Rickhouse reminds me of Bourbon & Branch. Saloon-like. Great atmosphere, a decent selection of drinks, live music, a good crowd. Would definitely come back here again.
Overpriced Thai food. Mediocre sushi. We should have known when we walked in to the empty restaurant. We wanted sushi but there was an hour wait at Arigato, so we decided to give East a try despite the other Yelp reviews.
They got one of the orders wrong & took twenty minutes getting our check to us after we were done eating, even though we were the only party in the restaurant the entire time we were dining there (this was dinner time, btw). The portions for the Thai food should have been twice what we received considering the price we paid.
Also, the lady who took our order had an attitude. She kept asking us, "Do you know what that means?" As if we couldn't read the menu.
I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone.

I've never met an honest mechanic until I met Vic.
I've taken my car here a few times. The first time was to get my brakes replaced, & Vic was able to price match my dad's mechanic. The next time, I was having a stalling issue, but Vic wasn't able to diagnose the problem. He also didn't charge me anything for inspecting my car.
My most recent visit there was for a tune-up, oil change & a look at a couple of other problems. Vic called me on the phone a couple of hours after I took it in to let me know the work that needed to be done & broke down the cost of the parts & labor before doing any work on my car. I appreciate that.
Overall, friendly service & competitive prices. I won't take my car anywhere else!

Rice Broker gets 3.5 stars from me.
Four stars for the food. My boyfriend & I ordered three bowls between the two of us (we didn't eat all the rice!). The tuna poke was my favorite, but there wasn't enough tuna! Crispy chicken & beef were also delish.
I do have a couple of complaints, however. It was really drafty in the restaurant - does their door not close or something? I was freezing & I wasn't even sitting near the door! Also, it takes about 25 minutes for you to get your food. The service is okay.
Overall, I did enjoy the food.

Once I saw the pictures of the pancakes on Yelp, I KNEW I had to come here for brunch.
Yes, the danish pancakes are some of the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. No, that's not an overstatement. I also ordered a side of the cinnamon apples. It's a lot of carbs & sugar, but it's worth it!
I also had some eggs & bacon, but nothing to write home about. Coffee was okay. Service was bleh. That's why I gave Paula's Pancake House three stars
I'll come here again just for the pancakes.

Delicious Italian food in Solvang. We came here during my best friends bachelorette party weekend & thoroughly enjoyed the food.
We ordered the Marco & Gorlomi pizzas. The Gorlomi was definitely a hit, as we devoured it within 10 minutes. I ordered mushroom ravioli, which was also delicious. Ordered a bottle of prosecco between the five of us, which was light & perfect for the dinner.
Our server was really sweet! Highly recommended if you're in Solvang.

Stopped by here around 2AM on a Saturday night. El Farolito totally hits the spot when you've been out drinking all night & get the munchies. I got a carne asada burrito - they are ginormous & I ended up only eating 1/3 of it. My bf's chorizo taco smelled amazing. I'm getting that the next time I come here. I'm giving it three stars, because I'm pretty sure I came here once when I wasn't drunk and I was not super impressed.
Upgrading Hanami Sushi to 4 stars. Fish has been consistently fresh & everything I've ever ordered here has been delicious. One of my favorite lunch spots! I love their lunch specialist. My favorites include the sushi combo & the spicy tuna bowl.

I give Hanami Sushi 3.5 stars.
I've been here a couple of times for lunch, since I work right up the street & I enjoyed the food both times. I typically order the lunch special of sushi & a roll.
While the fish is fresh & tasty, it's definitely no where near the best sushi I've ever had. Regardless, it's a great spot for lunch. The service isn't bad, either.
I'll be back!

A conversation at work about tacocopters led one of my colleagues to suggest lunch at Santa Fe Cafe aka "the taco place on the other side of the 101."
I ordered a chicken taco & a beef taco, with parmesan encrusted tortillas. The parmesan on the tortillas were an interesting twist on regular tortillas. I say "interesting" because I'm not sure if I like them that way. The meat was not overly greasy and they had a few different salsas to choose from at the salsa bar. Overall, a solid three star taco place.
No ambiance, service was bleh & chips were slightly stale. The good news is that I didn't get sick after eating here. (Sometimes, my body just doesn't agree with Mexican food.)

Had lunch with my sister at Saru a little over a week ago & I really enjoyed the food.
I'm a loyal fan of Tataki South, but Saru is just half a block away from my boyfriend's apartment in Noe Valley, so I decided to give it a try.
My sis & I ordered the hamachi sashimi with truffle oil, the White Out roll topped with seared butterfish (soooo good), tuna & avocado on nori rice cracker & sushi (salmon & scallop). I can't remember if we ordered anything else. There was a lot of fried stuff on the menu & we tried to stay away from those items.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience. The meal came out to about $60 for two people, slightly pricey for lunch, but totally worth it since the food was delish. The only complaint I have is that the service was kind of slow, but that's expected of a new restaurant. They're probably still trying to nail down the processes. I'll definitely be back!
