Only came here for an oil change on my 2009 Toyota RAV4. The cost was ridiculous! $50 for the oil, $25 for the labor, $5 for the filter, and $3 for environmental charge. A grand total $85. Even if I don't go to my mechanic in the bay, other shops around there only charged me $50 at most.

As far as the service goes it was fine but an oil change should not cost this much. They got the job done, but I am definitely not coming back here. For that price, I can drive back to the bay, go to my usual auto-shop, get the oil change, have my tires rotated, spend time with my family, buy myself some lunch, drive back and fill up my tank, all for under $80.

Came here on a Tuesday night with my SO and they were severely understaffed with only one poor server working the front end of the restaurant. He was handling the phone, seating the customers, taking their orders, clearing the tables etcetc. Took us a fair amount of time to be seated, and an additional wait just to have our orders taken down. All in all took around an hour to get our food. Pretty sure there was just maybe 1-2 cooks.

That being said, there was nothing special about the food. We ordered the seafood house special (chicken broth) and shrimp clay pot.

The broth was only average. The fish balls and calamari were the simple frozen ones that anybody can just buy at a store and cook up. With just about 2 pieces of each meat and a very basic broth, it is difficult to believe they charged $15 dollars for it.

The clay pot was prepared incorrectly. It came in two separate platters. The clay pot itself had the shrimp and sauce, but the rice was served on another plate. First off, they should be served in the same clay pot so that the rice is cooked and mixed in together with some of the rice even crisping from its contact with the clay pot. Second, they need to be careful placing the clay pot on a normal ceramic/porcelain platter. That sort of heat will eventually cause the platter to shatter. The flavor again was just average. Nothing an average college student couldn't have prepared themselves. Majority of the flavoring was just from the brown sugar.

Pho Tasty is honestly disappointing. It does not live up to the reviews that it has been receiving. They are overcharging for what is only average at best. You are much better off going to Pho King. They are not the best but they are decent. Their quality is consistent with what they are charging and by far much better than what I experienced at Pho Tasty.

I also want to give a shout out to the server working the front. He was professional, polite and tried his best to deal with the situation. The time it took to be seated and served was understandable, so that is not part of the review. These 2 stars are solely for the quality of the food. I plan on giving it another try in the future in hopes that things improve.

      Seated via Yelp Reservations

      Ambience:

Nice fenced off open air outdoor dining area. Decent spacing in between tables. Jazz music played in the background but the volume was a bit too loud.

      Food:

This is where Running Goose has made me the most disappointed. We ordered the following:

Appetizer - Lamb Chops , Fries
      Entrees - Gringo Burger, Duck

The lamb chops were a good theme for the rest of the meal. It looked great on its wooden serving platter. It looked juicy and had these perfect grill marks on either side. The sauces on the side were very delicious. However, the lamb chops themselves ended up over charred. Whatever delicious flavors that may have been there were completely overshadowed by the burnt taste, and each following bite was harder and harder to enjoy as the burnt taste was just overwhelming.

The gringo burger was of a similar experience. On the exterior the dish was something to look forward to. Both the bun and the patty had these wonderful grill marks, and the patty itself looked juicy. Again the overwhelming burnt taste was too much. The patty seemed to lack any sort of herbs and spices. The result was just a very oily and burnt burger.

The duck confit was served with a side of pureed carrots, deep friend sweet potato skins and shallots, and sweet potatoes. These were delicious. However, the duck was not. The exterior was completely blackened.

The Running Goose has a lot of potential, but as of now meat is not their strong suit. The sides were great but the main focus of each of these entrees were essentially missing from the meal.

Overall all the veggies were well done. Flavor was on point and the textures were wonderful. Their meat needs work. The presentation is all there but perhaps there is too much of a focus on how the meal looks. Those grill marks did look good but in the end they ended up also taking away from the flavor of the meal.

I honestly believe this place has potential and would be willing to give it another shot (maybe not so soon but eventually). There are plenty of other items on the menu I have not tried and other yelpers seem to have enjoyed them.

Drinks are great. My girlfriend always orders a dirty chai. I never had any particular favorites though.

As a study area, there is plenty of space. Large wooden tables with an abundance of outlets. It is mot crowded at all. My only issue is the music is often too loud here. It feels like I am at at outlet store, not a coffee shop.

For any Pokemom Go players, there is a stop here.

Taste: Decent/On par with other Taco Bells.

I ordered a cheese quesadilla, cinnamon twist, beefy nacho griller, and crunchy taco.

Everything was more or less okay but the griller was disappointing. It had very little in it. It was barely wider than a sauce packet. You can tell by how much overlap there is for the tortilla when wrapped up.

Twists are delicious though. I'll still go and maybe order another griller to see if this was just a one time thing but don't be surprised if the griller isn't "loaded."
