My husband and I recently started going to Manzanita for acupuncture, thanks to a groupon. Neither of us had experienced acupuncture before and I was scared that it would be painful. All of my worries melted away after we were greeted by Shoshana's warm smile. She has a very gentle touch, and seems to genuinely care about healing us. We continue to see her every week and here treatment with herbs has helped me leave my prescription drugs behind. I strongly recommend Shoshana, she is a kind woman with a great talent of healing.

I wanted to get some sushi before an event, and Wayo was on the well...way(o) to the venue. The Philadelphia roll was amongst the best I've had, and the Dynamite roll with tart Ponzu was excellent. Even the miso soup and sunomono were fantastic! Every thing at Wayo was incredibly fresh, and the staff was accomodating + friendly. I look forward to coming here again, and trying the mango rolls. Make sure to check out the specials before you order!

What can I say about Dom and his team that hasn't already been admittedly it's hard! Coming from a production background, I was looking for someone who could live up to my standards of video creation. I not only wanted everything filmed in HD, but also wanted to be able to get a Blu-ray disk and had some special needs as well--all on budget, of course. Dom delivered this with pizazz! Even though he is not Indian, he captured all the important parts of my Hindu ceremony and divided up the chapters perfectly. His editing to music is superb, and I very much enjoyed the music video and fun lip-dub that he produced! My wedding was cold and wet (gotta love that November rain!), but Dom's video team worked like pros despite the crazy conditions.  Bay area VDO made everything seem even more beautiful than I remember, and I would recommend them to anyone, even the nit-pickiest of brides. Trust me, just tell Dom how you want to remember your wedding day and he will make it happen. I appreciate the effort he put into understanding my culture and making a video that I will cherish for a lifetime.

I went to Cream last night after a Sushi dinner up the street. I didn't want to wait in the long line, but boy am I glad I did!

The ambiance of the place is great--sure it's tiny, but the friendly staff and blazing hip-hop beats were very inviting. I ordered chocolate chip cookies (warm) with one scoop of caramel ice cream. It was incredibly delicious and the perfect size. Plus, for $1.50 you really can't go wrong!

Also, it wasn't too sweet or heavy and the service was great. I would highly recommend checking out cream if you have a sweet tooth or enjoy cookies/ice cream.

Farmerbrown's Little Skillet

It's not exactly fair (for my waistline) that Little Skillet is just one alley over from where I work in San Francisco. Every morning, I walk by the aroma of Little Skillet which makes it hard to resist for lunch time. I usually order the 1 piece chicken and waffle, which is superb. They also have great biscuits, especially the brown sugar and pepper seasoned biscuits which I always get as well. Altogether, I would say that I've never eaten Little Skillet without being satisfied! The downsides are the long lines, no seating, and I have yet to have a good side (the coleslaw, etc. aren't so good). Despite all that, I still love me some Little Skillet as a Friday lunch treat!

Silk Road

I've passed by Silk Road many times in the past, but never stopped to try it. That day finally came on a sunny Saturday afternoon when I was attracted by their porch seating. We ordered the sampler style appetizer, which included dolmas, hummus, pita, and olives--all were good. For the entree, we ordered the skewer chicken with rice. The chicken was tender and had a gorgeous tandoori flavor. The portion size was also not overwhelming, but the price was! It's a little expensive for lunch, but the Silk Road does deliver succulent Mediterranean eats.

Although this Korean place was a bit hard to find, I am really happy that I did! Their bibimbap was hot and tasty, and I really enjoyed the taste of the pickled sides. The sesame chicken appetizer was also delicious. On top of it all, the staff was very kind and attentive + they played Duran Duran the whole time I was there!

Just went "Home" for the first time, and it was great. We ordered the artichoke-spinach dip for starters which was delicious, then ordered the fried chicken & butternut squash ravioli with a side of brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were okay and the ravioli was a meager serving [that is usual for most places though] and a little too oily. On the upside, the spinach-artichoke dip is one of the best I've ever had! Also, the fried chicken with mashed potatoes & coleslaw was true, warm, delicious comfort food. It does get a bit noise post-8:00, but the food and atmosphere is good. I recommend Home when you're in the mood to eat something hearty and American.

Green Tea Cafe - CLOSED

Green Tea Cafe is a great find for Boba in the far east bay. I discovered bubble tea when I was at Cal and always missed having it when I wasn't in Berkeley or SF. I discovered Green Tea by searching for boba in Walnut Creek and I am glad they are there! I usually get the milk teas with pearls, and really like that they have the option of non-fat milk for the tea. The staff is pretty friendly and fast, and they finally have a few parking spaces [in the bank parking lot, facing the restaurant, it says "reserved for Green Tea Cafe patrons." ] Check it out if you like bubble tea!

Samovar, how I love thee. Great tasting tea, entrees [the squash pot stickers are my favorite] and atmosphere. It a beautifully decorated spot and the staff is always nice and knowledgeable about the tea. Samovar is a nice place to bring a friend, date or just a book and relax to some Eastern music and comfy seating. They also sell their teas, so if you like what you have, you can take home a tin. I have been here many times and love taking people who have never been--it never fails to impress.
