Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa

First Maui hotel I stayed at, and can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Wife and I had a Deluxe Oceanfront room in building 6 -- up on the hill overlooking Black Rock. It's a pretty far walk from the main lobby and requires a couple elevator rides to get down to the pool/beach area, but the view alone was worth a million dollars and the privacy of being far away from the busy areas was great, too.

Staff was super friendly. Very professional. What you'd expect from a major resort.

Location is perfect. The snorkeling right outside the hotel is the best on Ka'anapali Beach. We tried snorkeling further down the beach, south from the Sheraton, and there's just nothing much to see down there. Could've spent hours every day snorkeling right outside our hotel if we didn't already have so many other things planned.

Room was pretty big -- just one king bed and plenty of space for all our stuff.

I only have two minor quibbles: Could've used a slightly bigger desk/table area for my laptop. (Yes, I know it's not a business hotel, but still.) Also, with a balcony and view as beautiful as this, they really need to put a screendoor up so you can hear the ocean while you're in the room. Would've loved to sleep in the bed yet still hear the waves. But without a screen door, didn't want to open the sliding door and possibly let bugs in.

Those are minor quibbles. As I said ... wonderful hotel. Will definitely stay here again. And again. And .....

Good place, not great. It's real and feels local/authentic and you can't beat the prices compared to any other place you might go for breakfast or lunch.

Food was fine -- not amazing restaurant level, but certainly as good as you'd get at any diner. There's no real "service" to speak of -- you walk up to the counter and place your order and they call you to collect it when the food is ready.

Wasn't a huge fan of the paper plates and utensils, but for most meals (scrambled eggs, pancakes, etc.) that's probably all you need.

Would definitely eat here again. Good value, good food, very convenient.

Spent a week on Maui earlier this month and the AM trip out to Molokini on the Four Winds II was my favorite thing of all the activities and things we did.

The boat was only about half-full, so we had plenty of room to stretch out and be comfortable. The crew was extremely friendly and knowledgeable -- if you get a chance, strike up a conversation with Captain John. He's seen a lot and has good stories to tell.

I did the snuba, which was really amazing. The training they provided was spot on -- they said it would be tough at first, but not to give up. And that's exactly what happened. Didn't even want to come out of the water when we were done.

Also got a chance to snorkel with my wife after lunch, and that was great, too. As others also said, we didn't see any turtles at molokini, but did drive slowly through the bay where they hang out.

The food was good and there was plenty to go around -- all included in the price.

Only negative thing would be that the crew is a bit heavy on the sales-y side of things. They use the on-board PA system to encourage you to rent the good underwater cameras, to buy a DVD and/or photo CD of your snuba/snorkel experience, etc. But hey - that stuff is easy enough to ignore and there's no in-your-face sales pitch or anything like that.

Gotta give this five stars because when we were done, I was ready to cancel all our other plans for the rest of the week and come back for this snorkel/snuba ride every day. :-) Loved it.

Waited to eat here twice before writing a review.

Food: I had burgers on both occasions, and they were terrific. Had the B.O.B., which is a burger on Ciabatta bread, and the Grilled Sourdough burger, also awesome. Both juicy and cooked well with lots of fixins and plenty large to fill an appetite. The fries they serve are pretty bland, almost like they're store-bought. Had the jojos on my second visit, and they're much better, but also could use a little more seasoning. Oh, they give you a TON of either fries or jojos -- no empty space on your plate at all. (I think I'll try a different side next time to see if they're better than the fries/jojos.) They serve a delicious raspberry iced tea.

Atmosphere: Overall, it's really nice inside. Much nicer than the national chain burger places. The walls are decorated with gorgeous photos from a northwest photographer. Only downside is that the main dining room is pretty loud -- there are no carpets to cushion the sound.

Service: The wait staff was really good on both visits. Not too bothersome, very friendly.

Price: Pretty standard for a burger restaurant. Less spendy than Olive Garden or Outback for dinner. Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) eats for less than $40.

Overall, Bob's is definitely a welcome addition to the Tri-Cities and one of the better restaurants in town.

Last thing: it gets very crowded after 5 pm. VERY crowded. Plan on a long wait.

Definitely the best of the three movie theaters we have in the Tri-Cities.

Positives: very comfortable seats, great sound and video quality, clean lobby area with games and plenty of space for when it's crowded, self-serve concessions (which usually make for less waiting in lines).

Negatives: only one ticket counter. Usually not a problem unless it's really crowded, but I think they should add more. Then again, all of the local theaters suffer from long lines in this situation, so Fairchild is no different than the others.

I've been looking for a couple rare records for almost two weeks now, and Something Groovywas kind enough to hold them for me over the holidays. But we've had non-stop snow and ice for the past week and I haven't been able to make the drive out to Prosser. (I'm about a half-hour away.)

So, finally, I asked if I could pay over the phone and have the records shipped. Yep, not a problem, and the records arrived today in perfect condition. The packaging was really great, no chance of damage in transit. They took a lot of care in doing that. And all along, the owners were very friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommended and I'll look forward to visiting some time when the weather is a bit better.

The thing you have to understand is that the serving sizes are HUGE. On an empty stomach, I ordered the basic cheeseburger and then a slice of Devil's Food cheesecake, and couldn't finish the latter. Skip the fries and other extras -- you probably won't eat them, and it's better to save room for the cheesecake.

The burger was big and juicy, really delicious. Perfectly cooked, too. And the cheesecake is just out of this world. I actually live out in Washington state, and don't mind paying $40 to have Juniors' cheesecake shipped out here. It's that good.

And second best of all, it's pretty darn affordable -- especially compared to some of the other eateries in Times Square, where you can expect to pay $20 or more for a basic club sandwich.

I love Juniors and eat here every time I'm in New York.

As a Philly native, I had to try to the Philly Cheese Steak on my first visit today. The verdict? Very good! Not as great as an original, but certainly one of the best cheese steaks I've had outside of Philly. Would definitely order it again, but I also want to try the pizza that everyone raves about.

I also ordered the fries, which were good but not great - but were totally unnecessary because the sandwich was so big.

Prices are very reasonable. Two of us had lunch for just under $25, which would've been closer to $20 if I'd known to skip the fries.

The place is a little on the small side, but nice and clean. Food was delivered to our table quickly, which was nice. Oh, this is not a waiter-service place. You order at the counter first, and they bring the food to your table. Just so you know....

Will definitely be back for more in the future.

Had dinner here a couple nights ago with a bunch of friends, most all of us visiting from out of town.

And for starters, gotta give credit to the staff. We first said our group had 9 people in it. Then we had 11. And then a 12th showed up. They were very cool about it the whole time and didn't make us move to a bigger seating area even though I think a couple of us were blocking regular walkways. Our waitress also separated out our orders to make that typically awful "how do we all pay for this individually?" process a lot easier at the end.

The food was good - not great. I had the basic burger and fries and enjoyed it. Nice, big patty and a healthy serving of fries. In fact, apparently a couple of my fries fell off the plate before it was placed in front of me, so the waitress returned two minutes later with an extra plate of fries to make up for what happened.

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but they have an enormous list of beers to choose from.

The facility is quite good. Very hip, but also it seemed to have quiet spots for anyone who wants that kind of atmosphere, too.

Very nice facility - lots of space, high ceilings, very well decorated and all that jazz. Good atmosphere overall.

Service was good, too, and fast.

But I can only give three stars because the food was just okay. I ordered the basic Pub Burger, which was pretty good but kinda bland. Worse, it was small. For a $10 burger, I expected something bigger. They made up for it to some degree with a LOT of fries on the plate, but still ... I didn't order for the fries.

I'd come back, but I'd try something different next time. The mac and cheese is supposed to real good.
