OK, here's why they get two stars. which is pretty hard to get from me....
i took one away because it is in montclair, because i always run into people i don't want to see, and its filled with want to be yuppie douche-bags, who cant drive or park their over sized SUV.   mainly they get just two stars because they organize their yarn by color...  Now I'm a very tactile yarn shopper.
if i go in there, i may find a type of yarn i like, but now i have to go try to decide what color i want, and then try to find the same yarn which probably isn't there.

ok, so here i go..
I love shin shin. they rock, the food is great, and ive eaten there for years.
Now, why did i take 2 stars away....
The other night i ordered mushu pork, among other things. and when i was home i opened what should have been my mushu pancakes... but no.... they were flour tortillas.. i shit you not.. Flour Tortillas. WTF.
Do they really  think that I wouldn't know the difference.
oh well.. it wont stop me from going back.

this place is great... much better than the temescal cafe or whatever it was before...
I usually get food to go so i cant tell you about service but the hangar steak sandwich is awesome... having sandwiches here completes my sandwich triangle for this block of telegraph...

This place is pretty sweet.. even though its in Alameda.. Drinks are normal Tiki priced, and range from simple to crazy..  Its nice the menu tells you how strong the drink is too.  Not too loud, ended up a little crowded, but hey its a bar on a Saturday night.. I was just gonna give 4 stars.... but the fact that the female bartenders are hot and tattooed, gives it the 5th star.

so i went here to have an old WW2 Ike jacket tailored...
I had been searching for one for quite sometime but I guess they built people a bit smaller back in the day.. I ended up with 2 i purchased from ebay for pretty cheap, both did not fit. I took the two jackets to margenes and had them make one larger by using pieces from the other..
they did an awesome job, but.... I was quoted at like 150 bucks but when it came down to it they charged me 270... fuck.. what was i going to do, I paid it, and love the jacket, but still. . I think i'd go back, but still unsure.

So....where to begin...
i have ended up here three times in the last 10 years.. Once for a 18th birthday, and twice for bachelor parties...
Um, the girls.... the girls are beautiful, with a few exceptions..
Id say, sit in the second row.. you get the same show without tossing money on the stage, and just have to fend off the girls trying to sell you a lap dance...
though on my last trip, i gave in to a smokin hot blondie, AMY, i believe was her name.. she had the whole Gwen steffani thing goin, and yes, they were built for speed as I'm a motor boating son of a bitch...
Things to remember:
1. when asked if you like it rough b/c you were a marine.... say no or nothing..
2. when said smokin hot girl bites you... say nothing... do not tell her that she is just flirting..
Now, don't get me wrong, i had an awesome time, but this last trip was  the end of April... as i write this it is July 26th, and let me tell you....
I STILL HAVE TEETH MARKS.... she bit the f&ck outta me..
but its OK, I still got love for ya AMY, and would for sure get another dance from her..
What can i say, I'm a guy.

this place is awesome... took my brother here for his bachelor party for before dinner drinks... Top shelf all the way... you wont find any potters here.  funky decor, and just an overall cool experience..  
I took one star away for price, but good booze costs good money... so its not a big deal...
Though I wish they had a giant gorilla of a man behind the door like in a Dick Tracy movie, instead of a little petite girl...

Can you say complete ice cream deliciousness. I can... the ice cream is amazing, flavors that you would never think of but are awesome and work... I had burnt orange caramel ginger, and malted milk vanilla with choco chips.. also the cones are hand made, just like they should be, with a chunk of chocolate at the bottom.....
if i could melt the ice cream and main-line it into my veins I would.
Pricey but worth it. If you cant afford it.. use your economic stimulus check on it.... then I can thank Bush for two things.... PTSD and kick ass ice cream..

So, here i go.  I love the Kona Club... I drink there more often than I should, and have had a few super drunk nights where I start and the next thing I know is the lights are turned on and I am being kicked out.  I give it 4 stars just because it can get pretty loud, and sometimes the other patrons make me want to hurt them because they are frickin TOOLS! Were talking drunk at 9pm middle age crisis guy who first makes a comment on my bald head.... which is beautiful....and then about my brother... If the bartender hadn't 86'd him I would have taken him out and stomped his dumb ass like I used to as a jarhead..
aside from that, the drinks are great, Eric makes a mean manhattan and there is always something interesting playing on the tv, from movies to surfing documentaries etc.  peace out and see you there.....

its incredible....and the fries are amazing...
make a reservation if you can, if not, go in a small group and sit at the bar
