Of course if you like to keep in shape any place will do but if you want to be coached, treated like a friend and motivated this is the place to go.
ThumbsUP - a very reliable fitness resource. Good equipment, clean locker room, constant updates to the machines.
ThumbsDOWN - if you have friends in SF then you will run into a few now and then. Tends to be distracting

Bay Appliance Repair
Category: Appliances & Repair
I have been trying to get my oven fixed for my 7 year old KitchenAid convection/microwave oven repaired for 6 weeks now.
I was concerned after an initial oven latch repair was then followed 2 weeks later with a major electronic failure. The technicians denied the failures we related so we decided to have them back to make the second repair. This required a replacement of the oven motherboard which took over 3 weeks to facilitated. Within days the replacement board failed a second time. Upon deeper questioning it became clear that not only did the techs not test for the cause of the failure and in fact are abandoning the repairs and inisist thay they be allowed to and come retrieve the failed parts.
These people DO NOT KNOW what they are doing and are extraordinarily unprofessional. In fact they are threatening to take me to court because I refused to pay them for a failed repair (in which they provided a 3 month warranty).
UPDATE: I continue to recieve nasty emails and phone calls from Glen and will pass them on to anyone who is interested.
ThumbsUP - nothing unless you like being ripped off
ThumbsDOWN - They destroyed my $2700 appliance
will I eat here again. Ive been a half dozen times over the past 2 years, primarily cause its so close to my office.
The food is OK - but - if you're lucky you will get a little montezuma's revenge later on. Not only did i get food poisoning from this place (worst thing ever) but so did my friend on another occassion 2 months earlier.
There are better places to get mexican grub close by (Monte Cristo Taqueria on University) without the nasty side effects.
ThumbsUP: HA! Hopefully my review will keep you away
ThumbsDOWN: Food borne illness (unless youre into that sort of thing)

what is not to love about J's Pots of Soul.
My friend Joe took me here for breakfast on a cold December morning. There was no heat inside but it didn't seem to be a problem - everyone was happy and having a nice comfy San Francisco breakfast experience. The waiter was really nice and seemed like he interested in making sure we were happy (although before my first coffee I really didn't give a crap).
I had the Cheesy Omelet with grits, toast and jam. A bottomless cup of coffee was always ready to keep me warm and help jump start my day. Great old photos of Josephine Baker and Muhammad Ali on the walls and crappy old furniture just made the atmosphere eclectic and relaxed. But that was beside the point because the food was good and damn I was hungry!
ThumbsUP: Soul Food! Grits are my favorite..
ThumbsDown: I didn't see any Chicken and Waffles on the menu

Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse

OK WHY you say? Lets proceed..
1. Ordered 4 appliances. 3 came severely damaged and had to be returned and replaced (seperate deliveries even). The fourth is a downdraft ventilation system but DUH they forgot to tell me i needed an additional blower to power it. (an additional $450.00)
2. I also bought CeasarStone counters - they messed up the installation and when I tried to speak to the subcontractor manager he was a dick. Of course i have asked Lowes to withhold payment till they can fix their mistake.
3. Generally all of Lowes subcontractors are sullen and incompetent
4. Most of the store Assistant Managers are rude and have no ability to execute (except Kris - dude you were awesome)
5. I had to call to corporate to get the store to give me any kind of decent service or response.
I will never go to Lowes again - sorry to Craig the awesome sales person, most of your support staff is useless. You however were great (hence the original 4 stars)

OMG. A big box store with friendly helpful people? Where am I again?
I am shopping for some items for a kitchen remodel, appliances, counter tops, some lighting. They have a really nice selection - def geared towards home improvement, not the crappy apartment type quality you get at home depot. The staff was soooo nice, and I am a hard sell. It was clean and i didn't feel like cattle while moving around the store. Death to Home Depot.
ThumbsUP: shiny happy people everywhere
ThumbsDOWN: Its a big box, you become absorbed by their channel of goods. Its easy to not look elsewhere (which you should).
There is just one company on my list of service providers that is better - Tmobile.
ThumbsUP: You guys meet your commitments, give me great service and even send me coupons for freebies for staying with them for a year.
ThumbsDOWN: not cheap but nothing like the ripoff that is Comcast
Its OK
ThumbsUP: Dig the tonka truck theme and the super nice (hot) staff
ThumbsDOWN: its so isolated.

ThumbsDOWN: TOO TACKY. I wanted to like you but jeans made in china for 2 dollars should never cost 200.

(HI JEFF)
Like good sex, good shopping is one of those things that makes life great. Monument lives up to its name, a true monument to material items from the days gone by. As a lampaholic i was drawn in when my eye spied a beautiful 50s lamp from Lightolier. They also have great furniture and collectables for Mid Century lovers - and - considering the outstanding quality and condition the prices are very reasonable. Michael is very nice and fun to chat with. Thanks for my new gold leaf bar glasses!
ThumbsUP: High quality antiques and a no pressure, freindly atmosphere to boot
ThumbsDOWN: 5 stars baby, its all good.

Its not the best Chinese food ever but it is consistently good and the delivery service is fast and friendly. I am a regular now and wish they would get some sort of record system to hold my address and credit card number.... but that might be a little high tech for them..
ThumbsUP - Fast and friendly delivery!
ThumbsDOWN - Crispy Beef is good when its good - shoe leather when its not
