I spent a few hours here on a Friday night for one of there late night  events.  After attending many of the late night events at the Natural History Museum, it was really nice to see living animals!   I have to admit, I got in for free, but I still really enjoyed the night.  The DJ could have been better (get some DUBLAB guys in there!) but it was good enough.  I really enjoyed the jellyfish and touching the starfish.  Really all of the underground and underwater stuff was super entertaining and fun.  Or maybe I was just drunk.

I didn't understand the barcode G phone promotion thing.  We almost got all of the scavenger hunt answers (for a free drink) but gave up on the last question.  If you are going to promote something at an event like this, do a better job!

The outerspace pictures were really wonderful, but that may be a temporary exhibit.  The living roof could have been more interesting, but the fact that it exists makes me happy.  Rainforest=cool.

After a long day at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival I was promised a huge slice of awesome greasy pizza and Escape from New York certainly delivered.  Super quick service and even though the place was packed, my friends and I still managed to find a table and sit inside.  Very cheap and very delicious.

Even though my friend gets take out here quite often, his first time actually eating inside was with me.  I give Best of Thai Noodle kudos for having the best wall color EVER.

The food is okay.  It is probably the one of the better late night, take out, eat in Thai food places.  I enjoyed eating my Pad Thai and the Panang curry was pretty delicious.  The service was pretty great and I like their beer selection.

Anyone know why there is a picture of a rooster with the letters 'BOT' underneath everywhere?  My friend things it stands for Best of Thai (Noodle), but where is the N??? And why a rooster? Show owner comment »

I walked in here with a piece of rolley luggage, which normally annoys people, but NO, the barist was hella kind and asked me about my destination.  I was flattered that given her busy job she took time out to chat.  The bathroom was nice and clean.  And the coffee was pretty good.  Not the best latte I have ever had, but I have high standards, so it is okay.  Nice chairs.  Nice atmosphere.

Mad Dog in the Fog

Yes the bartender with the funny accent, he is from Northern Ireland.

Okay so I went to Mad Dog to watch the USC vs. Cal game (go trojans) after the Lovevolution explosion downtown.  It was nice to walk into a bar and not be overrun by drunk half-naked people (or maybe I had just gotten too much of that on this particular day).  There was an empty high top just for my friends and I and we enjoyed several rounds of beer.  Great choices available here.  The heffe on tap was super.  We also ate many bags of Kettle brand potato chips.  It would be nice if there was something else to eat, BUT I saw pizza boxes and later some other friends brought in Mexican food so evidently it is BYOF, which rocks.

The outside patio is really sweet and cozy, although not very warm, but that is the fault of the wind.
