Jesus was a carpenter. And so is Jesus. He fixed my deck, replaced my steps, painted my living room, refinished my cabinets, made my doors plumb, removed the sink from my bedroom and performed numerous other fixes to rehabilitate my 1950s tract home. Thanks to the Mickey Mouse work of the previous owner, I expect to bring Jesus back for several more projects.
One of the few places in the state that makes a decent donut. They have a deli and all the usual convenience store stock as well. Me, I only come for the donuts.

I really dig this place. I ate here every day that I was in Manchester. It's a real old school diner that survived, not a cheap imitation.
The menu is extensive. I heartily recommend the turkey san - they give you real, fresh turkey, not deli slices! The burgers are a bit greasy, and the hollandaise is weak, but all the diner standards are aces.
I deducted half a point for being so staunchly anti-smoking (modern fascism has no place in a classic diner), and another quarter point for not having friendly, chain-smoking waitresses asking "What can I getcha, Honey?". Therefore I am actually awarding 4.25 stars.

Like every other tacqueria outside the Mission, these guys don't get it. The secret to a good burrito is first and foremost, GRILL the tortilla! Never, ever steam that skin. The second thing is to use avocado instead of green water. The third rule of burritos is you do not talk about... Wait. The third rule is to cut the gristle off the beef before serving it.

LOVE the Nan King Chicken. I usually let the owner pick the remaining dishes. I've yet to be disappointed. If you're after authentic Cantonese, this ain't it. Nan King's dishes are very westernized, but in a good way, not a chain restaurant kind of way. Go for dinner, after the suits have gone home.

Like Dennis said, the best burger in SF, but it'll cost ya. The fries and shakes are nothing to write home about, but I get em anyway. It's part of the experience. Be sure and drive the 4x4 if you're planning on driving via Mission Street - we've got potholes there approaching landmark status.
San Francisco's last remaining donut shop. Come try em before they get bought out! I'm a something of a donut expert. I could tell you all about the history, the mixes in use today, the optimal fry technique, etc. But the existing reviews tell all you need to know. These are good, honest doughnuts.
