dentists scare me but she did not. she was really personable and did such an amazing job.
i really recommend going here for your dental needs, the staff is nice and she was just the best dentist ever!
i am grateful i found her! plus the location is stellar, right between mission/valencia on 17th.

Lake Merritt BART Station
Category: Public Transportation
Neighborhood: Lake Merritt
the bart station, just has the strangest people ever. nothing like in the city or berkeley. my first day commuting from here, i did not know where to park my bike so i asked the attendant, he was very rude and left me standing there for about 7 minutes while he finished his conversation (and i missed my train/was late for work).
the ride here, on a bike is dangerous. all of oakland feels dangerous on a bike. i have to ride the sidewalks because the cars to/from this bart station do not have any regard for bicyclers or pedestrians.
the ride to the city though, from the east bay could not be better. only one stop between embarcadero and lake merrit, which is west oakland. so the train ride is only about 10 minutes which is great because by the time the train makes it here there is not a seat (does not bother me to stand).
all in all, my 2.5 weeks in oakland have been awful. the worst, is the ride to this bart station every morning/night.

Baggy's by the Lake

downfalls.. the jukebox has some oldies but goodies, what annoyed me was the regulars seem to have the jukebox memorized so anytime anybody plays a song that the regulars have heard one too many times they comment out loud about the music. sort of annoying just because not everybody is there everyday, and honestly the jukebox has some songs i might not ever listen to on my own anymore but are fun on occasion.
i say that, but should mention the regulars were warm and welcoming. i know they don't mean to be annoying when they say "burn this CD PLEASE", but i wanted to mention that the atmosphere/bar is really stellar!
anyway, a great little dive bar!

Sushi California
Categories: Sushi Bars, Japanese
i did not know what to think of the "sushi buffet" so i figured, why not..!
well, i should have known better, i can barely finish miso soup and 4-6 rolls so why the heck did i need a 20 dollar + tip buffet..
i ordered anyway..
i left feeling BURNT.. i had 1/2 a bowl of soup, and about 6 rolls and i was stuffed.
i guess the sushi was OK, not the best about equal to the quality you'd find anywhere, but my advice is unless you are HUNGRY, just order a few rolls otherwise its a rip off.
not the consensus of other reviews.. but 20 bucks for 1/2 a bowl of soup and 5 veggie rolls is too much money.
i will not go back, here.

i found a few cute shirts here too...
there is no smell here and the staff was nice...
they did ask if i needed a bag, when i was checking out. i mean it was sort of obvious i needed one -- i guess they assumed i drive (and i don't)... so i told them that i got there greenly but would need a bag... they sort of giggled but i agree its a lame question simply because i always say when i don't need a bag and try my best not to use them when its not necessary.
i will go back sometime....

Shoe Biz
Category: Shoe Stores
Neighborhood: Noe Valley
i like the noe store the best, i have bought several pairs of shoes from them.
always ALWAYS unique styles you would have a hard time finding other places, and the staff is attentive. they always let my dog come in which is cool (though they don't have any shoes for her little paws :)..
i just think they get some of the most dope shoes in the city, for sure, not always at the noe store, valencia/haight too.
i totally recommend them and will buy many more pairs from them i am sure.
i would go in here for a bagel, then martha bros for coffee..
would be *better* if they were a one stop shop.. but their coffee is about as bad as coffee one might find at a gas station..
they did let, my little furry friend come in which is totally cool and they are very nice/attentive...

i don't understand why sf only has one lesbian bar that caters to people who don't seem to know what a shower is or why the bartenders are so nasty to their customers.
i would never waste another night of my life at this bar. after awhile, you will totally notice the vibe/patrons/staff are wacked out of their minds.
thanks but no thanks. i have a much better time, at other divey bars in the mission.
