Le Moose Crepe Cafe

Like others have said, It's amazing the photographic memory the owner, Nikki, has. She always remembers what I order (even if it's months in between visits) and is so welcoming and friendly. I've only had the dinner crepes & I love the Le Moose Sunrise and the (spicy) Thai chicken crepes!

I've had both the prime rib and bbq tri tip on different occasions & and daaamn they are both wicked good. The meat is tender & juicy and the bread is buttered & toasted just right. The sandwiches look deceivingly small but they will fill you up.

Slow and poor service. We came for brunch on a late Sunday afternoon when it wasn't too busy (plenty of empty tables) and sat on the Arizona St. side outdoors.  Our waiter didn't bring out any bread for starters. He then forgot one of our orders and had to come by and ask again. The food then took forever to arrive...nearly 45 mins for a panini and an omlette. Evidently the 2 girls next to us also had their order screwed up so they had to wait even longer for their meal as well. The Italian sausage omlette was soupy although the veggie pannini was not bad. We has to ask the waiter twice for the bill, and then when we paid, we didn't get all our change back. Disappointed.

Frodo Joe's Le Petit Cafe

This location used to be a Juice Zone but Frodo Joe's recently moved in. It was rainy and pretty late & they had just opened for business recently so it was slow -- guess it'll take some time for the word to get out, but it was great for us since we had the whole place to ourselves. We had a nice chat with the owners and ends up they also have locations up in San Lorenzo and Hayward.

I ordered the super crepe (i was craving eggs for some reason which this crepe had) and a hot chamomile tea. The tea came in a the hugest cup I've ever seen. I think the super crepe also came with tomatoes, ham, greens, and mozzarella cheese -- it definitely hit the spot. :) The side of fresh fruit was delicious as well.

I'm looking forward to going back again and trying out more items from their menu (the have smoothies and sweet crepes as well).

i tried this place out for lunch when it first opened, and I was really underwhelmed. I had the chicken w/green beans dish and the chicken was totally overdone and dry. Not to mention it was a pretty small portion for the price (not that I want to eat a feast for lunch, but I was still hungry once I finished).

The space is nicely done, though, and my coworkers and I had drinks there after work once. So for drinks, I'd do it again, but a little hesitant to try the food out again.

I really like the Abbot's Habit (roast beef) sandwich here. So much so that I try to hit up Erik's at least once a week. The staff is friendly and the food is prepared pretty quickly.

There is some outside seating as well, for those warm, sunny days. Not that there is anything to see outside, other than the Target across the street, but it sure beats sitting inside the dark interior since the only windows are at the front of the establishment.

Patxi's Chicago Pizza

For the poor souls (me included) that aren't close to Zachary's in Berkeley, Patxi's is essentially the South Bay/Peninsula version.

The pies take a long while to cook, but we ordered ahead of time and our pie came out just a few minutes after being seated -- definitely the way to go.

Parking can be challenging since it's right off University Ave, so make sure to give yourself some time to hunt down a parking spot if you're going during peak time.

Yogurt Delight

This place rocks. It's sort of a hole in the wall place located in a small strip mall on the corner of Thornton and Dusterberry, but don't let the looks deceive you -- the frozen yogurts are really good. During the hot months I usually go by at least once a week

The yogurts are either non-fat or sugar free and both are equally tasty. Cookies & cream and pistachio are my favorites. Most of the flavors are on rotation but cookies & cream appears to be a permanent flavor.

I usually get a mini or a small (small will run you $2.85). The small is pretty big IMO, so I don't know how people can get the even larger sizes.

i ordered a super chicken burrito combo tonight but there wasn't anything super about it. The the guy behind the counter didn't seem to know what he was doing and burrito was average. I've driven by many times and never seem to see anyone inside which I've always found odd (like, how do they stay in business??). One of the other reviews mentioned that perhaps it's a popular spot w/the students @ nearby Washington High, so maybe that's how they manage to stay open. I want to support the small local eateries, but probably won't be visiting here again since I was underwhelmed by the food (and I wasn't expecting much anyways).

I've eaten lunch here many times over the last 3 years as work is a short walk away. It seems to be a fairly popular downtown SJ lunch spot as it's always busy when I go there, but not so busy that you can't get seated right away. You'll find mainly suits/worker bees at lunch, but it's a pretty casual atmosphere. It's pretty close to the SJSU campus but i can't remember ever seeing students eat here during the lunch hour  -- probably because it's not the cheapest lunch spot (but not ripoff expensive)

I usually order one of the lunch specials (cashew nut chicken or tiger prawns) and they are decent. I can't speak to how it's like for dinner, but this is a decent place to go for lunch as you'll be in and out in an hour.
