this place is the last thing i would expect to find near a train yard in west oakland. homeless people and taggers, for sure, but not a cute little breakfast spot dishing up soul food. i ordered the chicken and waffles and enjoyed my meal overall, but the waffles could've been more substantial. they felt sort of flimsy and kind of disintegrated in the mouth. but now i'm just nit-picking. my one real gripe, however, is that they weren't worth $14. if they had been 8.95 i would've kept the secret to my grave.

i was taken here for my birthday and had such a great time. we had a fireplace in our cabin and an awesome porch swing that overlooked the canyon. the management even sent over champagne, candles, and a box of chocolates. the chocolates tasted like shit, but it was the thought that counted.
if you can, try to go mid-week. that way you'll get the hot tub to yourself.

my room was on the 43rd floor with phenomenal views of the city. i felt like one rich bitch.
oh, and here's a handy tip - if you forget your phone charger, at home just get one from the front desk and have them charge your phone for you. that's the service you pay for when you're shelling out beaucoup bucks on a swank hotel room

hot, hot, fresh bread - of the artichoke and garlic variety. i can't really add to the other reviews, so I'll just leave it at that.
