At some point you go out to dinners with friends and just want to have everything be perfect. This was it. Sarah turns [redacted birthday age] and we go out for a nice meal. Champagne to start, appetizers to nibble on, main courses to die for and wine that was so perfect.

Service should be top notch no matter where you go and especially at a place like this. When the waiter/host? (whoever you were tonight, thank you - we should have gotten your name and you were amazing) attended to us he was more then attentive. And when everything we asked about had the answer of "Killer", 4 girls just have to smile and swoon a bit.

The dinner is cooked on four fire grills downstairs. 3 of us ordered the chicken which was PERFECTION. Order the peanuts appetizer. They're warm...and have bacon with them? Die.

The place was quiet, but it was a Monday and I can see this being a great date spot in the Village. Come. Now. Take someone for a birthday, a client dinner, something fancy. You'll enjoy it.

This really has become a go to staple place for me in the Union Square/Chelsea area. You can always get a table, the service is quick and the space is perfect to enjoy a meal and catch up with a friend - not yell at them across the table.

If you know what's good for you, get the brussel sprouts and thank me later. Also try one of the many specials that are always changing and always yummy.

Update - 12/5/2011
I hate to add this, but after the rude service the other night I just have to. Service is big. As in, if I am in your location and want to get a service that I'm willing to pay for - you should be accommodating. I stopped by ivy at 8:45 knowing that they were open until 10...something I've always loved. Figuring I had enough time, i mentioned I needed a manicure to the lady who was running the desk.

There were only 2 girls working that night and 2 people getting nails done with 1 waiting. I figured this would be at leas 20 minutes, but hey I had time.

The woman told me to wait until 9. No problem. I sit down. Put my bags down and check out some emails.

She comes up again and says, actually it will be 9:15.

Again, no problem. Really needed a manicure for the upcoming 3 nights of parties I had.

She basically kicked me out telling me to come back at 9:30. I couldn't even wait there and she was extremely rude.

Sorry - a shame. But I'm not coming back here. And my sister experienced something very similar a few days later.

Yes it's clean and they have good colors, but I want to feel welcome.

Looks like I found my new nail salon. (And I only waited 36 hours to find it!)

After moving boxes and unpacking for a day, my nails were in desperate need for a manicure. Walked into Ivy Nails and the amazingly bright yellow walls for a lovely manicure.

Like the reviews say, it's a bit pricey. 15$ for a manicure? I've gotten great mani/pedis for that price but my nails were so bad I needed a huge treatment. Jackie did my nails and we had a lovely conversation. (Yes, she did try to tell me I was stressed----trust me I know! But massage will wait!)

    Will I be back? Absolutely.

There are some shows that are just different. Leaving you gasping at stunts, smiling and swooning all during a 90 minute performance. Traces is that show.

Located at the Union Square Theater (great theater, spacious, not packed in like some of the other Broadway address theaters) the show is a high impact, musical, acrobatic and energetic performance by 7 artists hailing from (mainly) Montreal with moves resembling Lincoln Center ballerinas, Cirque du Soleil performers and So You Think You Can Dance dancers.

The performers are brilliant. Extremely good looking (read: smoking hot), funny and charming within the first few moments of meeting them. You can't believe how they can move so effortlessly and they barely look like they're breaking a sweat. They jump through hoops. Literally. They climb up fireman poles and jump across the stage without nets or a wire. They fly and launch themselves using each other as a springboard all while moving along to the music that fits the show PERFECTLY. Heck, Radiohead's TalkShow Host was one of the performance numbers, and probably one of my favorites.

Do yourself a favor, go see Traces.  Everyone will like it.

250 wines.

I couldn't find a specific Wine Riot event page to review, so let's combine and write about that event + the amazing space that is Skylight One Hanson.

Second Glass WineRiot - http://secondglass.com...
250 wines = 250 tasting opportunities of reds, whites, sparkling, full body, you name it
Friendly people not pushing their wines on you to buy, because well, they can't due to the license of the building. So what does that mean? DRINK. Some booths gave you a drop, others gave you a glass. This resulted in much stumbling, laughing, sleeping (some girl fell asleep on the floor), eating (my friend had THREE lobster rolls...THREE)

The space
Gorgeous
You can hang out in a BANK VAULT
Someone please have an awesome event (or wedding) and invite me to it. The ceilings are gorgeous, the architecture breathtaking and it's right near every damn subway so there's no excuse to not make it.

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark

Saw it last night. Seats were in the "Flying" sections which means that 1)no one can fall on you 2)Spider-Man literally jumps on a ledge 2 feet from your seats.

Here's my review.
Stunts: Unreal. Flying Spiderman and Green Goblin all over the theater. Literally, flying and jumping right before your eyes. You won't see that in Billy Elliot, that's for sure. This was probably the best part of the entire show.
Actors: Voices were unbelievable. Reeve Carney (Spiderman) and Jennifer Damiano (Mary Jane) will be Broadway big timers soon enough.
Set: Overproduced. I mean, was that treadmill in the middle of the stage needed to let the audience know they were "walking through town?" No.
Music: OK. I think. None really stuck to me, but it wasn't bad. And they had a ringtone go off that was U2's "Beautiful Day" so bravo on the inside jokery there. Very rock, power songs but there was no "Seasons of Love" that I was dying to go buy.
Story: This is where I'm confused. I don't know if there was one. I know the story of Spiderman. But they also added 3 other lines in there that kind of messed it all up.
Costumes: AMAZING. The other goblins looked unreal and amazing. They should win endless awards for this (did they?)
Overall: I won't be running back to see it again, but I think the experience in itself is worth seeing. It's different. It is more of a "visual show" than a Broadway musical. It's edgier and you feel like you're watching a mix of technology/3D visuals + Cirque du Soleil in one.

This is a review of their cocktails and the burger. Although I have some beef about that too. GET IT?! BEEF?!

I've been here twice as The Dutch. I remember when this place was Cub Room - still not sure if I'm addicted to this new vibe, but it's growing on me.

The first time I came here we arrived around midnight in search of a burger (read: we had a few beers at a concert)--The Dutch has a late night menu and the burger spoke to us. It's massive. The fries are a bit salty but they're perfect at that point in the night.

The SECOND time we came here a little more on our game and ordered cocktails from the bar before being seated. The Miss Elliot is fantastic. Like a light vodka martini with lavender. Prior to 11pm, we were still in crave mode for the burger.

NO.GO.

Warning: Burgers are on the late night menu. Only after 11. REALLY? It was 10:45.

Lucky for us we had a cool waiter who put the burger in for us prior to the late night menu deadline, but still. Have a burger ready for the people!

And again...worth it. This baby is GOOD.

i want to go on a date here. (fellas)

And while Chantelle K's presence as my brunch partner here was fantastic (as usual) - I can see this place quickly becoming a go to for any type of night. I'll review the brunch (without cocktails as we were both being good and not boozing after a weekend (or 3) in a row of constant alcohol consumption and carbs) - I will be back to review the drinks because they looked amazing on the other tables.

The interior is welcoming. At 12:30 on a Sunday, we immediately got a table. Sparkling water and an iced tea brought by a super friendly waiter. He didn't chit chat - just made sure we had what we needed. I like that. I ordered the chive scramble which included fluffy eggs with pulled pork and baked beans as the plate.

HOLY.GOOD.

CK got the lobster salad - small but she was OK with it.

I'll be back. For dinner. For cocktails. For just a spot at the uber cute bar that looks like a place I could sit at for 5 hours and close the place down.

Hello most amazing brunch I've had in awhile.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

In town for Lollapalooza, the strategy for meals was "stock up like a chipmunk in winter before the day starts and see what happens." This place was a great start for day 2 of the festival.

Located right across from Grant Park, the 3 of us were ready to eat and booze before the day. And, as they say "when on vacation", or I guess that's what I say, we went all out. Starter for the table: the House Putine.  I never had it before, but I will for sure order it any time I see it on a menu or within 30 feet of me.

Eggs Benedict for me as my main, with goat cheese grits (YES, you read that right) on the side. Oh yea plus the bread, and 3 bellinis. Then we were sent over an Irish breakfast which we all devoured.

Oh, and do you want dessert?, the waitress asked knowing very well we'd be convinced---sure! BRING ON THE BEIGNETS! Delicious. Heaven. Heaven in a bowl. All of the above.

Come here for brunch if you are in the area. Order all that we did or anything else, the food is great. Try and snag a booth if you can too. Great for groups, or at least for more space for you to move after your pants start to feel tight.

This place was great. 7 girls, 2 rooms, plan to party, hang out by the pool, eat good food, drink too many cocktails. The hotel served the purpose. Being centrally located on the Strip we were a $5 cab ride from everywhere that required us to not walk in our stilettos.

The pool was PERFECT. The drinks - expensive, but this is Vegas so it's OK. The casino had WAR so my friends were happy. And they didn't judge us at all when we stumbled in late night so that's always a plus :)
