Hole in The Wall offers American food with a twist from the Dutch, French and a few more. I was surprised to find not only find terrific food, but it was something different than the regular servings in the community. Sebastopol longs for something that is dependable, delicious and inviting.
Service and Atmosphere: Service was plentiful and personable. The owner and chef Adam stopped by multiple times to recommend items and chat about them. His presence and engagement was a large part of the service and ambiance. The additional wait staff were all nice and attentive. The space is sparse of decorations. The walls are clean (white) with a few pieces of fun art. Based on seating and styles, it's definitely casual dinning. Not 5 stars yet based on ambiance/seating. It was good, but not as fitting to the food as I thought it should be.
The Food: The food was all from scratch and a bit unusual. My breakfast companions both had the dutch pancake - a dish baked in a cast iron pan and is reminiscent of a souffle. I had the fun-guy omelet and an out-of-this-world biscuit with sausage gravy. If I could of, I would of ordered a dozen of the biscuits to go. Amazing.
Overall, a good place with wonderful food. I hope business continues to grow and Hole in The Wall calls Sebastopol home for a long while.
Good stuff Adam!
