I've been seeing Dr. Yin throughout my whole pregnancy. She has provided some much needed support and care for my changing body over the last few months. I am in my 37th week and I can say that I feel fantastic and really great for a pregnant lady.

I started off seeing her every 3 weeks or so, when I first found out I was pregnant. Then moved to every two weeks after the 5th or 6th month. Now in my 8th and 9th, I am seeing her office twice a week.

My baby has turned and I think its due to the chiropractic care I've been recieving over the last few months. My pelvic area has opened up and from what I've learned from each visit that it is in good alignment for delivery.

I would recommend Dr. Yin for your prenatal care. I see this as preventative maintenance, kind of like getting a tune up and oil change before a big race. Postpartum, I plan to continue my treatment to help me recover and heal properly.

I was introduced to Dr. Yin by a friend. I am one of those uber skeptical people who didn't trust Chiropractors.  A few years ago I went to another practitioner and this person made me feel really uncomfortable and I found that I didn't like the experience. After that experience, I swore I would never go to another Chiropractor.

Upon meeting Dr. Yin, I found that she was very nice and easy to talk too. I was so at ease that I forgot that Chiropractors weirded me out. I was open an honest about my feelings to her and she was very receptive to my comments.

I have been seeing her for about a year. I've noticed a marked improvement in the health of my body from the treatment. I when I do get a neck or muscle spasm I always go in for treatment. I noticed that after each treatment I feel relaxed and well aligned.

I would recommend her services 100%. She is very professional and you will be surprised how comfortable you feel in her offices.

I'd also like to mention, she's got a really great office staff.

I met up with Param at 3-4 month into my pregnancy. I did an informal interview at a Starbucks near my office. We talked for about an hour and I felt at ease with her through out the whole meeting. I am at 37 weeks now and in the home stretch. Due to work and other commitments, I really didn't reach out to her to finalize any details until December of 2011. I am due in Mid Feb.

When a contract is a confirmed with Param, she sends you some information and a form to fill out. At that time, you will need to send her part of your agreed upon payment for her services. My husband and I scheduled an apt with her at december and she came out to our home to talk to us about our wishes for the birth.

The one thing I like about her is that she is no nonsense. She helped us get focused for the natural birth that we wanted to have. She recommended some reading material and suggested a few things we could do to help us keep a positive mindset. As I get closer to the date of delivery, I am so glad and happy that I decided to go with a doula. I am confident she will be a huge help and a support during and through out the delivery.

Nothing Bundt Cakes

I've been to the Dublin and Sunnyvale locations prior to visiting this particular franchise. I think that it is a fantastic addition to the hub and will bring a lot of foot traffic into the shopping center.

Like the other locations, the employees are very nice and attentive to customers. It was a particularly busy morning and so they had queue forming when I arrived at the store. I ordered my cake in advance and brought a coupon for $5 off that their corporate offices sent to me via email.

The one thing I dislike about the whole chain, (why I am deducting one star), is the policy on only selling bundtinis by the dozen. I think the budntini's are a perfect size for a snack or to satisfy a quick craving. At all of the locations, I've seen the employees tell customers that it is not possible to buy just one bundtini. This is an absolutely dumb policy. Why would you turn a way a potential customer because they didn't want to spend 16.50 to buy 12 bundtini's. The only alternative is buying a bundtlet, which is lame.  Sometimes, I don't want to eat something that big. I'm so annoyed by this policy that I wrote to the corporate offices to complain about it.

If you visit any of the franchise locations in the bay area, I recommend that you complain about this policy. Hopefully they will change it. I want to have choice an not be told what I can and cannot buy. I think you should too!

Staybridge Suites Extended Stay Hotel Sacramento…

I did a blind booking online and reserved two rooms at the Staybridge. I was looking for specific things like wifi, extra beds, free breakfast and kids eating free. This hotel was a perfect fit.

When we arrived I was impressed with the lobby and how clean everything was. Parking was not an issue and the spaces were not far from the lobby door.

The suite we rented was a suite with double queen beds. This room fit four kids and the "living room " space fit one adult on a pullout bed. The second suite we rented was a double room suite with individual king beds and bathrooms. We had plenty of space to fit one grandma, my husband and I, and my sister.  My sister slept on the pullout in the living room of the second suite.  Each room was equipped with a full kitchen that was stocked with utensils, plates and all the necessary tools needed in a kitchen. The refrigerator was cold and clean.

There was a nice spread for breakfast. The menu included yogurt, waffles, bagels, cereal, juice, tea , coffee, eggs, sausage, potatoes, pastries and fruit. It was a decent spread. It was enough variety to feed all the kids and the adults. Had we gone out to breakfast it would have cost us at least $10 per person. So the cost of one room essentially paid for our breakfast.

Overall, the experience was great. I would go back if I had to stay in Sac again!

I stop in for a tune up every 6 months. My stuff gets cleaned, examined, and anything that is loose gets fixed by the staff. One of the prongs on my ring kept on snagging on my sweaters. Brought it in and they fixed it in a few minutes, got a quick cleaning and off I went!

Joe Escobar Diamonds is located across the street from the Elephant Bar. According to my fiance, an ideal location for a would be groom to dash over to for some alcoholic comfort after shelling out a few G for a rock.

The location is well lit and very clean. When you go into the store someone immediately will offer help or a beverage. I would suggest asking for Erik, he's a certified gemologist and very knowledgeable of the business. We worked with Erik for about 3 months going in every Thursday to see various stones and settings.

The diamonds may appear more expensive than what you can find on Blue Nile. But after careful research, we found that the diamonds at JE were top quality and actually priced even better than blue Nile. Remember perfect stone is a combination of your 4 C's.

If you are unsure about what you want , Erik is pretty helpful about educating you on diamonds. Although, I recommend that you go and do your homework before visiting a jeweler even Joe Escobar.

Ok, its Christmas Eve, give us a bone here. What I am referring to is the restaurant policy on no beverage refills except for water. Uh, hello, what kind of place does this restaurant want to be? I've never been to a place that wants to pull of the classy feel tell there customers that they don't refill soda's. Are you kidding me, that's a lame policy. How much is soda anyways, not that much in bulk.

The restaurant gets two stars for having very nice wait staff, but that's pretty much all they get. The food wasn't as good as I had the last time. I had breakfast here previously and the experience was surprisingly nice. You really can't mess up breakfast.

They goofed up my order a bit. I asked for a piece of steak that was VERY well done. Being that I am pregnant, I can't eat anything that is raw due to the possibility of getting a food born illness due to bacteria. My steak came out raw in the middle.

Throughout the meal, the wait staff did come by and check on us to ask us if everything was ok. We didn't really want to ask for anything since they tried to charge us extra for a refill. Who knows what else they would charge us for if we asked.

I think this restaurant tries to come across as a classy place. However, it misses the mark. The food is rather expensive for the quality. I don't think I'll be coming back.

It was a shame because I was looking forward to eating at this restaurant again.

I've driven by this place every week for almost 3 years and never bothered to stop by and eat. The name Spin a Yarn is pretty weird and it never appealed to me. The restaurant is really cute with a lovely covered patio. I ordered eggs Benedict, it was surprisingly good. I was impressed with the portions, the service, and the taste of the food. I will definitely come back again.

L23 Bakery

I discovered L23 bakery when I was out in down town San Jose doing a tasting for the food that was going to be served at my baby shower. The caterer I was using, Chef Monalisa had an event and invited me to attend. L23 bakery had a table at the event and I picked up a card.

I emailed the bakery and Vicki was kind enough to respond to my inquiry. She and I talked over some ideas for dessert and favors for the baby shower. I mentioned to her that we were having quite a few kids at the shower and I didn't want to serve anything that was too big and overwhelming. We decided on mini cupcakes. She recommended three of her top flavors. The most popular flavor was red velvet.

For the favors, she packaged up two macaroons and tied "It's a Girl!" ribbons around each. She didn't charge me for this extra service which was such a sweet and nice touch on her part.

Items were delivered on time and displayed very nicely at the shower. I was impressed. My guests couldn't stop gobbling up the treats.

I will use L23 bakery from now on for all dessert needs :)

Chef Monalisa

Update - 12/4/2011
It was an absolute pleasure working with Chef Monalisa. My husband and I were both quite pleased with the food that was ordered for the baby shower. We held our baby shower at her facility @ 261 N. 2nd Street. The location was nicely situated in Down town San Jose with free parking near by. All of my guests commented that was very easy to find and they found the facility very charming overall.

As for the food, Chef Monalisa was quite accommodating when the event started a little late as guests were still arriving after the scheduled time to start the buffet. We when the guests arrived the first activity started which took everyone's attention and so it wasn't really appropriate to bring out the food at that point. My sister had hired a magician to entertain the adults and children at the shower. The show ran for  quite a bit of time and so we asked to have the food served after the magic show was done. This worked out perfectly, the food came out warm and ready to eat as our guest were getting moving from the show area to to the buffet line.

Everyone loved the food that was served by Chef Monalisa. She recommended that I select a stuffed pork dish that was absolutely a hit. It was so well cooked that my guests were shocked when they found out it was actually pork and not turkey or chicken. The meat was tender, moist and stuffed with some sort of dried fruit mixture. Perfect for a holiday party. One of the best ideas that Chef Monalisa had was to serve hotdogs and mac 'n cheese to the kids. Not only did this reduce my cost but made all the kids happy as they didn't have to eat "adult" food. The Chef actually took extra time to make the mac n' cheese to make it extra special for the kids. Everyone loved it even the adults!

Overall my experience with Chef Monalisa was excellent. She is a consumate professional and you can tell she loves what she does. It shows in her food and overall desire to make her customer happy. It was so sweet to have her come out and check on us every so often to make sure everything was perfect.

Thanks Chef Monalisa!

The metro newspaper has a 15% off coupon each week for Lee's Sandwiches for you cheap eaters out there. The place is pretty good for a Vietnamese Sandwich. It'll would be even better if they added cucumbers to the sandwiches. I'm not really sure why they skimp on the cucumbers.

I only have one beef with this place. If you think these sandwiches are cheap you should have eaten them 10 years ago. I remember buying a lees sandwich for 75 cents. Inflation I guess.

I like to order the BBQ pork with an avocado shake. Yum Yum. With a 15% off it makes for a good deal.

6/13 I'm down grading Lees sandwich to 3 stars from 4. They are getting really skimpy on the meat.

Honey Thai Restaurant

Honey Thai has Yelp to thank for this review.  I was surfing on Yelp today and saw a posting for Honey Thai under New Restaurants. I have no idea how I got there but I ended up thinking about Honey Thai for like an hour before I decided to look up their website.  Luckily, they give users the ability to order online on their website. My order was place but wouldn't be done by 8:30, I HAD ONE HOUR TO GO before I could pick up.

It's kind of silly that I didn't call them but I was too hungry to even think about picking up the phone. So I drove out to Honey Thai and asked them to process my order stat. They looked at me kind of funny and then looked on their website, up popped my order. Maybe I was the first to try this option. I don't know.

I paid and they rushed to get my order done.

I'm at home now eating my Honey Thai. I am happy to say that it came in eco friendly to go containers. I can reuse one of the containers while the other is compostable. I would have easily deducted a star for styrofoam.
