An American Place has a special place in my heart. My fiance proposed to me there. Apparently, he had conspired with the management there to plan out the entire proposal. They were superb, I had no idea. The food was phenomenal. The service was exceptional. The waitress brought out a beautiful ceramic bowl with my ring place beautifully in a bed of sea salt. Needless to say, it was all romantic.
Of course, this 5-star restaurant is quite expensive, but it is totally worth it. It is very high class. An American Place will definitely be our anniversary restaurant.

Paul Mineo's Trattoria has sub par customer service. One of the many examples is when the a waiter rolled his eyes when my friends and I requested separate checks. The service is also very slow. I tried this restaurant three times just to make sure I was giving it a fair chance. I know what it's like when you have an off day. But it seems like this restaurant is constantly having an off day.
The food is mediocre. It isn't great and it isn't bad. They do have a yummy chicken cheese steak sandwich though. When they opened their doors several months ago, salad was served as part of the entrees. Now, they charge extra for the salad.
Although I work right next to Paul Mineo's, I now avoid going there.

I am a big fan of tapa-style cuisine. This restaurant is really cozy, classy and fun. The food is great. I love the beef tenderloins and the rabbit pot pie.

The club was nice and classy. My biggest problem was with the DJ. He was absolutely horrible. I would highly recommend that the club owners fire this DJ and replace him with someone who is familiar with mainstream music and can gauge what is keeping people dancing!

My boyfriend and I were introduced to Mai Lee by our friend. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is incredible, and it is cheap. The owner always comes out to greet his customers and to check all is well. We enjoy our experience there so much that we eat at Mai Lee once a week. My favorite dishes are the fried squid, curry combination, and their soup selections!

Philip Johnson Salon

Ever since I arrived to St. Louis three years ago, I have been looking for a hairdresser. Every hairdresser I ever went to was so uncreative with the hair cut. After searching online, a blogger strongly suggested Philip Johnson Salon (PJS).
The salon is so classy and affordable. My hairdresser, Megan at PJS, is amazing! This is the first time I can honestly say I absolutely love my hair. It's stylish, fun and easy to manage. I have received so many compliments. Megan is now my hairdresser and I won't be looking around anymore.
PJS is also a spa, but I haven't tried it out yet. I look forward to doing that soon.

KOKO is a new pan-Latin/Creole fusion restaurant that recently opened in St. Louis. It was mentioned in the Riverfront Times' Best of St. Louis issue for the best guacamole, which was enough reason for us to try it out.
It was a wonderful night so we decided to sit outside. The service was top-notch, which typically isn't the case when dining outdoors. Our waitress was funny, sweet and prompt. The owner took time out of his busy schedule to greet all his guests and make sure everything was going well. I absolutely recommend their fried chicken, beef on beef and salmon dishes. They also have killer appetizers that made everyone's mouth water. This place was so good, we returned the next day to try out their brunch menu. They had 11 different kinds of eggs benedict. In terms of price, I would call it reasonable, but not cheap.

The customer service there is AMAZING! I always ask for Chris to be my server. He is the best server ever! He remembers that I drink Diet Pepsi and has it on my table before I even ask for it. He remembers I don't like yellow tail and always substitutes it for my favorite fish. Every waiter should follow his suit, because his exceptional service has made me a repeat customer!
