Normally I'm not much of a breakfast person.. Coming from my particular household, breakfast was usually leftovers from dinner the night before, so I've never placed much emphasis on breakfast foods as a genre themselves.. But this place opened my eyes to a world I was ignoring..
WOW.. If I only had but one word to describe the dishes here, that would be it.. Hands down, I had one of (if not THE) best breakfast I've EVER had here.. My girlfriend and I randomly found this place on my trusty Yelp app and we're so thankful we did..
She had the Salmon Eggs Benedict while I partook in a simple Chicken Breakfast Burrito.. I wouldn't want to waste the surprise of what's inside these dishes by going over the ingredients because I would want each and every one of you to make the trek out to La Mesa and be blown away like I was.. The place itself was nice and simple with excellent service too.. Talk about the whole package..
Just be sure to look for it because it's seemingly hidden away in the corner of some small plaza.. Trust me, it's worth the search..

Also, the service that my table got was really excellent.. I know people lament over the service at hip, trendy places like RA but this experience was definitely top notch..
The signature massage package is well worth the price and if you can take the vigorous style that most asian places have in regards to technique, this place is for you.. It's quiet, clean and friendly.. Just be sure to call and make an appointment because you don't want to get stuck in the lobby waiting for a spot to open up..
And some of the masseues don't speak English all that well, so be mindful of the potential communication barriers.. Just go with it and you'll be taken care of :)
Seriously though, make sure you confirm an appointment.. I almost had a terrible experience here when I first visited.. There was a whole mix-up and I had to wait and well I don't want to talk about it.. Just confirm
So my girlfriend and I went here with the expectation of ordering from a different menu.. You see, this place was apparently under different management before and I guess they fairly recently changed..
My girlfriend had a katsu-egg donburi rice bowl and I had the katsu curry meal.. It's safe to say that we were both pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and price as well!
We both walked away satisfied and wanting for a return visit.. I'm hoping the other items on the menu are just as delicious!
If anything, I with the menu displayed more variety in Japanese food.. It's a little restrictive for my taste but like I said, the food was good so you won't hear any complaints out of me :)
Just clean up and redo the place k? It's plain stupid that I choose to drive all the way to the Walnut location (Grand and Valley) for a clean and up-to-date gym when this location is half the distance from my house.. Step your game up!

Be sure to buy your tickets online and become a free member.. You get a dollar off each ticket you buy and of course can reserve your seat hours before you even get to the theatre.. Again, definitely worth the price..
Btw you're gonna have to pay for parking in the structure here (it's LA, duh).. So Arclight offers a 4 hours for $3 validation deal.. Just be sure to bring your parking stub into the theatre and scan it in the little blue box before exiting.. That way you can walk around afterwards and have dinner.. At Tender Greens ;)
