My friend and I came here for a quick (er... 2 hours?) bite before a show in bowery ballroom.

The place is decent and clean. The food is so-so. We ordered frog legs, a burger, croquettes and drinks. I figure, okay, decent beer food. And there is a room in the back, where you are out of the service's vicinity. We were seated there.

Though the service was pleasant, I had to walk up to the waitress 3 times (once for water, then hot sauce, then bill) because no one seems to go in there. So if you ever go here, just sit out in the front where they can see you.

But they did tell me they just opened and they're still feeling their way around. So maybe give it a while till they get their flow going before letting them seat you back there.

I'm just happy that it is where it is, bringing ceci cela pastries closer to my workplace and, as mentioned, robicelli cupcakes. Aside from the croissants, I've tried their (I assumed, in house) cookies, which are slightly on the sugary and brittle side.

I love this woman's carrot cake. You dont need frosting on it and has a good amount of spice and walnuts. Its crumbly but moist.  Not too heavy and not too sweet. (though I will admit, It wouldnt hurt to add a touch of cream cheese frosting. Just a touch. Like a loving peck in the cheek really.)

I'm on the borderline of sending a letter to congress to legalize marriage to objects. But I guess this marriage wouldnt last long. I dont think it can even last until engagement. Not to mention the first date.

I would really like to try the rest of her food but for some reason, I cant get past that carrot cake.

Also, I came by here at 9:10 in the morning and I catch her making everything on the spot. It felt like catching your mom in the kitchen making that something special in the holidays.

When you come here, make sure you meet up with punctual friends. because the friends who arent punctual will give you another 30 minutes of wait time because Prune wont let you in without a full party, even if you were one of the first people in line (meaning, waiting 40 minutes before they opened.)

But the 3 stars isnt because of the delay. No. Its for the "its a good, decent brunch place that serves the same brunch dishes as the rest of new york." The service was nice. the food was good, just not... as enticing as I expected them to be.

You, my good sir, has appeased my craving for kati rolls for $3 Unlike a certain bullshit other vendor that sells them for $7. You are now my new indian go-to for lunch because not only are you generous but highly delicious.

You are a pig if you think that you can finish the entire sandwich in 15 minutes by yourself. First you say, "Damn its huge! I'll save some for tomorrow."

Then it turns into "Shit, it wont be as hot and toasty as right now."

And after your final bite, "I should have gotten chips with that."

Damn right, you should.

The food's pretty good. What kind of converted me a little bit was the soft tofu soup that came with the two person bbq. It was very nice and comforting for cold weather. we even forgot to put in the egg cause it was pretty good on its own. I'm sure it would be even better with the egg though.

But one of the nice points about this place was the pretty accommodating service when I came in with my sister's family and her two kids. Definitely a kid friendly place and a nice staff.

What I normally get in a bakery (plain pineapple bun and milk tea) is $1.85. These wonderful ladies give it to you for $1.40. I feel like like canal street is definitely over priced.

Their pineapple buns dont sit in the display rack. They put it in those little tray carts behind them so they're nice, warm and crunchy when they give it to you.
