Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Never again.
This was the most awful hotel experience ever. It was way overpriced ($120 or so on the weekend of Hot August Nights) for what we got, which was a butt ugly room with two queen beds instead of the one king I asked for. We ordered room service, which we were disappointed to find only served until 10pm and the menu mainly consisted of hot dogs and grilled cheese. What use is that? My girlfriend and I wound up getting two Caesar salads -- what we thought was a safe bet. When the food was delivered the forks were forgotten. That's no big deal. The "salads", however, were atrocious. What we got were bowls of dressing mixed with corn, cheese and croutons. There must have been some lettuce towards the bottom, but our stomachs wouldn't let us get that far.
In addition, every elevator in the building is always full of people and strollers and luggage. After we checked out, we waited through three full elevators before we finally, exasperated, carted our bags down 10 flights of stairs only to encounter the same problem at the parking garage elevator.
There are children running around EVERYWHERE, so unless you have some of your own or are just a glutton for punishment, don't stay here.

My girlfriend and I LOVED this place. It's very old school, which we both thought was fantastic. We went on a Saturday night and the waitstaff was extremely attentive and helpful. We were seated right away without reservations and everything arrived promptly. I ordered a fantastic Grey Goose Gimlet and we started with Oysters Rockefeller and Caesar salad prepared right at the table. I ordered the filet mignon and my only sadness is that I was too full to finish it. We stayed rather late but never felt rushed. We only wish we'd found this place sooner!
I surprised my girlfriend with a stay here on our way up to Oregon to visit my parents. She loved it and so did I! I expected it to err more on the kitschy side and it did, which was right up our alley.
Everyone was very friendly, from the lady at the front desk to the wait staff in the "dining car". The portions of food were enormous compared to "city fare" but it was all reasonably priced. We found the drinks to be quite weak, but hell, they were cheap enough, so we drank twice as many.
Our stay was in July, so the weather was quite pleasant. The A/C was on when we got to our caboose. There are a lot of families here, so a romantic poolside lounge isn't exactly in order. However, we went into the hot tub and pool after the kiddies went to bed (10-11pm or so) and had the place to ourselves, which was lovely.
From here on out we plan to make this quaint little resort a tradition every time we visit the folks and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in a unique stay.

Energy 92.7, you will be missed. You were a gem amongst radio stations.
92.7 has now been taken off the pre-programmed radio stations in my car. Sad, sad, sad.
