This is exactly the kind of artisan pizza I love!  As others have stated, the crust was absolutely perfect!

The only issue - I would have liked to see some additional pizza topping options.  

Looking forward to going back soon.

Food was solid.  More of a Greek influence than a Greek restaurant.

Atmosphere was nice.  Wait staff lacked warmth though - felt like we were being upsold.

I would go back.

Awesome tacos!  The carnitas was solid, but I really come here for the al-pastor.  Seriously delicious!

I have been eating pizza from Maldys for 25 years (formerly Pontillos) and I still love it.  

The pizza is absolutely amazing.  The crust isn't too thick, nor is it too thin.  The toppings are fresh and it is just as good hot as it is cold for breakfast.  A solid pizza choice and the prices are even more compelling.

I still enjoy Amici's, Tomatinas, and the occasional Round Table, but Maldonado's is my favorite!

This review is from a couple of years ago.  Things might be different now, but I am probably not willing to find out...

Negatives:
-Totally overpriced
-Snooty wait-staff
-Does every plate need to come with foam?
-Sea-Urchin on a spoon was one course!  Are you serious?  My wife and I had to stop for fast-food on the way home because we were still hungry.
-Insanely overpriced!  Oh yeah, I already said that, but I think it is worth pointing out again.

If you are looking for an upscale restaurant in the bay area, why not go to Gary Danko or somewhere worthy of the hype and price...  I would never eat here again.

The new location offers more space, a full bar, and mariachi bands on the weekends!  This is hands down my favorite Mexican food of all time.  The carnitas is spectacular and the service is great!
