Green Tea Cafe

Green Tea Cafe is a great find for Boba in the far east bay. I discovered bubble tea when I was at Cal and always missed having it when I wasn't in Berkeley or SF. I discovered Green Tea by searching for boba in Walnut Creek and I am glad they are there! I usually get the milk teas with pearls, and really like that they have the option of non-fat milk for the tea. The staff is pretty friendly and fast, and they finally have a few parking spaces [in the bank parking lot, facing the restaurant, it says "reserved for Green Tea Cafe patrons." ] Check it out if you like bubble tea!

Samovar, how I love thee. Great tasting tea, entrees [the squash pot stickers are my favorite] and atmosphere. It a beautifully decorated spot and the staff is always nice and knowledgeable about the tea. Samovar is a nice place to bring a friend, date or just a book and relax to some Eastern music and comfy seating. They also sell their teas, so if you like what you have, you can take home a tin. I have been here many times and love taking people who have never been--it never fails to impress.

Planned a birthday dinner here years ago and had a wonderful experience. I had a large group of people and they were very accommodating with that.  The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was nice. Enjoying a jazz show after dinner just a few feet away was marvelous. I liked the acoustics and stage placement of the concert hall and liked how intimate it felt. I would strongly recommend Yoshi's for a group night out of dinner and a live show.

Cute Ethiopian place with relatively good food. I liked most of their meat dishes and their vegetarian stuff was good as well. We ordered family style and the portion size was more on the skimpy side but that's okay. The taste was good, and our waitress was nice. Parking wasn't too difficult either, which is always a great find.

I spent my last birthday dinner at the Matterhorn, and it was okay. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out, so plus points for that. I liked the authentic server and atmosphere, but felt that the prices didn't reflect the quality of food. It was good fondue, but just not the best that I've had. The service was pretty standard and the restaurant has enough seating for 15 people to be seated together.

Ok, I totally enjoy Fondue Fred's. I first came here in college, but still come back when I want some great fondue. It's very cozy and reminds me a bit of a cabin, which I like. I usually have always had the same server who is friendly, nice and attentive. The food is great--very generous portions initially, and you can ask for more if needed. The price is also pretty reasonable for fondue and it would be a great place for groups as well. 3 cheers for Fondue Fred's!

Went on a date here and thought the place was really great looking. It reminded a lot of a place I would dine in San Francisco, but instead, it was in quaint downtown Saratoga. Their servers were nice enough and the dishes were good. They initially don't give you many vegetables to dip, but you can ask for more. The chocolate fondue was some of the best I've had to date--their dippers were diverse and tasty. Perfect date destination!

Some of the best vegetarian Chinese food that I've had. The restaurant doesn't have the greatest approach and the inside is not so great either. The service was standard, but the food was good. I wouldn't go here for a formal date, but a dinner with a friend would be more appropriate. I would recommend their "chicken" dishes, as I enjoyed those as well as the mixed vegetables.

Although I am not a vegan, I did enjoy this restaurant. Our server was very nice and worked with me on what items I could order with my food allergy. The food was interesting as well. The vegan macaroni and cheese would be something to try for the lactose intolerant and their noodle/curry dishes were pretty tasty. They also had some healthy smoothies which didn't taste half bad at all. For the service and cool ambiance, I would say Herbivore is something to try.

I went to B&B when it first opened and absolutely loved it! The decor was great; velvet wallpaper was an awesome touch. The booths are really comfortable and I really liked the speakeasy vibe. The drinks are good too; I like the gimlet and they also had a great sparkling wine drink. A great place to take 5 of your friends and have a good conversation and great time.
