart attack by now.

I ordered the Carol C. Special which is a chicken breast and a waffle. The chicken breast was ENORMOUS, juicy and breaded to perfection. Whatever magical spice mix they have has got ahold of my heartstrings and will not let go.

The waffle was pretty standard all by itself. The butter and the syrup, however, absolutely made that whole experience awaken the fat kid inside of me. I am typically the kind of person who will remove the large scoop of butter that gets tossed on top of pancakes or waffles and carefully add minimal amounts where is needed and end up with over half of the scoop still left on my plate when I am done. All it took was one little taste of their butter on my pinky (for a second I thought it might be whipped cream because their butter is so fluffy so I tasted to make sure) and I immediately smeared the entire scoop on my waffle and then doused it in syrup. Combining that with the chicken breast and I found myself in fat kid heaven.

Be sure to ask how much food you're getting if you've never been there before. My boyfriend underestimated how much deliciousness he was getting and ended up with half of a chicken and 2 waffles, which he ate, and then was miserable for over an hour because he was so stuffed.

Oh yeah, the jazz club next door is pretty cool. The mimosas were tasty and got a chance to enjoy some Stevie Wonder covers before we were seated for our feast.
