Hungover & starved, I would have ate a doiley with some ketchup on it at this point, we walked into the Sunshine Cafe and I immediately felt at home. The decor is warm & homely, if you like the warm colors of the 70s, which I do. The waitress was super friendly and made us feel like one of her kids.
The food was cooked to order. Fantastic. Coffee was to die for. The prices were just right. My bottomless cup of joe was keeping me awake until the food was ready. When it was placed in front of me, I dove in. An omelette with veggies, cheese on top, with a side of whole wheat toast & homefries. Yea, I ate it all. It was that good & I was that hungry.
Whether you live in the Vegas area or are in town for a vacation, I highly recommend you take your hiney off the strip long enough to find Sunshine Cafe. While it is not in the most desirable areas, the Sunshine Cafe brings some rays of goodness into your life, and your stomach.

Rockhouse Bar and Nightclub
Categories: Dance Clubs, Bars
Walking in, you get a crazy stamp to let you back in - skull & crossbones - my fave!!! No cover charge which is sweet.
The bartenders are super hot. Some are cooler to talk to than others. The cool ones apparently get to swing on the tire swings bolted to the ceiling over the bar. Some of the others just want to their job and not smile, apparently. The promoter who attempts to bring people inside was cool and fun to talk to as well, jumping on top of the bar to grab a drink.
The crowd is decent. Talked to plenty of "new acquaintances" that night that I will never see again, but the conversation was good for the most part.
They have beer pong tables to get your game on ... and cages where dancers must dance on the weekends (I went on a Tuesday night).
The drinks weren't too overpriced for a spot right on the Strip. A shot will run you $8.00 though.
The bathroom, well, there is not a bathroom inside the actual bar. You have to walk across the driveway entrance to the Imperial Palace and release yourself there.
I definitely didn't expect a place like this to be located on the actual Strip but I am definitely glad there is. Wish this would have been open last year when I stayed at IP. I would definitely go back here, but, next time, I am gonna swing on that tire ... ;)

Double Down Saloon
Categories: Dive Bars, Music Venues
When we walked in around 11 p.m., the place was packed. Great crowd inside, if you are into the punk scene and laid back vibe, which I most certainly am.
The Apocalyptics were on stage, and they were insane. I loved there vibe. They were intoxicating and fun to watch, as they put their ALL into their performance. A crazy regular, I assume, was mashing all over the place and ended up taking someone else down with him. Poor girl.
The drinks are pretty cheap. I must highly recommend the house "ass juice" - cheap and sweet. And leaves you buzzed. A must try if you happen to follow my advice and check out this spot. Not to mention, the bartenders are cool and quick to get you your next drink.
One gripe, the ladies bathroom door does not lock easily, so be prepared to have a fight for your privacy or have the door open on you mid-stream (as it did to me). Bathroom decor was crazy cool, by the way.
So, the next time you are on a quest for a uber cool dive bar, I highly recommend stopping by the Double Down and having a great time. You won't regret it.
When walking in, I was looking to kill some time. The associate greeted me immediately and was extremely friendly.
She was very patient, explaining the products and their benefits to me. She did not rush me at all. Their products are all natural. A bit pricey but worth the cash, as they make you feel fabulous when you use them.
I left more than I planned in this store, because I could NOT pass up buying the Karma soap, the solid perfume oil, the Jack bath bomb, and a few other goodies.
I definitely recommend anyone who has not checked out Lush in person yet and is in Vegas to pass by this store and let them explain the products to you. I guarantee you that you will walk out with at least one product and loving their products.

Crown & Anchor Pub
Categories: Pubs, Sports Bars, British
We stopped at Crown & Anchor. First of all, let me say that I was impressed with the decor. Being that I have been in London, it was pretty "accurate" with the Pub vibe.
Service was A BIT SLOW, and they were NOT that busy. However, this seems to be a recurring factor in Vegas. No one seems to move. Maybe it is just that I am from the NYC area and like things promptly.
We all ordered salads. The salads, I must say, are pretty dang tasty for rabbit food. I was really impressed with it. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the english dressing was fantabulous. Prices were NOT that bad.
I would definitely recommend this place, if you have some time to kill & are NOT in a rush to get in, grab something to eat, and run.
The service is good here. The servers are always friendly. The food is pretty decent for chain food. The prices are pretty good. Not overpriced and good for a party of 6.
I would definitely pass by again. Great location. Plenty of parking. You can even grab a coffee at the end of the shopping center over at my fave Starbucks when you are done ;)

Beach Bum Tanning & Airbrush Salon
Category: Tanning
However, their cancellation policy is a joke. I went in to cancel a week before the normal billing date.
Rather than just cancel my membership, the "manager", I believe, behind the desk put my bill through a week early. And then was rude to me after I told him I wanted to cancel. Definitely not a way to make a return customer or have someone rave about you on http://yelp.com ... for that you get a roar!!
Just for that reason alone, I will never go back to this place. They are overpriced for a tanning salon in little old East Rutherford to begin with. Clean - yes. Good booths - yes. Customer service - makes the people at McDonalds look like award winners for their service "with a smile".
I've eaten there. Ordered take out. Had food delivered.
No matter how I get the goods, there is only one thing that can be said - this food is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
The food is slightly expensive. However, it is worth it because they give you enough food that it is comparable to the price. It's like ordered a dish that serves two.
If you order the Bandeja Paisa, I must warn you - you better be hungry or ready to share with someone or store it as left overs. There is crazy food for that dish.
Oh, and their empanadas are the best I have ever had.
Needless to say, I am a huge fan of this place. I recommend the Villa de Columbia to anyone that loves Columbian food.
The dame who answered the phone was super nice and helpful. She told me 45 minutes to be delivered to Teterboro, which I thought was totally understandable (as it was during lunch hour).
Thirty-five minutes later, the food comes a-walking through the door. I was impressed. It was hot and smelling good. I ordered the Pollo Saltado (thin-sliced breast w/ onions, peppers, tomato, cilantro, shoestring fries over white rice), with black beans & rice. An avocado salad on the side please. The food was so good.
I highly recommend this place to all in the area. Also they deliver for free (with a $10 minimum order) to Wood Ridge, Carlstadt, Moonachie, Teterboro, East Rutherford, Wallington, Hasbrouck Heights & Little Ferry.
I'd like to keep it all to myself but without business, this place can't stay open. So I must spread the word so it can stay open for my latin-american food cravings .... which are quite often.
Date

Being I was in Las Vegas twice in a month, I stopped by the Harley Davidson location twice (one time was because apparently all shops off the strip close at 6 p.m. on a Saturday night - gay - and this one was still open at 6:30 p.m.)
The service representatives are super friendly here, as are the cashiers. The store is kept well, despite all the drunks walking in from bars across the way.
The prices, well, they are just about average that you would find at a Harley Davidson shop (if you have been to one before, you know that their stuff can run a bit steep, as you are paying for the HD name).
$122 later, I walk out with my hooded sweatshirt (that was more expensive in Philadelphia), a t-shirt for a friend, a patch for their vest, and some free candy (as it was Halloween).
So, if you are ever in the area and are passing by this location, pop in and say hi. You will not be disappointed.
