Not only do they do a great job . . . they couldn't be nicer. They know all of their customers, you're not an anonymous phone number here. I've given them specialty items like skirts with beading, embroidered sweaters, and down blankets. Everything comes back in perfect condition.

Maybe in other cities, Tapenade wouldn't earn 5 Stars, but in San Diego, it's as good as we get!
My husband and I come here as a special occassion restaurant or with out of town guests. He was born in France and is a connoisseur of French food and dining.
The setting is bistro-like, no deep booths at this restaurant. It's cultured and quiet - you can hear your dinner companions conversation. The art changes regularly to add visual interest.
If you're expecting a French styled "Olive Garden" then don't eat here. The portions are all reasonably sized so an average person can enjoy an appetizer, dinner AND dessert without feeling stuffed at the end.
The food is fantastic. We've eaten everything from the tasting menus paired with wines, to the prix fixe cassoulet meals on the less expensive side. Their season menus are always inventive and delicious.
Last week we had selections from their fall menu including the gnocchi with butternut squash, sage and bacon, and the rabbit in mustard sauce - both were fantastic. As a special, they also had partridge stuffed with foie gras - order this if they offer it again!!! Their traditional menu has never disappointed either.
The service is discreet and top notch. The waiter was always there are the right moment, but was never intrusive. He was charming and able to answer all of our questions without "checking with the kitchen."
And make sure to save room for their coffee- yum yum!

This place has it all! The treatments are fantastic, the service is great, the ambiance is restful and relaxing. It's everything you hope to get from a spa day with no disappointments.
The ready rooms at the spa are small, but perfectly designed. The private outdoor hottub and eucalyptus scented steam room are the best! I wish I could hang out there all the time!!! My only criticism was that one of the employees checking to see if there were enough towels wore high heeled shoes and her clippity-clop broke the meditative silence of the area.
LAYLA gave me a fantastic 80 minute "Tension Tamer" massage. It definitely left me less tense and more relaxed! I would go see her again - budget permitting. You definitely pay for perfection here!
Purchasing a spa treatment gives you access to the hotel gym and pool. Sunning and swimming at the pool, while ordering drinks and snacks, prolongs the blissful experience and helps make the cost seem more reasonable. You can purchase one treatment and spend the entire day enjoying the beautiful hotel grounds, restaurants and amenitites.
I can't wait to go back!
