A simple breakfast place. This is THE SPOT to be on a Sunday morning. Eggs, hash browns, sausage, and biscuits. Cheap, fast and delicious. There's nothing positive or negative about this place, it's very mediocre, everything from the the decor to the food. Middle of the line, but theres nothing wrong with that. This is what you want, when you just want to eat.
I am a fan of this place. With a dining room, and a sports bar area you get best of both worlds. I had the house special burger that was delicious. I had little onion straws, the burger was rather juicy and the corn dusted bun was immaculate. Fries weren't too bad. Another in the party had the fritters, that were pretty well done, but still pretty good.
Nighttime this place turns into the hot spot in town serving a full bar with a pretty talented bartender. Drink prices are pretty fair for what you'd expect. A class act compared to the other bars in town.

Kids movies, which financially make sense. The 50+ year old theater still only charges 1$/2$ per show. There's not much you can say about an old theater, if it's a rainy day and you have nothing else to do, i'd take a shot but only as a last resort.
Bit of an unfair previous review. Typical Mexican food, is something of... almost a joke. You're not in New York, or Dallas, you're in Jerseyville Illinois. This is the best Mexican food you will find within, 90 mile radius Yeah I'll go that far. Homecoming-esque, large portions, and of course, the staple of Americanized Mexican, margaritas. This town previously didn't have anything besides a taco bell, so it's an improvement in leaps and bounds. When you're tired of dive bar food, this is a great deviation.
11 Two star reviews. Roughly 10% of my reviews to this point. The food, is hit or miss, and they do so in a big time way. The horseshoe, pony and anything else that requires a bit of freshness is key. The service is terrible. I'm sorry, I understand. It's a large area, with minimal staff but if you take an incorrect order, or something is wrong, please don't just stare at us, waiting for further instruction. Take some initiative, and fix the problem. See that's part of your job, service. Pork chops/tenderloin/fritters are dry. Chicken is typical, but the Horseshoes are absolutely delicious.
World famous onion rings. I've done a great deal of evangelical work for the White Spot. Their pies are good, but if you're in Jersey County for whatever reason.... get the onion rings here. And maybe a piece of pie. Strawberry if they have it. The local regulars, who are here almost every single day, will help you if you need anything else.

A....refreshing...small town.... family run business.
Nothing else that can really be said. The people who work here take pride in their creations, and are just as enthusiastic as the customers are. Glaciers, Banana Splits, shakes everything. Prices have remained almost unchanged in the last five years that I can remember.

When I come to visit family, we usually end up spending quality time in casnio's talking, catching up or just having meaningless conversation. I will down rate Lumiere because of the smoke environment, and the games just don't seem as fun as the ones at Alton Belle. If you're immune to smokey environments, and don't mind crowds sometimes, then you'll enjoy this. The architecture is great.

I love this place. I come in, with a 20$. Me and grandma get to spend quality time hopping around the penny slots. We have a ton of fun and twenty bucks usually lasts all day. I am the one in the family that normally ends up walking out with more money than I walked in with, last time it was eight dollars. A great, smoke-free cheap way to spend an afternoon or evening, catching up with family or friends. And there's free soda!

Golden Corral Family Steakhouse

I come here at least once a year when I visit family in the area. It's their favorite place, and I don't mind it. My grandfather enjoys the all you can eat steak, and I enjoy the variety of chicken. Fried, rotisserie, bourbon and a handful of other ways. I will say in a party of six, two of the people got sick, presumably from bourbon chicken, but no one is really sure. I have an iron stomach so... it's a moot point to talk about that. If you're hungry, and can get the senior discount, I would say that it's worth a stop in.
