It's a burger and fries joint.  What more can ya say?
They don't have 20 different kinds of burgers, nothing unusual or different IMHO.  
 While yes the burger was good and the fries were good but nothing that made me loose my breath and go crazy over.
 It's better then Wendy's or BK as it should be for the price you pay but well maybe I'm just not a burger junkie.

Place was clean, service was good and well ya it's a burger joint LOL

We did a bit of a Pub crawl this weekend in Downtown Gulfport.
Had lunch at The Half Shell, moved over to The Quarter and then finished it up relaxing at Watson's.

When you walk into Watson's you just immediately get a warm vibe. Very relaxing. It was still early on a Sat so I think was just a few folks lounging around.
My friends chose to sit at the bar which to me was totally confusing.
This place has BEAUTIFUL leather furniture. Couches, chairs, nice wood coffee tables and end tables. It screamed to me "come, sit and relax" but anyway we sat at the bar =/
Service was excellent with a decent wine list.

So if your trying to avoid the overly loudness of a typical bar I really think this is a great place to hang out and be able to chat with friends.
Something else cool, the place is named after the owners dog!

The Quarter is the new cool place to hang out IMHO ;)
Just recently opened and still working out a few kinks, like the front door doesn't close on it's own =/
But other then a few things that need to be tweaked this place is just a kick back, relaxed fun place to hang out.
Bands playing, Football games on the TV's, good service and great drinks.
Heck you can even get some muchie food as well.

Just what Downtown Gulfport needed!

So yes, it's an Olive Garden and the same as all other Olive Garden's.
But I do have to say that the service is always top notch.  Pleasent and friendly and you are never left waiting.

 The Mussles as an app is a MUST!  Salad and bread are always fresh and good.
 Main dishes always come out fast, hot and good flavors.  Decent wine list and just an all around good place to eat.

While nothing we ordered was horrible it was less then what we expected.
Looking from the outside the place catches your attention, walking in it seems like a cool laid back place to hang out.
We just stopped in for Apps and drinks. Walked in and no hostess in site, no worries we were going to the bar anyway.

Sat at the bar and was quickly waited on by the bartender. Ordered up the drinks and apps.
Service was quick and the food came out fast as well.
As a previous reviewer wrote, we got the Christmas dip and sure enough the dang chips were stale. They suck you in to the Christmas dip because they really don't tell you what is in it, other than sausage.
OK for me cream cheese and sausage DO NOT mix. YUCK!
Also ordered the tuna dip, you're normally safe with this one ;-)
Only one type of cracker served with the tuna dip and that is saltines :(
Would have been nice to have a bit more selection on crackers. You know maybe club crackers or Melba toast or pita chips? something other then the run of the mill saltines.

Again while nothing was really bad, nothing was really good either.
Would we go back, nope. Nothing really stood out and begged us to come back.
Oh and we were there at about 7pm on a Friday night and there were tons of open seats. Does that tell you anything? Most places are packed on Friday and Sat nights.

Half Shell has just opened up and I gotta say, you would think that they have always been around. Things run so smoothly
Services is very customer friendly, quick to your table to take your order. A very nice atmosphere and you just feel comfortable in the Half Shell.
I've tried quite a few dishes even in this short time they have been open. My favorite so far as has been the App. of Crab Cakes and I add a side of Asparagus with the Gorgonzola butter. HEAVEN!
The Crab Cakes have the perfect amount of crab, are very moist and two fills me up perfectly. The asparagus is nicely grilled to perfect doneness then topped with the butter and Gorgonzola. I wasn't sure about having Gorgonzola on my asparagus, as I'm a hollandaise person but this is a great change from hollandaise.
Other items I've tried were the Seafood stuff portobello mushrooms. EXCELLENT, the Chicken Half shell was also excellent. You could just about cut the chicken with a fork it was that tender. I'm not a real chicken fan but it was suggested I try this dish and I'm thrilled I did.
What the Half Shell is named after, of course OYSTERS! Several choices to chose from here and my favorite is the Bienville. Running a close second is the Charbroiled.
Not taking anything away from the others but these are my favorites.

For dessert I've tried 2 items. The Bananas Foster Cheesecake is heavenly. I had to force myself to try another dessert on my second trip. That was the Cinnamon roll bread pudding. It's served in a martini glass and gives the effect of chucks of Cinnamon rolls to look like ice cubes. While it's a nice idea I think it could have been more bread puddingie (made up word I know)

The whole layout of this restaurant just really has a comfortable feel. Whether you're sitting at one of the tables or hanging out at the bar it's never a stuffy feeling.
While it's not a total stuffed shirt type location it's also not a flip flop, tank top sort of place.
I guess I would say it's a stuffed shirt type of clientele but no one has the stuffed shirt attitude, if that makes sense.

Basically just what Gulfport NEEDED, great place to hang out and have a drink, grab lunch or dinner, suck down some raw oysters while feeling kick back and relaxed doing it all.

First time for me to try Lil Rays.
Walked in and was seated quickly. For those who have never been it's sort of picnic style tables that you sit at. Pull out bench seating.
So a relaxed type of atmosphere.
Server was quickly to our table and got our drink orders and app. order as well.
We ordered the smoked tuna dip and was the perfect amount and the flavor was very good.
Our dinners were, (his) grilled Mahi which came with steamed broccoli and cauliflower. (slightly undercooked and crunchy) and some sort of new potato which left much to be desired. They were luke warm and basically small red potatoes cut in half. I did see some green stuff sprinkled on top so I'm assuming it was some sort of herb but the flavor was boiled potato.
Now the fish was cooked perfectly and well seasoned and excellent.
I ordered the special of the night which was crab cakes and a skewers of shrimp. Let me tell you, the crab cakes were OUT OF THIS WORLD!! I have never tasted better. They were cooked just perfectly, excellent flavor and well what else can I say, they were just plain excellent.
Shrimp on the skewers, eh they were OK, not great but in no way bad
My plate also had the veggies and potatoes.

All total the meal and tip was around $65. Not cheap but I feel a fair price for the meals we ordered.
I would go back time and time again for the tuna dip and the crab cakes!

While it's been quite some time since I have the joys of chowing down on a Pizza King pizza I can tell you this much, you DON'T forget what it's all about
The BEST pizza ever, hands down, no questions, just flat out awesome.
I favor the Seafood pizza and have yet to have one that even comes close to Pizza Kings.
Next fav is the Hawaiian. While it's a tad sweet for some folks it's something to try.
Basically they have so many super pizzas I couldn't even try to list them all.

Oh on a side note, they have wings that will make you cry they are so hot. Heck even the smell of them will bring tears to your eyes, even thinking about them my eyes are already watering ;-)

It's a hard to find place, basically you take a dirt road until you reach about the middle of no where, then you make a left and continue on down a dirt road until you are now just left of the middle of no where.
and BAMB, there it is, sitting right next to the most peacefully lake you have ever seen.
Well worth the drive, you will not be disappointed!

We have been meaning to try Steve's for quite some time so figured the other day to give it a go.
While it wasn't bad it wasn't good either and for the cost we wouldn't go again.
Waited at the hostess stand for quite a few moments before the guests in front of us were seated. We took a peak in the bar and it was pretty open so sat bar side.
Ordered up an app of crab cake, was pretty good, nothing show stopping but was good. Nice crust, tender and juicy inside, all around good.
I got a Caesar salad and umm OK MAJOR mistake. I'm not sure if they don't know what a Caesar dressing is or just total suck at making it but, ya it was horrible. Thin, not much of it and no flavor at all, nadda, nothing, zip. Give me anchovies or at least a taste of anchovies PLEASE I beg you

I don't recall the name of the dish I ordered but it was a fish over angel hair pasta with a lemon sauce. The sauce was tasteless, no it was less then tasteless if that is even possible.
Angel hair was totally over cooked. Yes, I'm a pasta freak, give me some body to my pasta please.
Now on a good note the fish was well cooked :)
Total for the night, 2 people, drinks, app and dinner, out the door we were at about $90
Yup I felt slightly raped, no lets be honest, we were totally hosed ;-)

I have to TOTALLY agree with Remy when he says
"this is a one of Gulfport's hidden gems when it comes to BBQ"
NO JOKE!
Pulling up to AnJac's I was thinking to myself "oh brother, this is going to be interesting" it really did look like just a carry out BBQ place.
Was happy to find seating off to the right, and the service was EXCELLENT. Food was equal to the service.

Oh and can you say twice baked potato?? Oh yeah! I'm in love.
Sure wish it was closer to home but will definitely take the drive to fill my BBQ desires here
