I had yummy salmon with asparagus, spicy green beans, and soup. I found them on http://Grubhub.com and would use them again for the speed and convenience and the food is totally fine!

The food was pretty tasty and reasonably priced, not to mention the portions are HUGE HUGE HUGE. The bread....oh my gosh..... the basket of wheat bread was so unbelievably good. If you are health conscious, make sure you ask them not to soak and slather the amazing bread with butter.
Grubby on the outside, looks pretty shabby. The walls in the bathroom and the doors are grimy and dingy. Could use a dusting, a carpet shampoo, and a fresh coat of paint for sure.
Corny faux Swiss Alps kind of decor......
Nice room, reasonable price, great views if you are in the tower and are in an evening numbered room. Odd numbered lower leveled floors have views of....a wall...... The reason I know this is because our first night we were next door to an awful family. They were blaring Spanish language TV on full blast and had numerous children, one of which was just shouting and screaming all night long until 1 or 2 am and started up again at 7. I called security after making an attempt to pound on the wall to no success. I went down to the front desk all sleepy like in the morning and asked to have my room moved and explained the situations. They immediately let us switch rooms. Very good.
I was happy with our stay here, would stay again, but am also interested in checking out other places in South Lake Tahoe. I was thinking for some reason that South Lake Tahoe would be a little more similar to Vegas for some reason and was very mistaken. It was quaint and pretty on since it is off season, very relaxed, quiet, and chill. Very nice.
We checked out the casino, where I lost $50 in the slots, boooo, and also the game arcade which was FREE ALL DAY on Halloween. I admit.....we spent about 5 hours there between our morning visit there, our mid-day visit there, and our late night visit there. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone. After hours playing "Dance Maniax" I was dripping sweat. God, I love that game. (Just checked on YouTube, and compared myself to people playing that game in the malls around Asia. On a scale of a 1 to 100, 100 being really awesome at that game and one being a total rhythm-less dweeb, I am giving myself a 10. Still pretty low. Always room to improve LOLZ, just found my new mission in life.)

Anyhoo, the restaurant itself has a very nice decor, white walls with dark tea green accents such as the dinner sets and some other accents, such as small hanging lamps, were in shanghai red. I happen to love that color combo, so I was very happy.
Eddie is super friendly. My friend and I met a little before 5:30 and he came and chatted with us for a bit. WARNING-BETWEEN 6:15 and 7:15 THIS PLACE IS PACKED, PACKED, PACKED so if you are in a super big rush, be mindful of this. Once the place got jumping, Eddie was a blur of humanity, rushing around, taking orders, talking to the line cooks, answering the phone.
So the food. I ate. And I ate. And I ate. And I ate some more. Honestly....I ate A LOT. Everything was delicious and spicy. Next time I go I am going to ask them to hold the salt. If I had done do this time, I would be giving them 5 stars.
I ate so much I can't even remember what I ate. Honestly. We had dumpling and little fried spring rolls to start. Then a cold noodle dish with peanut sauce and cucumbers. Then something from the seafood section that was delicious.
Everything was perfectly spicy, not all crazy spicy like your throat is going to bleed and your forehead starts dripping sweat, but spicy enough to give you a massive endorphin rush. I had a major headbuzz going on after eating here. Or maybe it was the wine? No corkage BTW.
I took home a beef dish and a noodle dish for the hubby and he nom nom nommed it down very happily :-).

A ceiling fan or two are in order there, it was hot and stuffy and I was sweating. The clientele is a mixture of real live Latino families and Mission-esque hipsters.
3.5 stars but I rounded up because that is how I roll.
The booths are hecka small, and seat a maximum of four people. Mind you, not four large people......

Frjtz

All these things listed above were why this place got four stars. The crepes were 3 stars and the fries were 2 star fries. A place called frjtz better have some good pommes frites, people. These fries were pretty bad---were they bought in a giant bag of frozen grossness? Are these really from potatoes, or these potato products? I brought a crepe home for my husband and he liked the crepe but asked if the fries were real potatoes...... 4 stars may seem generous but this place is actually really cool..... The aforementioned icky fries are wrapped in paper all Euro style and served upright in a sundae glass. Great presentation!
They should change their name from frjtz to "White" or "White Lounge" or something.....don't call attention to your terrible french fries.

Holy giant plates of deliciousness, Batman! We each had a plate heaped high with delicious rice (how do they make rice so delicious?), meat, potatoes, plantains and other yummy veggies and spices. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. We shared a 1/2 liter of sangria (though if I hadn't been driving I could have torn through several liters of the stuff, it was just that kind of day....), and finished off with an AMAZING Mousse De Mango. WOW!
Great food, great ambiance, and great company! What more could I ask for (aside from not working 80 hours a week)?
An hour and 10 minutes after I placed my ordered, by dinner arrived. It was all totally fine. One dish was a bit salty, and the red curry wasn't as spicy as the hubby likes it, and the satay chicken was on the dry side.
However, it meant that I didn't have to cook or do dishes tonight, nor did I have to move off the couch much, where I have been sitting and working for 13 straight hours today, so that in my book is fine. I am still chugging water to get the saltiness of the duck dish out of my mouth. That's is what you get for being overworked, a salty and non-spicy dinner, because you can't bother to cook for yourself!
They forgot one of our side dishes, but I contacted customer service at grubhub and it was removed from my bill (or so they say, I have yet to actually check).

Massawa Restaurant

Neighborhood: Haight-Ashbury
We headed into Massawa. The staff there is very kind and friendly. We had a meat sambusa and a veggie sambusa. Both were fine, a wee bit on the greasy side, but totally fine.
We split the veggie combo, which was nice, quite spicy, and the meat combo, which was alright. Of course there was plenty of spongy, sour injer to grab the bits up with. My honey wine was nice, and my husband had an Eritrean beer.
Much chiller than Assab but I think the food at Assab is a bit better.
Date

Our filling breakfasts were served by a slightly glum, morose, ethereal and pale teenage girl, and came out quickly enough. I loved the outdoor seating, a great way to start a Sunday.
Minus one star for the fact that the bathroom is filthy, the kitchen isn't the cleanest (walk through it to get to the loo), and OMG ew, they keep a giant metal bowl of cut up potatoes, waiting to become "country potatoes", right by the grody bathroom, sitting ON THE DIRTY FLOOR. GROSS.
I don't think it was too expensive, but I also didn't pick up the tab so can't be too specific............................ super easy to park on the street on a Sunday morning.
