Doesn't look like much from the outside but is real nice inside. Mushroom and queso fundido app are great. Lamb chops w/lamb empanadas a winner as was short ribs. Decent prices and BYO.

Pretty decent joint. Poker room was great and got right onto the 1/2NL tables on a Sat night. Grinded it out for 5 hrs to win a whopping $105. And I was shocked at the fantastic beer selection. Had a couple of FFF Dreadnaught's for $5(that's a steal). And at 2am, I can get home in 33 minutes.

Was working in the area and swung in for lunch. They have a pretty respectable beer list. Being that it was lunchtime on a workday, was only able to sample 1 beer. It was $3 cans Wednesday and got a nice IPA. Standard bar fare. The chicken and goat cheese salad was good and loaded with chicken. Don't really frequent the WLoop scene, but would go back if in the area.

Attended a BDay party on a Sat night. First off the bread was great and gotta love the BYO factor. We just ordered some apps and pizzas. Calamari was spectacular. And all the pizzas were a hit although I loved the pistacchio bacon one. Get it!

2.5 stars. Went before hitting ZooLights and it was insanely crowded. Waited it out in the bar with the 4yo and some Goose XMAS ale. Then we were seated at this crazy table in the middle of the restaurant that was inches away from 3 other tables. It was like communal eating only worse.I got hot wings which were OK. Wife had burger that was also OK. Child had kids chicken fingers that were a basked of fries and 2 little chix fingers for like $6.
All-in-all, I wouldn't ever come back here voluntarily.

The Publican

Gave this place another shot for brunch. Made a reservation so no wait. Decent Bloody Mary's. Publican bacon was amazing. I could have eaten 2 orders(and then dropped dead). I opted for the Maple-Glazed Pork Shoulder that was OK. The egg on it was over cooked and the polenta that came with it was like prison grits. The wife had the duck confit hash which was very bland. And for $16 an entree throw in some toast or something. I was still very hungry at the end of the meal. All-in-all, not a $57 brunch. 2.5 starts again!

2. 5 Stars. After hearing all the hype about this place, we had to check it out with some friends. We were seated in one of the booths with doors(or the pig coral as we called it). Extensive beer list which was almost overwhelming.
I must say that our server sucked. She came over to take our order and didn't give us the "this is how the menu works as far as what are big/small plates" until I asked. And she never came to check on us and our drinks were frequently empty.
Moving on to the food. We had in order:
1. The selection of oysters which were meh. The mignionette was way overpowering.
2. The trio of hams which was pretty good even though I'm not a huge ham guy.
3. The pickles which no one really touched. Didn't work out for us.
4. Sweetbreads which were really nice but again you could fry up poop and I'd like it.
5. Kobe Sirloin that was a table winner in spite of the awkwardness of having peaches in it.
6. Basque Fish Stew was served in a huge pot and they gave us bowls and a ladle to serve it up. It was decent.
7. Pork Shoulder was another hit. It was a huge hunk of pork that fell apart.
8. And finally the Country Ribs which were my personal fav. They had a great flavor.
I finished off the night with Ryans(?) after pork digestive. It tasted just like Campari of which I'm not a fan.
All in all, I'm glad I tried it but wouldn't go back unless I was forced to. Some of the menu items I just found ridiculous, i.e beef heart bruchsetta? I considered this place a novelty where you go to try strange items I'd normally not eat. And was on the pricey side.
And I found out after I wrote this that our friend dining with us got very ill the next day.

Pizzeria Ora

Pizza was OK tasting. But the crust was dry and flavorless. And their XL is only 16" which barely was enough for 3 adults and a toddler. In a great pizza town like Chicago, this isn't cutting it.

Go Bananas

Not bad, not great. We got a wristband and 40 tokens for $14 with a coupon. There are really only 5 rides in the whole place plus a bouncy house which is only for little kids. But my daughter loves the roller coaster. Some games are 2-4 tickets so it could get pricey. Not as crowded as CCheese with an eclectic crowd.

Great food, BYO, and friendly vibe. It's small so make a reservation and don't wear anything that needs to be dry cleaned.
Started with a great ceviche. I had the La Asado(coffee crusted steak with mole) and it was amazing. Wife also had a steak dish that was great. And the chocolate tamale was a great way to end the meal.
