I've been to the Brazilian Steakhouse in Vegas, and the higher end one in SF, but this one is just as good, and the price is around $20 per person for the all you can eat meat, rather than nearly $50 at the other two.
Lamb? delis!, Prime Rib? incredible! Bacon wrapped Chicken? Give me MORE! Steak, pork, sausage, my head spins thinking still about all the options we had, and my stomach gets excited thinkinga bout how tasty each of them were (note I said no to the chicken livers on the skewer.. I just couldn't go.. 'there')
I did try a little bit of the stuff off the buffet - but the main reason I came here was really for the meat on big sticks - so that is what I was intent on having. The food on the buffet was not bad - certainly better than the buffet in Vegas for sure, and almost as good as the buffet in SF, but like I said - it's all about the MEAT.
If I had to only pick two meats it would be the lamb and the prime rib. I think I could prolly eat an entire skeewer of each by myself! soooo Yummy!
Don't expect it to be snobby tho - if you do, then shell out the extra money, and be less satisfied with your meal (and also make sure you have a reservation at the other spots)
Come on people, it's an irish PUB. If you have ever been to one, it's typically filled with guys talking smack about soccer, maybe some pool and darts and some tasty food. NOT a hip hop DJ.
I do like the fact that beers were 1/2 priced - that made the Blue Moons $2.75 each - which is reasonable.
We found a table away from all the speakers in a corner, and still had to scream to hear one another. Not pleasant, and I departed after the first beer.
Great place to go on a Tuesdsay night if you want cheap beer, and to pick up someone who also likes cheap beer. Not so great if you actually want to get to know them tho.

I frequent this place, but in it's off hours. I don't like spending $6 for a beer on tap but love that they have black thorn cider (an english favorite of mine) on the menu.
The fried green beans are awesome, and the hot wings are actually (finally?) spicy enough for me. The Irish Nachos are disgusting and their clam chowder tastes like water and flour with some potatoe chunks. I was less than impressed with the bow tie pasta, but found the Rib-Eye steak one night to be delicious.
If you are looking for true irish food - head to the Black Rose, if you are looking for a pub in the heart of down town SR, to kick it with your friends where you can "see and be seen" it's a fun bar.
Occasionally they have a DJ upstairs which makes the music in the place much better (not a huge fan of the bagpipes they have on some sundays) but it's not really big enough to dance in.
Glad we did!!
** Let me just say when we first started looking at the menu and seeing something called the Rohnert Park Roll, which essentially screams out - We have people who come in here and know nothing about sushi and or don't like fish - was nearly a red flag for me. There were several rolls on the menu that were directed at the beyond novice of sushi eaters.
needless to say, we didn't try any of those, instead hunted down some other interesting finds on the menu.
#16 Taffaney Roll, Spicy Maguro wrapped in seaweed and rice topped with fresh salmon, sliced lemon and just a hint of hot sauce.
OMG - this was just the perfect marraige of flavors. It didn't need a drop of soy, or wasabi - it was like the perfect bite. Everything was so fresh, and just came together.
Say it with me people D - lish - ous!
We also had the #15 (?) Combo plate, with nigiri and a spicy tuna roll, again, everything was really really fresh. I am not a huge fan of hamachi which one of the selections was, yet I tried it, and it was fresh.
I was very happy to see that they offered Uni, which is by far my favorite thing to order in any Japanese Restaurant. When available it's really what I use to judge the quality and freshness because many people do not order it, there fore it often sits around.. NOT the case here! It was INCREDIBLE!
Perfect texture, and consistancy and perfect freshness, Slightly nutty, with a hint of salt water. Incredible. I haven't had Uni this good in a long time -- This alone is earning them an extra star.
the miso - was um. miso (meh)
the salad that came with the combo had way too much mayo dressing (but really -- unless you are eatting poki salad, who really comes to a japanese restaurant to eat salad? Iceberg covered in pink mayo isn't exactly why we come here.)
The udon was a bit of a disappointment, the noodles were over cooked and the broth lacked any real flavor. Not something I would re order.
Service was friendly and prompt, good selection of Sake and reasonably priced. We ordered quite a bit of food & Sake for $50.
Definately come here for the Uni and the Taffany Roll, you won't be disappointed.

I like that all the coffee cups are different, and love the odd soda options that you have when dining here.
Service is friendly, and menu options are varied.
Not a favorite place to go have breakfast, but Its not one I would boy cot either.
and of course cocktails and some pool.
Kids eat for $2 on wednesdays. They still have the Thurs night pizza and the Friday night pasta (mmmmm)
Drinks $2 8-11pm. can't beat that.
Way fun place to go hang out and have some really good homecooked grub!

I friggin love their meatballs.
that's right - LOVE. love love love love love.
Great spot for a big party or charity venue. They had a crab feed (for charity) there last weekend, and it's a perfect location. I have also been to a charity comedy night party - and great accoustics, and room set up.
Girard throws amazing St. Patty's day parties, and other fun event nights besides just having the deli. Full bar.
oh yeah - did you read that? FULL bar.
Come here & support someone who supports the community he lives in, oh and why you are at it... EAT THE MEATBALLS.
yay for meatballs.
I had the kitchen sink omlette which is just about every type of spicy meat topped with chili and stuffed with cheese. Yum.. That is my kinda omlette.
The BF had the S.O.S. which he wasn't as in love with as I was with my omlette - way too saucy for what the dish typically is, and the meat gravy wasn't as thick as I remember it being in the past.
Potatoes were OK, not my favorite.
Good coffee. Friendly service, a fun locals breakfast joint.

Lemon Verbena Tea, delish as always.
The Fried Green Tomatoes were really really good too - although, I didn't like the thousand island dipping sauce my DCs who are ok with Mayo didn't seem to mind it.
The pickles were fab!
Both the Pulled Pork and the BBQ'd beef sandwhichs - the buns were burnt, and although the meat was good, the buns were a disappointment. - I won't hold it against them this time... everyone has bad days.
Fries and Onion rings delish.
Cole slaw was a little over dressed for my taste (again a mayo thing) but the BF liked it.
Beans with Ham Hocks - ohh so good.
This is a must stop. reasonable too & a great place to get coffee and a killer breakfast in the AM!

Heaven on the side of the highway.
The BF and I came in here last Saturday when we were crusin thru wine country and our consensus is YUM, YUM, and YUM.
1) Country Meat Platter $10. What a feast, when we ordered the platter, we didn't expect it to be nearly as robust and as filling as it was, there was a TON of meat on this plate. The pickled bing cherries made my heart sing (and you can buy them there too for only $11 a jar!) All the meats were amazing, and top quality, the grapefruit complimented the salty/sweet aspect and the jack cheese delish.
I wasn't super fond of the pickled raisins, but I don't really like raisns, everything else was delish .
2) Nashville Hot Chicken $10.25 - the chicken was moist on the inside, and crispy on the outside, and oh so tasty. The Yellow Eye'd beans with ham hocks - delish, and the braised turnip greas hit a special softspot I have for southern food. Sooo good - we fought over of the chicken skin!
3) Lemon Verbena Ice Tea was incredible, refreshing and slightly tart - made for a great palate cleanser with the fatty meats and fried chicken.
4) The Strawberry Milkshake was a huge generous portion for the $4. I (like raisins) don't really like milkshakes, but the BF loved it, and since it was really warm out, it went so well with the setting and all the delish food.
everything was incredible. and here is the kicker - BREAKFAST - bisquits and gravey, OMG I cannot wait to have a morning where I can go meet my BF and try this out.
... and drumrolll....... hand dripped coffee - and it's TAYLOR MADE.
Staff was wonderful, fun and friendly and Ruby and Angus (dogs) were quite the characters of awesome dogginess that makes the place feel like home.
ohhhhhh and AND AND AND... you can buy homemade jams $5 gets you the rhubarb with sage and ginger - I brought a jar of this home and put it on some pork shoulder - WOWIE Oh WOW oh WOWIE - it just exploded with flavor.
Check this place out, and when this place becomes so busy you can't get a table, don't say I didn't warn you. Come early, Come often.
Coming from CA, I donned my winter gear and got out here with the locals and some family and got digging for treasure in the treasure hunt and spent many a frozen night outside at parades and parties.
Vulcan victory dance is one of the highlights not to be missed!
what an amazing experience. Do it!
Any place that can serve picnic pickles with a straight face and cheese curds is A OK in my book.
Drinks were interesting.

ps - did someone say cheese curds?
Date

Seaweed salad - yum...
all the buffet dishes are actually quite solid, and not just an after thought - Made with what is seasonal, the butternut squash and pumpkin were both incredibly tasty.
and then the sticks came out! When the guy came around with the lamb (my favorite) I was thrilled, my BF actually made the comment that I am prolly the happiest eater he has ever seen, especially when there is huge chuncks of lamb for me to chew on.
Tri tip was a little on the done side (for my taste) the Top sirloin, and eye of round were fantastic. Bacon Bacon - did I say bacon?? wrapped chicken! yes please! and incredible wings with lots of immensely tasty seasoning.
the pineapple with the cinnamon makes a great palate cleanser and the deep fried banana for dessert....
ciprihana with lime to wash it all down.
The service is family, and you get a little bit of that pretense from them -- which it is what it is -- I think it sorta adds to the flare of the place, maybe one day they will have a skewer nazi "no meat for you!"
Now THAT would be cool.
