Serafina

My wife and I have never been wrong going to Serafina. This is one of those once in a month (for us) places, where you want to really splurge on your food. Amazing service, a fantastic ambience and great food makes this place a must visit for people in Seattle looking for a good evening of very tasty Italian food.

The two reasons why I don't provide 5-star rating are
1. Low(er) options for vegetarians
2. It's expensive.

However, it's worth every penny as you bite into the yummy bread with the spiced olive oil, the amazing bread tampenade platter and mouth watering tricollo di ciocollato.

I would recommend their egg plant parmesan based spaghetti and it goes amazingly well with the cocktails they recommend. They also carry an extensive list of quality wine, however, I'm not much of a wine consumer / connoisseur.

A definite first date place and the live music has always been hearty.

Can't wait for my next visit next month and we are looking to have brunch there.

Guanaco's Tacos Pupuseria

I had no idea of what Salvadorean food was before going to Guanaco's. One bite into the vegetarian pupusa with loroca herbed cheese, jalapenos, and beans - I am a convert.

There is a separate vegetarian menu for the die hards and my wife certainly enjoyed her chicken based pupusa as well.

I heartily recommend this place. They are small, but super friendly and definitely chat with the people - they will even recommend things that you can eat with your pupusa.

The sorta salad combination with it is a bit acerbic, but very tasty if you like kimchi.

Will be definitely hitting this place again asap.

As a vegetarian, there are not many places that I can so heartily and readily recommend. My wife and I went there for brunch on a cold, rainy Seattle Sunday. And it was absolutely worth it.

The special for the day was the omellete with goat cheese and hollandaise. There were potatoes for sides and some well toasted bread. Best decision ever.

Also, if you're a chai person, don't forget to try out their masala chai. One of the best teas I've tasted in Seattle.

Definitely going there again.

Oh! India - Fine Indian Cuisine

Caveat emptor: reviewed vegetarian dishes only

I would have given them a 2, except that I went there twice and on both occasions, most of the food items in the buffet were at best mediocre. This is clearly a south indian place and they do have decent idlis. Their sambhar can pass, only because you need something to eat the idlis with.

Their north indian food is terrible. For e.g. the palak paneer during my first visit was bland, and strangely had coconut in it. Now, I am not opposed to trying something new. But, new in palak paneer is really pushing the envelope.

I didn't want to give up on the place, given the verbal praise doled by my friends. So, the second time around, I went with my wife. Never again.

I am shocked at the consistently high praise. Maybe I've just been there at the wrong times.

The food here is really delish. The vegetarian and fake meat options drew me in, but it was the super hot, spicy chilling rice noodle that keeps me going back.

Definitely a Seattle favorite.

One of the best German pubs I've been to period. Granted I am not a beer connoisseur, but I had a great time with my friends here. The servers were fantastic and do suggest some great beer.

The pommes frites with the curry sauce is great even for the vegetarians. :)

Azteca Mexican Restaurants

It might be that I am just used to a much better experience and taste for Mexican food being spoilt by On The Border, but Azteca not only didn't taste good, their service was really poor.

We had a surly server and a grumpy waitress that really made the experience very sour. The only upbeat people were the maitre'de and the person cleaning up the tables.

Being a vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for a good place and Abdeen has some of the freshest, best falafels near my school. They are divine. Combine that with super friendly service and affordable, graduate school friendly rates, you know that you've got yourself a deal.

The falafel with potatoes sandwich is my fav!!

This was my first experience with Sushi. Being a vegetarian, I never managed to get some Sushi experience. I can only say about the vegetarian sushi experience, however, my friends were making all sorts of orgasmic experience downing their "Las vegas roll" at Kaneya.

The waitress might give you some attitude, however, once you go beyond that the experience is delightful. It's phenomenal bang for the buck!!

Being a vegetarian, any Asian restaurant other than the Indian restaurants are always an adventure for me. And I loved this thrill ride.

My room mate is Thai and he helped me order some of the BEST Thai food, I have ever had. He vouches for this place.

Try the Thai tea and coffee. They are delicious.
The fried noodles were divine...

And if you like uber spicy food, like I do, try everything "Thai hot". If you don't sweat by the end of the meal, please comment back!!
